We're In This Together (03/03-03/10)

I forgot to mention, if anyone wants to add me on FB, please do so. I am hardly on it, but sometimes I will go in and see what everyone is talking about. My full name is Natascia Savona. I go by Natasha here cuz' my name is spelled really weird (not my fault) and no one can read or pronounce it. The "scia" part is equivalent to the Italian pronunciation of "sha". That's my mother's doing. She wanted to be different.......I suffer for it.

Good evening ladies

Just finished Tabata Inferno (Supreme 90-Day). 30min and I wanted to hurl (I don't purposely do this BTW). I think my body just can't take that kind of w/o in the evening. Mental note for next time.

Sarah
The comment you made about "go commando" lol. I did not want to mention it on the Open Discussion, but I already do ;).

Jen & Colleen, Thanks for adding me on FB. I did not get the chance to look at pics as my daughter was pulling on my leg telling me "NO MORE COMPUTER MOMMY!!!".

Have a good night everyone :)

Colleen and Natty-Great to see you on FB.

Finished LIC tonight, a lot better when my sugar is where it needs to be then I got the pre-meno hot flashes too. Still had fun. Did more internship research. During my workout, I think the crazy person tried calling me but I don't answer phones during my workouts. Oh well...Things going good with the new friend....

Banish Fat Boost Metabolism was the work out for today! I sooo wish she would make a sequel (or 2) to this one! I also found much of it translates well to the rebounder. I did my jumping jacks, cross country skis, high knees, butt kicks, jump rope and moguls on it!

Off to the shower! Be back later to write more!

Good morning everyone :)

So upset, the computer in my spare room (where I do my w/o's) the screen is totally DEAD. Mark said it was just a matter of time. So now, I can't do DVD's (which is ok, I have mostly downloads), BUT I have to play all my w/o's from my little laptop until we fix/replace the screen. Oh well, that's life.

Colleen
I just did BFBM a few days ago. LOVE IT!!! Simple cardio at it's best!
Jen
Yup, I never answer the phone during my w/o's. That's what the answering machine is for.

BBl, going to the McDonalds PlayPlace with Bella. Great. Now I'm gonna get a Big Mac. No salads for me. I can eat that at home ;)

Good evening ladies :)

Today was Imax2
I was proud that I could do all those plie jumps at the end and keep up with Cathe. YAY ME!!!

Hope everyone had a good day :)

Good morning ladies!
I've had super busy days, so busy that didn't manage to switch on my laptop :(
Spent half Friday at the hospital with DH waiting him to have his gastroscopy done (they were almost 2 hrs in late ), Sat and Sun did some errands and big cleaning and enjoyed family a bit as it was one of the few weekends of the year where Dh and I were both at home. Monday spent all day in Bologna attending a refreshing course : when I came at home in the evening my legs were cramping because of all those hours spent seated! I'm not used anymore! before going to bed I tried YR express premix #1: I've never been a yoga addict but it turned out to be a good, quick stretch workout that eased the stress and the stiffness off...I'll bear it in mind for the days ahead.
Yesterday had another tight schedule so no time at all for working out...last time I did something was on Sunday, when I tryed sts disc 26: FANTASTIC!!!!!
Colleen you're so right, I'm so in love with that workout!
It is so.much.fun.!And I really like the 12 reps/30 sec cardio thing too...It will be one of my favourite, for sure!
As for my rotation, I've seen my March shifts at work and I don't like them at all:I will have less time for working out and so I was really evaluating the possibility of doing the 5-days LIS rotation, that would keep me more accountable .I don't know yet though if it will be a good idea or not.
Maybe I'll look for older rotation with premixes/shorter workouts. I don't want to lose all the benefits of this last rotation, so hope to work my LB hard enough to stick with my results.
This week is no rotation at all, it will be a sort of free week in which I'll squeeze in whatever I can due to lack of time (tomorrow I'll be out all day long and Saturday as well :( ), so will try to do my best without overstressing.
At work we're having many changes going on, some people turnover...I hope to hang in there and that April will come soon and bring good news.
I've read you're all doing well...had a lot of fun while reading about Sarah's run and music: you know what is my favourite for running?U2.Not all of the songs, but some of them...The minute I listen to them I would start jumping and running even in my car :D
JT: so happy for your good news from your friend...;)
Natty: I know that the step routines in 4DS are not that easy to catch, I had some troubles too when learning, but that series is so much fun that I really really like it an awful lot!
Got to go now...I wish you all a fantastic Wednesday!

