What are you most grateful for this time of the year?

Being outside mostly all day had me thinking. When I am outside, I am grateful....

that a cloud passes by so I feel like I am not in a oven....
for a breeze.....
for the birds that are still around before they fly further south....
when my son brings me ice water when I am out in the garden....
fresh veggies and fruit.....
crickets as I love to hear them chirp at night

Can you think of anything else?

Charlotte~~

Like you, I love the summer night music of crickets and katydids.

I am happy that I am not shoveling snow or driving in it. LOL

I like the fact that it doesn't get dark until after 8:30.

I like the sounds of kids playing outside.

I like to be able to sit out on my patio in the evening.

I like driving at night with my moon roof open.

I feel most comfortable in warm weather. I could do without excessive humidity however.

Inside or out, I am grateful that God gave me such a wonderful husband....:)

oh, that and all the opportunity I have right now......

I am grateful for the lazy summer days. Although I am looking forward to the start of school, I am not looking forward to making lunches and the extra scheduling of activities that the school year brings.

I am also grateful that when I am sunning myself on the deck and I get too hot, I can jump right in the pool to cool off!

I am grateful for My husband and my 2 beautiful kids!

I am grateful that I found cathe workouts and able to workout with her.(Is that too corny?)

I am also thankful for the swimming pool
fresh corn and tomatoes
watching my son play basball and race gocarts on a dirt track
the smell of flowers and rain
grilling out (of course I don't let snow stop me from doing that:9 )
I just love summer and fall but hate winter.

I'm grateful for my health and the health of my family.

I'm grateful for all of the soldiers and the military families for the sacrifices that they make for the rest of us.

Thanks for posting this, Charlotte - I've been having a pity party for myself because of a knee injury that's been going on for months and this put things in perspective for me. :)

Erica

Edited to add - Oh, I just realized that it is what I'm grateful for this time of year and not just grateful for in general! Sorry! I have to say rainbows - I just saw one tonight!

What am I most grateful for at THIS time of year?

Air conditioning (I'm from NorthCentral Washington State, as we call it, and while it can get to over 100 degrees in Aug., it's very dry and doesn't last:), now I'm in SE VA!)
Homegrown tomatoes and other vegetables
Our grapes
Kids still brave enough to come out in this heat and play:)
Sea breezes
Thunderstorms that bring us rain
Did I mention rain?
Makes me appreciate the coming fall, winter, and spring:)
That we can wear so little clothes and be considered modest anyway:)
That, thanks to Cathe and other great instructors, I'm in decent enough shape to be presentable in those little sleeveless tops and shorts:)
Shade!
Cold drinks: water, my favorite sodas, beer:)
Clothes dry fast on the line!

I am grateful of not having to get 14 children in their snowpants, boots, mittens, hats, coats. (I'm a Nursery School teacher)
And, not having to take the littlest ones out and having them cry because that can't walk on the ice.
I am grateful for the lack of a need for kleenex, to wipe all those runny noses!

This time of year I'm grateful for:
-fall is on the way(my favorite season weather wise)
-new fall clothes
-the first day of school(super excited and anxious at the same time)
-a brand new school building and a beautiful new classroom with gigantic windows
-hot, fresh, coffee

Every year I'm more thankful for:
-my husband, family, and friends

Hanging out all day in my bathing suit

The Beach

Staying up Late

Fresh fruits and vegetables, especially peaches, tomatoes, and watermelon

Having a little sun on my body, so I can go without makeup and still feel I look halfway decent.

The summer flowers in bloom

Cooking on the grill and eating on the porch

I'm so grateful for of all of you who help point out all these blessings. This time of year always makes me feel a bit blue. Summers almost over, the birds will be gone soon, my DH the college instructor goes back to work so I have to do housework again. This year I've been especially blue since my daughter started college this past Friday. But reading all your thoughtful posts has made me realize that it still is summer and there are many, many things to be grateful for. Thank you all!

I love this time of year.

I love walking outside without a coat.

I love the long hours of daylight.

I love sitting outside at cafes when it isn't too humid.

I love the blueberries, the cantaloupes and the honeydew.

I love that most of my clients are away on vacation and I don't have to work so hard.

I love that my DH gets to bike ride to his heart's content.

This summer I read a lot of the summer reading suggestions. One was The Poisonwood Bible. After finishing it I did a little research on my own online about some of the animals, diseases and places mentioned in the book.

Ever since, I am grateful every single day for clean, drinkable, easily accessed water.

I love the produce most of all. The tomatoes, peppers, okra, melons, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, figs, and MORE.

I love the long days, and the lack of school buses on the commute. I love that all the college students are NOT in Chapel Hill, and I love the thunderstorms.

There are plenty of things I hate about the weather too, and the bugs and the humidity, but that would be for another topic.;-)

I am grateful for the long sunlight hours and relaxed atmosphere.
I am also grateful for my family and good health :) and that's any time of the year :)

i also looove fresh produce.

I'm most grateful that three years ago today I married my wonderful husband!!!!! It was a beautiful day just like today!!:)
