We're in This Together (2/25-03/03)

LBB the BOMB!!!

LBB!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
YES YES I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!

You all were right (I never doubted you guys for a sec). Wonderful, wonderful w/o. My lower body is on fire!!!!! I may need crutches tomorrow.

WTH, Open Discussion has a virus???!!! I'm scared to go on there.

Colleen
Everyone is on the Jillian 6 week, 6 pack band wagon now :)
Yup, 30min and she does you good. About Michelle, how is her cardio? IDK, it's hard for me to open up to new trainers. I'm picky.

I must go recover now. My legs are trembling.

Good night to everyone :)

Everytime, I open the forums, I get a virus warning not just open discussion.
Michigan is the national focus tonight.
Have an interview on Thursday, hope for a second with an internship host.
The job interview is NOT what I want but the company is large and I could get my foot in the door.

Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed LBB!! I love when Cathe says "who designed this workout??" and then she laughs. So cute!

As far as Michelle Dozois, her stuff is pretty hit or miss for me. She's definitely not Cathe, her personality is more like a hyper poodle where Cathe seems more laid back to me (which I like). She is a nice instructor though and I don't really find her energy that annoying. She seems sincere. If an instructor rubs me the wrong way I have such a hard time working out to them even if the workouts good! I do like her Cardio Interval Burn. I'm pretty sure I will like the new CIB too...I totally blame ttotm on my issues today! She's pretty high impact and tends to do a lot of bouncing moves rather than more controlled plyometrics. I also like her Your best body, Ultimate Circuit workout. That one has some good band work in it and has less high impact. It's a little easier though. Her cardio interval strength was a miss for me as well as rocking cardio jam and ultimate body workout. Her choreography was a little weird for me in the latter two and I don't trust her form with weights. The CIS especially tweaked my knees big time. The only instructor I trust with my strength work is Cathe actually... her form is awesome!

Okay, gotta go. TTYL girls!

Hello girls!

Sorry for being away for long but life has been more hectic than ever here... Last week we went to Emergency Medical Center twice because DH had a bad gastritis attack once again :( This time he's going to do a gastroscopy on Friday. Didn't sleep for 2 following nights and on the 3rd one didn't sleep because of Riccardo's teeth... We miss just one tooth and I'm praying it will come out as soon as possible or I think I won't survive  :D... On Sunday went to work at 6.30 a.m. and came at home 12 hours later, as I've been asked to help with the renovations of a shop of our chain. Spent all day lifting packing cases, putting every item on the shelves...Didn't stop for a single sec and when came at home was really dead tired!
And last but not least, yesterday Ricky fell ill (nothing serious, just a bit of asthma due to a very light bronchitis, no fever, no sore throat so far), so went to the pediatrician and now I'm running after him as he does not want to breathe his aerosol medicine...That is the icing on my cake  :D
Obviosuly I had to stop from working out for a few days but decided to resume from TB, which I did yesterday, and will go on as planned until Sunday.
We are having some changes at work, big things in store, and I really missed my Cathe hour which is so helpful in stress-control.
Nutrition has been poor in these past days, but the scale doesn't show any sign of big damages.
I hope you guys are fine and doing well and having fun with your fitness programs!
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning :)

Open Discussion still gives me that stupid warning . I hope SNM finds out what is causing it.

No big DOMS to report........yet.

I forget to tell all of you my "incident" with our neighbor below us. 2 days ago, at around 5:30pm, we hear a knocking on the door. I was in my PJ's and so I let Mark answer the door, while I went to the bedroom (I did not want anyone obviously seeing me in them.....ok I get embarrassed. They have penguins on them ok). The lady below us is frustrated that our daughter is running around the house and stomping. Her husband works nights and she has to "study". HELLO!!!! Ok, she obviously does not know toddlers. All they do is run and jump!!!! It was 5:30 in the evening........in our living room for heaven's sake. BUT, we are considerate people and Mark sympathizes with shift workers and so we felt bad......but angry too. Does she want my child to just sit and watch movies all day? It's good she has energy and plays......or else I would have a problem. I'm sorry, I have no sympathy for someone who needs to study w/noise. Go to another room, put headphones on, listen to static noise or ocean waves. You live in an apartment sweetie!!! It's not noise at 2am, it's normal "living" noise at dinner time. As for the shift worker, I am going to try and have Bella not run over the master bedroom (all the bedroom's align here). AND I am going to get a bunch of good quality puzzle mats for my exercises to absorb some of the impact and sound from my noisy exercises (also maybe doing more low impact). I'm trying to be considerate because I know how hard is it to live under a person who makes noise. I spent 15 years living in varies apartments so I know the other side of the coin. But for the love of pete, you don't live in a detached home. Living in an apartment, yes you have to be considerate of your neighbors, but you still have to live. In Canada, you can't claim noise pollution until 11pm. The police will just laugh. The superintendent can't really say much because the noise is during daylight hours and we are just "living" not blasting music at 3am.