Hey guys.

I have been so busy I haven't had time to check-in but I've been plugging away. Yesterday I did TBT LB, and before that I think it was an STS chest, shoulders, and biceps. I've been eating super clean and even picked up some coconut oil which is really good on some Dave's Killer Bread. It's a little to good which can be a problem if I'm thinking about it all the time.

Nat- Sorry your screen went dead. Hopefully they aren't your fav's like Imax 3I'm gonna learn that sucker next week while it's my rest week. I remember when I used to take the kids to McDonald's play place, like clock work the kids would get sick 2-3 days later. Do you have this problem?

Ellie - I'm glad glad you got some family time. I'm sure that would be really hard not to have very many days off together. Is your snow gone yet? I too am not big into yoga but I'm gonna make myself try one of the Yogas next week on my rest week.

Colleen - We got a new mattress and haven't gotten rid of the older one the kids keep laying it down on the floor for jumping on. I too go and and play on it. It makes everything much funner. Is this what a rebounder is like? I am looking forward to my rest week next week.

Jen - Hope your intership is going good and that's not all.. How's the friend?

Husband is going to Vegas with my brother this weekend for the Nascar Race. I let the kids each pick a dinner and dessert they have never had and they get to help me make it. They look very forward to this every year, and it's a great way for them to try new things which is hard for my kids. TJ picked Calzone (so much like pizza I'm not sure this counts but I've never mad it so it will be fun) and Mochachino Bread pudding. Kate chose Pastitsio (I looove greek food) and Snickers Pie. Taylor chose Pierogi and Orange Sherbert. I have never had Pierogi and I always wanted to try them. What do you serve with Pierogi?

I am on Facebook also but I don't do a whole lot with it, I find it hard to use. Sarah Sperry is my name, I think there are pictures of the little yahoo's.

I have a ton of old Metallica on my Ipod too. I don't listen to too much current music but do love Adele's voice it's very sexy. Kind of raspy, and soulfull.... I would love her voice.

Have a great day.

Sarah

Today was Athletic Training leg cardio express premix. What a fabulous, intense workout in just 35 minutes! I totally go anaerobic during the step segment! I most definitely need to fit a yoga in sometime this week but I have no idea when I will do it. I know how it is so important and yet I feel like I'm wasting my precious workout time:eek:. So ridiculous! I need to get over that mind set!

Sarah- it's so funny, ever since your post about the music I've been on a quest to gather some of my favorite songs/bands from the early 90's on itunes. I made a mix cd. It's making me all nostalgic! I used to love the alternative/seattle grunge type bands during those days, my early college years. I wore a lot of flannel back then! LOL I loved the well known ones like Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden but I also used to delight in listening to bands a lot of people had never heard of like Screaming Trees and the Meat Puppets. I was very anti-Top 40 back then. :p
As far as the rebounder, it's so awesome. It is sort of like jumping on a bed when you were a kid! :D If you get one I highly recommend the Jumpsport 250. The spring rebounders can actually be harder on the knees. The Jumpsport uses bungee like cords instead of springs so the bounce is much softer and better for your knees. You can adjust the tension to make the mat firmer or softer depending on your preference. It's made a world of difference for my joints and I can do many high impact moves on it.
That idea of trying recipes with the kids is awesome! I totally have to do that sometime! Our dinners are always so rushed with our schedules I rarely let the kids help me and I know that's bad. I'm like, get out of the kitchen so I can get this done quick!

Natty- I'm sorry about your computer! We just had ours crap out on us a few months ago. I hate how stuff doesn't last a long time anymore! Our old one got so bogged down with viruses it was ridiculous. Stupid hackers/spammers!

Ellie- good for you for getting some work outs in despite being so crazy busy!! I'm terrible about that. I know if my life suddenly took a turn for the crazy my workouts would go by the wayside. I am better than I used to be...it used to be even an extended vacation would disrupt me and I'd quit for months before trying to get back at it! That's why I'll never get rid of some of my easier workouts even though I'm not using them now...if I ever fall off the wagon I'll need them again!;)

Jen- I rarely answer the phone even when I'm not working out!:p I'm so bad about that...I make Mark answer it! I have this weird phobia about the phone. I just hate talking on it unless it's my sister or Mark. I'd much rather talk face to face!

Okay gotta get going! Have a great day ladies!!

