Good morning ladies :)

Today will be grocery shopping and SJP later on. I'm kinda excited about that one. I have never done it in its entirety (with weights) but it's on my rotation and I have the 70+min to devout today. Tomorrow I have my sis' sweet 16 party at The Mandarin which is a Chinese buffet. I really go all out when I eat there :p. Hiit 40/20 is on the rotation but I might do Imax3 to really blast all the calories I'm gonna eat

Have a good weekend everyone :)

D'oh! I did it again...posting on the old thread this morning! I'll get the hang of this I swear. Maybe we could look into a monthly thread?
Okay, today is my rest day and I get to start Meso 3 tomorrow!! I'm so psyched! I can't believe I used to be such a cardio only girl. I hate staying away from weights now! My body just plain craves weightlifting these days.
Okay, gotta go...busy day today! TTYL

Sure, if anyone wants to do a monthly thread instead, that's ok. I posted it once awhile back if people wanted a monthly, but no one responded so I left it at weekly.

Jen is not coming on Cathe's site for fear it is still giving her viruses. She is sending me messages on FB. I wish I could her help her out :(. Mark says she might have to reformat her entire hard drive. Are you guys ok?

Today was a great w/o with SJP. I love the step combo's, hi/low and weights alternating. My arms were trembling at the end. Lovin' it!

Colleen
I totally agree with you on the weights thing. Since following rotations, I am forced to do more weight training, and I love it! I was never a big cardio gal (I still dread it sometimes) but I have this fear that if I don't do cardio, I will gain weight (especially in the winter). Summer I'm out all day walking, and so I neglect my cardio a lot. I am thinking of doing a serious UB/LB weight training rotation "get ready for summer". I hope Cathe comes out with a kick a** one, or else I will have to look and see what peaks my interest. If STS is on the daily deal for March, I am snatching up that sucker. Congrats on getting to Meso 3!!! You totally rock!! You should be SO PROUD.

Have a great weekend ladies :)

Hello,

Today I did Gym Style Chest & Triceps and Core Max (routine #2). This is my second week doing the Gym Style series since I decided not to start STS until I get a pull-up tower and a few more heavy dumbbells.

Have a great weekend!

Been on the website a few times today with no problems later after I used more anti-virus that is free from Microsoft. I prefer not to reformat due my job info. is all here. I hope to get a smart phone tomorrow to follow some companies to inquire which might help me get a job. I guess its the trend now.

Changed my password so I should nt get anymore viruses and no more emails about it.

Did Yoga Max for the first time, I liked the workout except for all the down dogs. I am feeling it today.

Forgot to change back my clocks last night although I reminded everyone else earlier this week. Not going to make it to church today. My cat, Madrid, tried getting me out of bed too.

Jen- I hope all your little fixes with your comp are working so you don't have to reformat. Good luck learning your new smart phone, it takes me forever to learn a new phone.

Natty - How was your sister's party dinner?

Colleen - Do you feel rested from your rest week are you ready for Meso 3?

I had a bad day yesterday. My stove top broke for good this time. We had been limping by the last 2 months having to turn it off at the circuit breaker eveytime because the touch pad doesn't work. Now it just wont turn on. My ice maker isn't working either.

I spent all day Friday baking for the dessert walk for the school carnival. 6 batches of cookies, 4 batches of cupcakes, 2 batches of buttercream, I couldn't help but to sample some. It's really hard to bake and not eat any of it. The kids had friends spend the night so I had a house full of 5 kids. What was I thinking? I clearly wasn't. I couldn't make pierogi last night so we went out for dinner at a greasy Mexican food place and came home had snickers pie that I had made with my daughter. It was good. I didn't exercise on Sat. and finish out the week. Hopefully I will today.

Sarah

Sarah-Hope you get your appliances fixed soon. I know its a pain when they dont work.
Natty-Yes, lets go weekly. Did you have fun at your sister's birthday?
Nikki-Wow!! Your workout schedule amazes me. Yes, STS does work better with the tower.
Colleen-hope life is going well.

Yes, my life has gotten easier since I changed my passwords even with the virus, my pc didnt slow down at all. The Microsoft Security did help too, since its free. My new friend is a techie guy so he has been helping me out alot with the phone thing already. The internship is going ok, I will have to stay on til he launches it. The job hunt needs improvement. I plan to visit my Mom on Monday. Going to do Trisets tonight. I FEAR Cathe's next set of workouts, she spent the whole weekend in NYC learning new stuff.

Good evening ladies :)

Back from a lovely chinese buffet for my sis' sweet 16th. The food was great. Tried a little bit of everything, did not stuff my plate. Dessert was FANTASTIC! There are so many tarts, pies, bars, cakes, cookies, waffles, ice cream, pudding, oh dear heaven it was awesome. I also sampled a little bit of everything, trying not to overdo it, as I have a big weakness for dessert over food. Afterwards, we went to a nearby park with some of my relatives and the little ones. The whole city was out and about, walking, biking, running, roller blading, walking their dogs. Got to walk a lot, which was so nice. I love walking. It's my favorite form of exercise.

