What are you doing to NOT Eat Halloween Candy Today/Tonight...??

I almost feel like it's inevitible. But I'd love it if I could get through the entire holiday without eating chocolate (we have TONS of it for T or Ter's. Always buy too much!)

I'm not giving away candy at home (I live on a deadend, and the one time I was all prepped for Halloween, nobody came :(), but I did hand out stuff in class.

Now, I've got a load of candy (the healthiest vegan 'stuff" I could find in the store, but not that healthy: some peanut butter candies, some 65$ fruit candies--guess what the rest of it is? LOL!) in my office. I planned to put it out in the main office, but the two candy jars we have there are already full!

I definitely need to get rid of it (I am NOT taking it home): it's so easy to just grab some just because it's here. If the candy jars in the office are still full on Monday, I'll just put my Halloween bucket out (I have a collegue who will polish off a lot of it really quickly...better him than me!)

I try to pass it all out to trick or treaters. We get a lot of them in our neighborhood. When I worked in an office I took it in and it would disappear in a flash. Now that I work from home all left overs get thrown away immediately. I know from experience that if I keep it in the house sooner or later I will eat some.

We get a lot of trick or treaters, and some of them grab more than their share. We didn't have enough last year, so we bought even more this year. I sure hope it all goes because I live with a Chocolate Monster. He CANNOT control himself around chocolate and he is simply unable to limit his quantities. Whatever the kids leave over will wind up in his mouth for sure. No worries for me because by the time I get around to thinking I might like to eat a piece of candy, it's long gone.

wwwwwwhat NOT eat candy ;) cant' say i am doing much to prevent it. i have a kid who wants to trick or treat plus i grabbed some just in case i get any trick or treaters before i leave tonight. if anything i will stash some of it in the freezer. makes it really hard to gobble it up if its frozen. plus dh likes his peanut butter cups frozen. the rest i store in a cabinet that i my short self has a hard time getting into. i will pull some out for treats but to go on a binge, well frankly i am to lazy to drag my high step(that double as a step stool) all the way to the kitchen just to grab candy.

I didn't buy any. I live on a dirt road with very few houses so no one bothers to come down the road.

I always buy stuff I don't like, so no chocolate. I get stuff like lollipops, starbursts, tootsie rolls, etc, that I have no problem resisting. So I can give stuff out without being tempted myself.

Now raiding the kids' stash when we come back from trick or treating, that's another story!!

The yuckiness of American chocolate (i.e. Hersheys and Reese's) keeps me away from the candy jar. I'd rather a nice slice of homemade cheesecake :p

It helps that I have braces this year. All the candy I bought to give out is either stuff I don't like or stuff that's too crunchy and hard to eat with braces. The problem is just if the boys bring back something yummy and not too hard from their trick-or-treating, but I'm pretty good about not stealing from them (good, not perfect ;)).

Candy lol. I just had to heat up oatmeal to prevent myself from eating the YUMMY looking cake sitting in the kitchen at my work!!!

I made a goal this year that I will NOT eat it. Not *one* piece. I know, it seems harsh but for me it works. Once I start... I can't stop!! White crack, I tell ya. It helps that I'm taking the kids Trick or Treating so I'll be getting exercise walking around the block. ;) Then after we get home, I let them pick some of their favorites to save but the rest goes w/ my dh to work.

I know I couldn't make it through trick or treat without eating some. I've gone almost a whole month without chocolate so I am letting myself enjoy a little. This year I already separated out a small amount for each of us. That way I have portion control. If I have any left overs after the trick or treaters are gone it will go to the office instead of going into my stomach.

Due to the economic crisis I am not handing out candy this year. Please send an economic stimulus package to the children.

That was a joke.

Seriously, I'll give out Hershey Special Dark because I don't LOVE it so i'm not too tempted by that.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm not even gonna try not to eat it. Why fight a battle I have absolutely no hope of winning?.....

Besides, it tastes oh so gooooooood.....

Heya Allison! I was just going to post wondering where you've been lately! Hope things are going well your way!

Uh, I have candy dishes around the house all the time! I know, I know, we have people over constantly and I am "famous" for my "treat bowls".

I pretty much stay away, I know its there but rarely "dip" into the stuff myself. Maybe I should start setting out bowls of soynuts instead, those are so gross.

Happy Halloween!
