Yes, Big Red is a soft drink. Actually it is a gum also, but I can't stand the gum. I love the soft drink. I went to Oklahoma once and couldn't believe there was no Big Red. I was only like 5 minutes out of Texas. What's up with that?

Kelley, the things we take for granted here in Texas. I've been to places that don't serve Dr. Pepper. That would be cause for a whipping here in Texas.

I remember the first time I was introduced to Dr. Pepper - about 1956 in Wichita, KS, along with bright red hot dogs. I mean red with food coloring. Heaven knows how I lived to be my age when we ate food coloring like that while being blissfully ignorant about how it would cause all sorts of gastly ailments.

Around here Big Red is the Irish Setter who chases me when I'm on my bike. It's AWESOME sprinting practice.