I am taking a day off today. I will do Imax3 tomorrow to burn off some of the cals (ok a lot of the cals) I ate today.

You know how I said my family is not really into health/fitness right? I gave my cousin (22 yrs old) some of my w/o DVD's and now she is doing yoga. She told me today at the party she was sore from yesterday. She also is showing interest in wanting to go biking with me this summer. I usually take my bike and ride down the lake shore/trails in Toronto. It's tough on the legs & crotch area (sorry if that was too vulgar), cuz' you are on it for 3-4 hours, but I truly love biking. I am glad she wants to join me, but of course she is one of those girls that has this beautiful body and does not need to work hard to maintain it. Freak of nature I tell ya!

Sarah

That really sucks about your stove top, I am sorry to hear. I was told by a repair guy who came in to fix my over-the-stove microwave 3 times in 6 months (it was brand new) AND fridge (that was new too) that they don't make appliances that last purposely anymore. I am wondering when Bella goes to school, if I am gonna be the type of mom who bakes for her school. I think not. Maybe cuz' I can't bake for s**t and I'm just lazy like that. I will however accompany the kids to track & field. Great that you did it though! I admire that.
Jen
I am happy to hear everything is ok with the computer. It's always handy to have a techie nerd around. Have a great day with your mom too.

Have a great evening everyone :)

Natty-LOVE food too! I went for a walk instead of Tri-sets and decided to get ice cream too. Your cousin is not 40 yet so starting healthy living habits is good to start now. Make sure you wear bike shorts, it takes care of those problems. I wear them under baggy shorts.
*Now, I am not be with my Mom till Tuesday due to a dinner she might do for my Dad and one of his colleagues, whom is FINE. Feeling positive about the job hunt, I needed one in October. Have a Great Night, Glad to be back.**

Need to Vent. My new friend was helping me out on FB concerning my new possible phone that keeps getting delayed THEN someone else came in and hijacked the thread literally the my friend dissappeared. So, I emailed my new friend to see if he could help with questions cause I think he's not happy with this other person although he meant well. Roadtrip cancelled.

Well, yesterday I did disc 25 STS chest and back of Meso 3 and Hiit 30/30! Lots of time to workout on Sundays (usually) so I get to double up like that if I have the energy sometimes! I got a little frustrated with the STS workout because I still feel like I don't have my 1RM's right on my workout sheets. I often had to adjust my weights on biceps and triceps to a lower weight with my Meso 2 workouts because I had over estimated them. Now with Meso 3 I had to heavy up because some of the estimates for chest and back we're too light! I decided I just need to use dumbells for the chest presses instead of the barbell since now it's just getting to heavy to do safely without the turbo tower. My wish list is getting longer as I was looking online for a heavier weight vest (mine only goes to 8 lbs)
for leg stuff too! I have a feeling after taxes are over I'm going to be like a dam breaking and flooding...I'll want to buy it all at once!!

Jen- did you mean you're not going to be able to go on the Cathe road trip? That's such a bummer! Hopefully your computer is good now. I need to get a new phone too. I have a Blackberry that is over 2 years old now and it's ancient by today's standards! When I checked out my sister's android and how fast the internet came up I was super jealous! I just gotta get in to the Sprint store and do it.

Sarah I'm sorry about your stove too. Natty, you're right...they absolutely and purposely do not make appliances to last anymore. It pi$$es me off to no end. Sure, let's keep the economy going by buying more large appliances meanwhile the landfills keep getting the old ones. It makes me not want to bother spending money on an expensive one since they probably won't be any better than a cheap one! Why bother even? Not only that, but when something that should be relatively cheap to fix goes out on an appliance, they make it so expensive to fix what you have that it usually makes more sense just to buy a whole new appliance! Ridiculous!

Okay, gotta get the kids up for school. No workout for me today. Tomorrow will be Plyo legs! I can't wait! :p

sorry for the misunderstanding, the road trip is to visit my Mom today in northern MI. Even GMA stated the weathe could be wild here today and tonight with hail and tornadoes. Good news, I was able to pull my new friend back in.

Plyo legs, major DOMS!!

Hi everyone!

Spring is here.......hopefully.....this better not be a tease or I'm gonna snap!

Spent a lovely time at the park and walking around the neighborhood. Today Mark is going to get a BBQ! We had one at our house last year, but we insisted my mother have it when we sold the house (it was natural gas) since she paid for more than half. We are allowed to BBQ on our balcony (very unexpected). Today I am making some home made burgers with lean ground beef and chicken breasts along with grilled zucchini, all on our new grill!

Tonight is Imax3 as planned. I am veering from the rotation this week to accommodate a short week due to Bella's b-day party on Sat and Mark's sister visiting from Hamilton.

Colleen
I really hope STS goes on sale this month! The 1RM thing has me a bit scared though.....I'm afraid I will screw it up and then my whole workout will go down the toilet :(
Jen
You should keep your conversations of FB private so no one can hijack. Doesn't that just peeve you off? The walk and ice cream sounds like something I would do. I am loving me some ice cream on a beautiful spring/summer day. And not sherbert either! Full fat baby! Dairy Queen banana split heck ya!