Ok, had to majorly vent. Thanks for listening.

Today's w/o is Imax2.

TTYL

Natty I totally agree with you and understand exactly how you feel.Bella has all the right of jumping all around and make noise because she is just 3 years old! I can't make my son stay still and quiet for more than 10 minutes....it's normal, they're kids! We are lucky because we live at the 1st floor and under me we have our basements, otherwise I couldn't even workout.I hope you'll fix this neighbours' thing as I know it's really annoying when you can't feel free at your own place.I'm sure the solution you came up with will be a very good one.Have a nice day!

Ellie

I am so sorry to hear about your husband and Riccardo. Poor them AND poor YOU!!! I know what you mean about the inhalers. Bella HATES THEM!! She screams and cries and it's so stressful. Now that she understands "bribes" it's getting a bit better, but holy when she was 1 1/2, it was complete and utter torture. Hang in there mommy!! And don't beat yourself out about eating bad and not working out. Life is so hard and we do the best we can. I know saying this does not make it easier, but just know that there are people just like you (me) who are going through the same struggles. Lots of support and hugs from me to you.

As I am writing this, I'm awaiting for my delivery of tables & chairs. And of course, when it rains it pours, I think Bella may have croup cough. Mark just went to make an appointment with the walk-in, as it can take HOURS waiting time. I can't stand waiting in a clinic while my daughter is sick and cranky. Free healthcare in Canada, which means everyone jumps to go to the doctor, which means soooo many people and hours of waiting. Even with an appointment. Unless you have lost a limb and are taken to the ER, you gotta wait.

The apartment thing sucks. Thats something I've never done before. I have always lived in a house. I know that I am very lucky. My husband just got a promotion and has a 60 + mile commute and we have been talking about having to move back to the city. Even that scares me, I much prefer living in the middle of 14 acres with no neighbors except for my parents.

Ellie - I'm sorry things have been crazy bad for you.

Nat- I'm glad you liked LLB. I think I need to start sneak downloading some of the workouts. Maybe it will fly under the radar and won't get noticed by DH.

Yesterday I did STS LEGS and Jillian. I know, but I couldn't resist. I just wanted to try it and didn't want to screw up the rotation. I liked it and I didn't go as fast as she does.

Today is another sick kid and AT.

I am thinking for my next rotation I want to do something thats more endurance training. When I lost 10 pounds in the fall it was with Meso 1 which is endurance. So I am thinking that might jive with my body more.

Yesterday I made Butternut Squash Soup and I licked the bowl clean. You would have though it was chocolate pudding. It was so velvety and creamy very satisfying.

Tonight by husband won't be home for dinner. I am planning on making broccoli soup. My kids very favorite veg is broccoli and my husband hates it so I try to always make it when he isn't there. I've never made it before. I can't say as I have ever ate it either. Should I make just broccoli soup or broccoli cheese soup?

Sarah

STS Disc 23 today, legs. Almost done with Meso 2! Yay me! :D

Ellie- I'm so sorry too about all the crazy stuff for you right now! My son is the same with inhalers too...and he's 7. I can't hardly blame them, it is weird to inhale that stuff even though you know it will help. Dylan gets upper respiratory colds a lot and has had pneumonia several times. The last time we had to do a nebulizer in the doctors office he was so tight in the chest. It was really scary!
It's so hard to stay focused on yourself with working out and nutrition when everything is crazy around you! Just do the best you can...there is always tomorrow and you can always get back to things when stuff calms down!

Natty- I'm so sorry about your neighbor situation too. Like you said, it is easy to understand both sides of the coin but kids are going to be kids no matter what! People just have to learn to deal with that. Does your neighbor have kids? I always find people who are childless just do. not. get. it! You can't blame them really...it's just ignorance that they can't help since they've never dealt with it themselves! On the positive side, you are going to love having puzzle mats! Your knees will thank you!;)

Sarah- I looooove broccoli soup! With or without cheese it's all delish! Of course, being from Wisconsin I'd probably have to vote for cheese!:p

Have a great day girls!