Hi everyone!

What a beautiful spring day. Sunny and a balmy 12c. Mark, Izabella and I walked to this park about 20min away. It was great to actually walk outside without a hat, gloves, boots & scarves and not freeze your a** off. The park was muddy and wet, but that's ok, Bella had on her trusty snow boots and enjoyed splashing around and harassing the local dogs (she loves dogs!!). Good news, Mark is out getting a new computer screen. So now I will actually be able to see Gym Style Legs (tonight's w/o), instead of squinting and trying to go by Cathe's voice alone. Laptops seriously suck when you have sh***y vision.
Ellie
I hope your DH has a good recovery. I see that your life has been very busy, but don't despair. I was there too last year when I had to sell my house and all this other stuff was piled on top of that. My w/o's suffered, but hey that's life. You will get back to normalcy again, don't worry. I think having small children really drains the heck out of you too. I have never been so tired in my entire life!!! Stay tough, you are doing great.
Sarah
I agree, the Playplace is an infestation of germs and sickness just waiting to happen. I am addicted to Purell. Seriously, I'm not kidding. I have to clean my hands and Bella's hands like 100 times when we go to public play places. I'm not a germ-a-phobe, but I don't like the idea of Izabella putting her hands into her mouth after she's just played with public toys. When she goes to school, I am going to have to pack Purell in her school bag and try to train her to use it often. Ya, I know what you are thinking "good luck buddy". OMG coconut oil! I am loving my coconut spread. Your kids menu sounds amazing!!! They have wonderful taste in food. Calzones are friggin' awesome. They are like Panzerotti but baked. Easy to make too. Pierogi's are delish! What kind are you doing? The cheese center? You can pair it with any type of meat, since it's a potato/carb. I love to saute mine in a little bit of onions and butter/olive oil, cracked black pepper :p. I told you I loved food!
Colleen
AT is fabulous. I love the step portion too! See, when you get your cardio club step, it's gonna make a world of difference in w/o's like that! 3 risers is pretty high. I was really into Yoga last year, now I can't be bothered. I'm picky with Yoga stuff, it has to be Power Yoga, or forget about it! I can't meditate and go slow motion, my mind won't shut off and I want to be challenged not falling asleep. I was not a fan of Cathe's yoga. Not that there is anything wrong with it, it just didn't tickle my fancy I suppose. I LOVED TBL Weight Loss Yoga and Jillian's Yoga Meltdown!! I was addicted to them! They made me sweat like I was doing a tough cardio w/o.

Gotta run! I am making pork roast in my slow cooker for dinner :p :p

Hello Friends.
My pc virus has been resolved, I hope. It's been one month since I've reconnected with my friend, not much happening. It would be good to see him in person. Has to be his idea. Good thing, lots going on with the program and job hunting. I think he may seen I asked a former classmate (guy) about LaughFest in town. Whoopi Goldberg will be here, Betty White was here last year. Google it. I do believe the crazy person called me cause she gave me a evil look before the simulation began. Not going to miss her. I plan to miss at least one peer group meeting to stay away and to regain some traction in my life.
Will be back later, have a GREAT day. JT

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday evening was GSL . I thought my thighs were about to spasm . I have to say, that w/o amazes me, especially the killer floor work. I'm pretty certain I can go heavier with the barbell squats and lunges, but I can only hoist 35 lbs over my head safely. I was thinking I could invest in 20-25 lbs dumbell's and use those too (good investment for STS ;) ). What a crappy day out now. Yesterday was a big tease. March really sucks for weather here. Question for you guys, any inexpensive kids party idea's? Bella's b-day is in 1 week, and I am having a small party for her with just close relatives. She is only 3, I don't want to go overboard. Her theme is Zoo Animals, since she loves them.
Sarah
Did you know there are like 10 Sarah Sperry's on FB????? A lot of them have kids in the profile pics too!! Which one is yours???
Jen
That lady is so freaky and weird. I think she has this obsession with you or something. Hope your week is going well despite that.

