What are you doing this weekend?

I think I'm just going to relax. It's long overdue.

I'm not going to take any work home. I'm not going to log into my work computer. I think I'm going to sleep late, go to the gym, get back into my strength training. Rent a few movies. Maybe DH and I will go over to the Home Depot Expo Center and start to plan our kitchen renovation if we feel like it.

What is everyone else doing?

-Nancy

We're building a deck this weekend, and we hope to have it done in time so we can sit back and relax on it on the 4th. :)

Oh yeah! weekend warriors!!

relaxing sounds good, but none for me. i have to mow 14 acres today, weedeat, wash my car, get everything ready for Monday, get three workouts in and various other little chores. But that's ok b/c i did just get back from a lot of relaxing :)

Take my boy to his swimming class. Do a Terminator workout. Gauntlet, maybe. Do some yoga, too. I'm thinking of driving down to Glen Rose, an hour SW of DFW, and take the kiddo to the dinosaur place. He'll love that. I don't know what my husband thinks. He works for a company that expects him to work even during hours/days in which normal people shouldn't be working.:(

I'm getting my final prep done for a trip to Québec (conference and touring): cleaning, pre-packing, going over my presentation making sure I have everything I need, doing my nails, hanging with the cats and getting them set up for my leaving.

>Emily, excuse my ignorance, but can you build a deck in one
>weekend?

Absolutely! It's going to be a very simple deck - large, but simple. W already had the post holes dug, and we poured the concrete footers already, so now it's just a matter of cutting some lumber and nailing/screwing it together. My in-laws are coming from out-of-town to help too. So it should not take long at all. DH and FIL both have previous deck-building experience, which helps too. ;)

I should have mentioned the holiday in my original post. I'm glad not to be part of the traffic jam of folks trying to get out of the city, but what about everyone else? I suppose my DH will want to walk over to the promenade to catch the fireworks. If it were up to me, I'd avoid the whole crowd scene over there, but he usually wins out.

My birthday is tomorrow (July 2nd) and it is a funny thing. Every where I go, I always get fire works for my birthday! Actually, when I was a kid, my parents used to lie to me and tell me that the fireworks were for my birthday and I felt really special. Then I grew up and realized that there was something called Independance Day! No wonder I'm all messed up! LOL!
I'm going to the Milwaukee zoo on Sunday with my hubby and my 10 month old daughter Ella. I'm hoping she likes wild animals! It may be quite an experience!

I will dream of becoming Lucia Ryjker(sp), from Million $$ Baby, or the character J Lo played in "Enough" so I can choke the life out of my neurotic dh or beat the stuffing out of him whichever comes first, for THE ENTIRE WEEKEND.

Maybe I should prepare myself tonight by doing KPC along with KM so I can squat, sidekick him into the wall, then grab him in his chest and roundhouse kick him into the second wall, then back kick him into the third wall, and b/c he's always cracking up about knee smashes, I'll knee smash him into the fourth wall and ;) afterwards.

Everyone enjoy your weekend and have a little fun for me PLEASE.

I'm gona venture downtown for the fireworks. havent done that in years cuz theres just thousands and thousands of peeple. Its been less aggravation to just stay home! Anyway, someone elses post reminded me of the zoo - thats sounds great! Maybe I'l try that this weekend too! Last time we went they had 4 baby tigers they let us bottle feed. absolutely adorable!

Happy birthday, Robin! I am doing yoga both days of the weekend and we are going to see the fireworks on Monday. I have taken two days off because my knee has been bothering me. I cannot barefoot it as I have been because without my orthotics my feet get mad and they tell my knees who tell my hips and they have an aching party. I cannot beleive July is here already!

Angie I work hard all day, well almost. I put up with this old woman who won't retire. She can make a drunkard sober up in a day.

Well anyway, dh's at the gym all day and during the day the gym is not busy b/c everyone's at work or school. The minute I get in from work, boom he disappears leaving me with the after work/school crowd. I can't even take my shoes b/c everyone wants water, no one knows how to speaka de english anymore, no one knows how to w/o anymore. Don't get me wrong I wish I can work 24/7 at the gym, but damn give me a break I'm coming home from one job so he should be a little considerate and let me unwind first b/4 cutting out. When I mention this to him, he starts to whine like a baby and actually throws temper trantrums. It's a BIG mess, I would be here all day typing. So you get the jist.

Ew! Haydee: DROP KICK HIS ASS! i'll help if you want!}( i can't stand whining! ugh! sorry you have to put up with that crap! i say fake a headache and leave him there alone!

yes nancy! big bash at our house./ we live outside the city limits, so every 4ht and NYE, we have the gang over and blow stuff up for several hrs. b/t the 3 men purchasing artillary, we end up doing fireworks for at least 3 solid hrs. last year kelly shot eric in the chest with a roman candle, the year before that beki shot a bottle rocket into the garage , dented the hot water heater and it bounced of my car and dh has nearly blown up the ac unit with a whole string of black cats! can you say "are we having fun yet!" but don't worry! every one stays the night so there is no drunk driving and we have a "blast" we ordered 12 lbs of bbq, all the trimmings and i am making a nectarine cobbler!:9 should be big times:7

We're doing like you Nancy, just staying home and doing absolutely NOTHING! Ah heaven! :) oh and we saw Batman Begins today, Christian Bale is so hot!

Haydee, I'm so sorry he's being such a baby! You do need to take a vactation ALONE. When you're gone he'll realize how much he depends on you and maybe be nicer in the future.

Jes, that cobbler sounds wonderful! Please send me some :).

Everyone have a safe and happy 4th. For those of you in other countries, have a great and safe weekend too.

Nadine