Hi ladies :)

Very busy day for me. I took Bella to the walk-in clinic for suspected croup cough (I've never heard her cough that way) and 102 degree fever she's had for 3 days now. Thankfully, it's not croup, just a flu. She has to take her damn puffers again . Two different kinds: the blue and the orange. My table and chairs came. One damn chair, of course is broken. That's my luck with stuff that's delivered. Either broken or missing parts

I was supposed to do Imax2 today, but I opted to refrain from high impact step. I did pull out Jillian's BFBM. Had not done that one in almost 1 year. I got a great kick butt cardio w/o, BUT it's so much easier now!!!! I used to die during that w/o, literally drop down at the end. I sailed through it. It was still challenging, but nothing compared to CCC. Cathe has conditioned me well. I was proud of me :)

I am doing the March rotation!!!! Anyone want to join me??? Also, I am part of a Push-Up challenge. Who knows if I will get to 100. I hate push-ups. But I am gonna try.

Sarah
I know what you mean about the house/apartment thing. Last year I had a brand new home, 2000sq ft detached, but I had to sell it. It's a long, sad story. I will tell you guys about it one day. But yeah, I miss it truly. Your soups sound amazing. I have never made soup from scratch.......I'm lazy. But feel free to deliver a batch to my home any day :p. Who is sick now? OMG the sick kids across America/Canada is never ending.

Collen
Congrats with Meso 2 completion! I am so happy for you :)

Good night everyone :)

Tomorrow or Friday, I will check up with everyone individually.
VERY rough day. My cats were fighting early this morning, my UVERSE quit working plus lower back pains. Then, I havent gotten chosen for an internship yet only a rejection letter (putting me on hold for a later date, person seems more interested with my Dad's experience anyways). Then the woman whom cornered me wanted to hug me today and offered to come to my house to make new fashion combos of my clothes NOT. She sat next to me all day long. Bad day. Will only pursue internships one more week then it's back to job hunting because most of the program will be done next week. My interview got cancelled for tomorrow. Thanks for letting me vent. I'm really upset. Wasn't going to check my email but someone else got some tonight so I knew I had too.

Hi everyone!
Thank you all for your kind words. You're really a great support to me...I know you've been through the same things and you just understand exactly what's going on here just right now.
Yestrday did CCC, felt less difficult than the last time I did it. I think this February rotation really conditioned my lungs/heart well, I felt I had much more stamina and endurance than usual. But hey..It's so taxing and demanding! never felt so tired after 6 days high impact cardio/ heavy conditioning!
I was looking at the March rotation with great interest, but will probably start it a week later because next week I will be pretty busy at work, plus on Monday I'm out all day as I'm attending a refresher course so no time for working out at all :(
Well you guys following STS made me so curious that in the end I made up my mind a purchased as DD discs # 3 and #26 (legs from meso 1 and 3) also because I noticed Cathe often suggests a plyo leg workout of choice in her rotation. Today I'm going to try disc 3 instead of LBB...I'm so excited about that!

Sarah: yesterday it was mixed broccoli salad for us: I love broccoli, how about your soup?

Natty: so sorry to hear about Bella's flu and about your chair too!:mad:What a nuisance! Hope you can get a new chair asap! I'm not very lucky too with furniture... When we bought the wardrobe we had to wait 3 months for one of the door that was missing because they brought the wrong one, I was getting mad at keeping dust away from clothes!

Jen: so sorry for your bad day. Hope tomorrow everything will go back on the right track!

Collen:The last time we had to do a nebulizer at the ER too because Ricky couldn't breath at all! I was scared because he refused to stand still so I held his legs, my husband his hands and the nurse made him breath the medicine, while he was screaming like if we were torturing him to death! :( I hope spring will be a better season !:)
Off to my chores...and to my workout too!
have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning :)

Jen
I just read your post and felt so incredibly sad........and angry. What can I say, but we are here to support and listen to you. Life just tests you beyond your limits sometimes and it really sucks. Hang in there! I am sending you lots of hugs and prayers.
Ellie
I agree about the rotation conditioning your lungs. Plus my butt and legs have never been so sore in my entire life!!! I am doing the March rotation, it looks great.

Question for you guys. I am not planning on becoming a runner, but Cathe's rotation has a 45min interval treadmill run. Which Cathe w/o can I use in it's place? Don't tell me to run on the spot or walk briskly. That ain't happening. You think an Imax would do?