TTYL :)

Well, I was naughty today. I have to keep reminding myself that kettlebells and STS don't mix! Then the little devil on my shoulder says, "no, just do it...it'll be fine! You know you want to do a kettlebell workout!". Um, bad idea today! I put in Bob Harpers kettlebell cardio shred, picked up my 20 lb bell and started...the first set of swings were fine, then he does one handed swings (a lot tougher with the 20 lb then I remembered the last time I did it!), then back to 2 handed swings...then my back went out!:( I think I strained the lat muscles on both sides, it was right in the middle of my back and slightly in the low back. I was so freaked!! I have never hurt myself with kettlebells before.
I think what I failed to realize is that since starting STS I'm not conditioned for kettlebells anymore and will have to start out with a lighter bell when I get back into those workouts again. Dang it! I took some ibuprofen, magnesium (for the muscle spasm), and iced my back. Then, since I didn't have to be into work until 11:00, I had the time to do yoga after I dropped my daughter off at her preschool. I did Jeanette Jenkins Power yoga, which is a pretty intense workout in itself actually. Natty- I totally think you would love this one if you don't already have it. It's long though, so I usually skip the first chapter and just go right into the 45 minute power yoga section. I had to take breaks throughout but the stretching and held poses really helped my back I think. We'll see how I feel tomorrow!

I can't wait for this rest/cardio week to be over so I can get back to STS! Trying to decide what to do is driving me crazy! I either feel like I'm doing too much or not enough exercise wise!

I hope you guys are having a good Thursday!

Colleen-Feel better soon. Never done kettlebells so I dont know. Take good care of yourself.
Natty-what is GSL? For your daughter, do you have a party city store? They have themed birthday parties for kids. Not sure where you can find it cheaper. Pizza and birthday cake....maybe not.
Ellie-Hope your DH is doing better.
Sarah-Germs are everywhere. My parents gave up on the second kid on that.

Today...the three day simulation is over, parts of it reminded me of my old job. The crazy person is obsessed b/c she thinks she can control my life as a project.... I will not go to an after-party tonight cause she will be there. She doesnt get when you slam a person on the 4th day, this person may not want to be friends. No apology or anything.
She thanked me for cleaning up today for the simulation which her tone was rather condenscending. The facilitators were shocked I started it. The GOOD news is that I will be missing some meetings on purpose so I won't have to deal with her and screen my calls.
My friend. GOD only knows at this point. I will continue to be a friend to him but not lose myself over it....
Peace Out!!!

Colleen - I too have never done kettle bells (would love to try them someday). My back has been very sore lately as well. I hope yours is better, keep icing it. I agree it's very hard to find that sweet spot for rest week.

Nat - No fear, in my kids school they have plenty of antibacterial gel. I the gross one that goes grocery shopping and on the way home bites my nails. Yuck.
I had no idea there was so many Sarah Sperry's.
Have you been on pinterest for birthday ideas? When my kids were little I used to keep it very low key and do dinner, cake, and presents. But you could have Bella make animal masks out of paper plates, and have her do charades for her family to guess what animal she is.

Jen- How much longer do you have to deal with crazy person? Are you counting down the days?

My husband left for Vegas today, we weren't on speaking terms when he left. He was very crabby last night. We didn't get along at all. Hopefully absence will make the heart grow fond.

I did STS 11 Back and triceps today and barely eeked it out in my Uggs, if that tells you how serious I was about it. Yesterday I did CSS, that was good.

Hi ladies :)

Colleen
Awww man, I can feel your pain. I hope you get better quick. I found a heating pad and Aleve/Naproxin worked best with my back pain. You know what, I have been kinda scared to up my weight for KB. 10 lbs is just too light now, but I know how dangerous KB's can be when using incorrect form or weight. I think you better keep away from any form of weight training on your recovery week. Easier said than done, I know, I would probably be just like you.
Sarah
Thanks for the b-day tips....really cute about the masks. I am sorry about you and your DH. Been there, done that, know what you mean. Sometimes they do need to "take a hike". Actually, I'm the one who always wants my alone time and can get crabby......I feel trapped sometimes as a SAHM. I'm lucky I can spend these years to take care of my child, and yet I miss my old life, when I was working full-time and associating with adults on a daily basis. STS is really calling my name. It's $169.99 with the discount until the end of March.
Jen
That crazy lady needs to get a life and leave you alone! What a nut job. I'll be happy for you when you don't have to deal with her. How stressful. Regarding you and your friend, you're right, don't put too much thought into it. If things are meant to be, they will evolve.

I might try 4DS High Intensity Step tonight (my rest day ha ha). It's so tricky, I'm getting peeved off about it! I've got combo 1, 2, 3 down, but 4 is just confusing me. I thought Step Moves was hard, not like this

Good night ladies :)