TTYL gals!

Hey Natty! I wouldn't get too hung up on the 1RM. I found it tough to get it spot on and used the weights on the sheet as more of a guide. When I felt I had to go down or up I paused the dvd and made the adjustment accordingly. I just made sure to write down the weight I used on the workout sheet so I could update the 1RM on the workout manager. I love that Cathe offers that on her site! It makes it so easy and the information is stored for you. I would suggest only printing out your sheets a few days before your workout though. I keep printing out the whole mesocycle and then have to go back and reprint the pages! I seem to overestimate my biceps and triceps and underestimate my back weights. I think if you use a heavy enough weight when you do the 1RM your less likely to be off. I sort of rushed through it the first time just to get an idea, and I wasn't paying attention to my form. You want to be able to do the reps with good form for it to count...once your form goes if you keep going and count those last few reps your 1RM will be off. It's been a work in progress but it's not really a hassle...it's been kinda fun plugging the numbers in the workout manager. :) I'm a real hard numbers/details/concrete data kinda gal.;)
oops, they just handed me a file...gotta go!

Colleen, my hat goes off to you for doing that. For me with STS, I started out with a weight I could lift, maybe 3 pounds and increased in the duration of the program to what I could handle or challenge myself safely with. Many people from STS used the sheet rigorously though and kept up with it. The weighted vest and gloves became a big factor for me in Meso 3.
** No workout tonight with severe wild weather coming in. Happy I didn't travel north to visit my Mom and happy I didnt do internship stuff today. Job app required a writing sample, the position is for state medicaid and statistical history for payment and what to cover. Felt like the good ole MBA assignment days.**
Natty, LOVE your choices of ice cream. If we meet this spring or summer, we shall eat well and then mabye walk it off.

Imax3 today . This w/o was proof that my cardio has improved dramatically and my legs are much stronger. During the plie jacks, I was able to do them all for the first time!!! My legs are usually screaming, but this time my quads could take it. I went through all the blasts and they were "easier" than last time. I know how tough this w/o is and I'm happy that I got through it and felt worked but not destroyed. I still like this one better than CCC, which has a dread factor.
Colleen
Come over to the dark side and join us hardcore steppers! You entice me with STS, now I must entice you with a full cardio club step! Thanks for the info on STS. See, I'm not the type of person who is diligent enough to plug in numbers and go on the w/o manager. But you have inspired me to do it just so I can get the full benefit and not cheat myself.
Jen
Why a weighted vest and gloves in Meso 3? Would I need that? I hate being "hot", I can't picture myself with more layers, let alone a vest with weights!! Oh great wild weather?! That means it's comin' our way for sure!

Have a good night ladies :)

Natty, Yes, if you hate more layers or being hot, than the weighted vest isnt for you. I used it so I would have to purchase more dumbbells or weights for my barbell.
Colleen-stepping is fun especially with a bigger step.

The weather tonight had hail, high winds and storms which seem to have just ended. The warmer weather is causing many to get ill and wild weather.. Supposed to be 70 and sunny here on Wednesday.

Going to Zumba tonight for my "active recovery week". Jen our weather is awful also. Like 2" of rain in a 24 hour period and hurricane force winds. The power has only gone off once, thats pretty good actually. There are limbs down all over the place.

I am the kind of person who wants to do everything perfect the 1st time however, with STS I didn't want to take the time to do the 1 rep maxes. I just lifted I knew I could lift from previous workouts and was diligent about recording those amounts throught the first Meso and I think I did fine. I saw my body change and my strength increase.

Nat I started learning Imax 3 yesterday as my cool down from AT. The music is great, I think.

I grill probably 3 times a week even in the winter because I have figured out from being lazy that means less to clean up. So if it can be grilled, I grill it!

After using our Coleman camp stove today to make my coffee and oatmeal because I hadn't had any for 3 days : ( I bit the bullet and ordered a new stove to be delivered tomorrow. Yippee.

As part of the menu plan for when DH was gone Taylor chose to make orange sherbert. I wasn't thrilled with this idea because I am not a fan. But we made it yesterday and it was so good. Not just good for "orange sherbert" but good because it was plain old good.

I watched The Help last night all by myself and loved it and sat and cryed at the end. I love watching movies by myself. I really am a loner by heart.

Sarah

Good morning ladies :)

Beautiful sunny day today and a warm 15c. I feel spoiled, usually March is still cold & snowy. Plan to spend the day outdoors, go to the park, enjoy the freedom from boots, gloves & scarves.
Sarah
Zumba looks so fun, but I feel silly dancing, it's just one of those workouts I am hesitant to try. But it's so good you are doing it! Variety is great when it comes to exercise. The music is fun in Imax3, but man Cathe has no mercy. You can tell the workout is pushing her, which I like, then I don't feel like a total wuss. What kind of stove did you get BTW?
I love watching movies alone too (except for scary ones). I relish my alone time, I love doing things alone, now I rarely get the chance. I know how you feel, I'm the same way.
Jen
Hope the weather is ok for you today. We got hit with rain. Hopefully that's it.

Have a great day :)