I'm so sorry about your day yesterday Jen. Stress sucks, luckily we are the types of people who know to handle stress in a healthy way with exercise! Doesn't make it much easier or less frustrating though.:(

I finished disc 24 today and I'll be taking tomorrow off. I'll be just doing cardio or circuits with light weights next week. I'm planning on doing Afterburn on Saturday. I'm stoked!:D BTW, I lucked out and a super sweet VF'er is sending me her copy of Turbo Barre for free! It was totally unexpected. She said she had some great experiences in the past with people on the board who had helped her out and she wanted to "pay it forward". Isn't that awesome? I immediately felt the need to balance the universe and do it for someone else so I contacted this lady on there who had wanted one of my workouts but we were unable to work out a trade at the time. I told her what happened and that I now wanted to send her my workout. :) Sometimes nice things do happen! Now we'll just have to see if I can manage to do TurboBarre without hurting my knees! I've come to realize that I can't do the plies up on my toes (in releve) without practically hearing my knee joint grind. I'm going to try the workout flat footed and see what happens.

Ellie- you are going to love the STS leg workouts you downloaded. I especially love disc 26 (the plyo leg one). That was my favorite plyo leg workout of the 4 in Meso 3. I actually purchased Meso 3 months before I acquired the other two because I so wanted the plyo leg workouts! Disc 3 is a great endurance leg workout and there is even a little barre inspired bonus at the end.

Natty- I don't know what to suggest in place of running on the rotation. I am soooo not a runner. I really hate it with a passion and it killed my knees every single time I tried to run. I read a post by this one woman on VF once that summed it up for me, she said that her body just wasn't built for it...if she had been born a racehorse she would have been sent to the glue factory years ago!! Yup, that's me! lol I would just do the Imax workout. I'm sure any sort of steady state cardio would be fine.

Sarah- I hope your kids are getting better! Where are you on STS again? We are pretty close right? You should get the STS ticker thing! If you go to Cathefun in the workout manager you can download it.

Today,I'm giving myself a break even from working out. I did get a call for an internship in another city but it's for something that is not new or will not challenge me. The company who contacted me over one week ago, no one has heard from. Tomorrow, I plan to be back on some routine but might go out at night too.

Hi everyone :)

Today's w/o was Jari Love's Slim& Lean (in place of High Reps, which I will get soon). I am sad to see this rotation go.......it's done a great job in shaping my LB even more. I GOT 4DS TODAY!!!!! EXCITED BEYOND WORDS!!!!

Jen

I was thinking of you lots today. I hope you are doing well.

Colleen
I truly believe in paying it forward and the saying what goes around comes around. Karma is real. I could not believe a Cathlete (Jean Fran) sent me 5 shock cardio w/o's and did not expect a thing!!! I sent her a very generous gift yesterday. Not because I felt as if I needed to repay her, but because I wanted her to know that I really appreciated her wonderful and sincere gesture. I'm glad you decided to give TB another chance. Do not go so deep during the plie's. Yes, they will strain your knee's. But those leg lifts, oh dear my. Get that leg up girl!!! They won't hurt your knee's and you will get a KILLER thigh & butt w/o!! Also the UB portion with those little 5lbs, is evil. Talk about high reps!!! Love, love TB. Ok enough said. Thanks for the running suggestion BTW. You were right. I asked Natalie (nhansen) on Open Discussion (she is a runner) and she told me the same thing. I won't run, sorry, it ain't my thing either.

Have a great evening ladies :) I hope you all had a wonderful day :)

Nat - Don't get me wrong I may live on 13 acres, but I'm trailer trash (manufactured home). It was a trade off so I could move out here, and be a stay-at-home mom. Someday I would like to build a house here. I do feel like this is the best place for my family. My parents live about 300ft away, but I can't see their house. My father had Polio when he was a kid and can hardly walk any longer. So the purpose was to be able to help my parents as they get older and pick up some of the slack for them. I am very lucky to have this opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom but it isn't for everyone.

That new rotation looks a bit scary. It's 6 days, and did I see 2 workouts sometimes?

I hope your daughter is getting better. Sick kids suck. But I do love to cuddle with them.

Colleen - You scored with TB. Hey, by the way, what happened with elliptical?
I made the brocolli soup with cheese and it was really good. I do love soup.
I am on Meso 2 of LIS/STS 3rd week. Good job on Meso 2.

Jen- I hope your cats let you get some rest, so you can de-stress a little. I know you can't about the employment part, that won't lift. I hope you had a great rest day from working out.

I did ab ripper and STS 21 back and biceps today, I think?

Sarah

I forgot to tell you, I also made my own yogurt yesterday. I don't know what's gottin into me? It was really good though and super easy.
