Of course they'll work the glutes to perfection, on step ups, lunges, squats and plie squats.
But, remember that if you don't have a barbell, dumbells held on youur shoulders will do the same job for you! I don't yet have a barbell and am sucessfully honing my glutes with two 20 pound dumbells for all of the above exercises...
Do you have a series of different dumbell sizes? Since you have just bought MIS!!! You'll be needing them, a range from 5 pounds upwards....
And congrats on your Rhythmic Step and Power Hour purchses: these two are my staples and have kept me going with Cathe in "dificult periods" of de-motivation, whatever.
Knew you'd love the music!!!!
As far as your "plates of meat" are concerned, have you tried Reebok trainers? When I lived in London, this is what I used and I found that they actally came large on the foot, my feet (size 6) were lost in them. They have loads of new cool styles, try their website and see....
Anna, I have just bought the CTX series, and I remember from another post you were saying you were thinking of getting it in January. I was doubtful at first that the cardio sessions would be long enough, and I am now hooked! I think it would be great for you. The music is different, some of it is great and very motivating. The range of different aerobic styles, sometimes on one video, is great, and you can do things like: just do the one cardio session and then follow it with Power Hour or MIS if you want to work more than the one body part; or you can combine two aerobic sessions for a really explosive workout. I did that last night and it worked me hard, my legs are still tired... So you see there are so many options. get this series!!!!
