We're In This Together (02/17-02/24)

Hee. Yeah, I suspected the rebounder was making CCC less intense. I did get a good sweat in though before my STS so I was happy about that. I just love doing tuck jumps on the rebounder...I feel like a little kid! Something about bouncing just makes me feel happy!:) I can't wait to get that step but I just know what my hubby is going to say "um, don't you already have a step?", Yes, but I don't have this step. I need it!:p He's pretty good about not giving me too much crap about my fitness purchases but he does sort of roll his eyes at the sheer quantity of dvd's I just have to have and all the various toys.
Gotta run! TTYL

I actually ended up doing AT on Sat. My daughters were being snotty and I felt the need to let of some steam. Yesterday, I did LIC and had a great sweat going down to my belly button (thats when I know I've worked hard). I always measured my sweat at Zumba according to where it stopped on my chest, if it's makes it down to my belly button I've pushed myself.

Colleen- You also probably burned lots of calories from just walking up all the stairs to go down the water slides too. At least that's what I do. We have a Great Wolf Lodge about 30 miles away and we go about once a year for just an overnight visit. Thats usually enough for me because the smell of the chlrolrine can get to me. But it is a great time for all.

Nat - I read your post about the cat poo. For me, cat poo is at the top or bottom (depending on how you look at the scale) of the very worst poo. I'm glad I was not in your shoes or bare feet that morning. I also saw you were qouted and it put a smile on my face.

I laughed when I saw that you had thought of Colleen while exercising. No not weird. I did it last week with you but just didn't let you know. It was with Lomax, I thought low impact, step, some kickbox added in, Nat would like this one.

Jen - Glad to hear your getting some nice weather. When I did AT, I had to take a break during and after the dumbell curls with the band. Those are SO tuff for me.

I made homemade granola with my daughter yesterday. I have a 1 daughter and my son like granola the other one doesn't. So I thought maybe if we made it together with the right nuts and dried fruit she might like it. It was with maple syrup, pecans, and dried blueberries. It turned out delicious and she liked it. I liked it, thats a problem.

Have a great day!

Sarah
I determine how hard I've worked by how far down my sweat drips too!! It's so funny, cuz' I just finished 30/30 and was thinking "wow, my stomach is soaked!".
You know what, please don't think you are the only one whose teenage daughter's are temperamental. I had my sister over today (16) and she was acting like the sweetest thing on the planet. Last week when I saw her, she totally pissed me off. Came to my house after school, ignored me, ignored her niece (my daughter), texted, complained, wanted to watch One Direction on my computer all evening. She also mentioned that she "did not eat all day because she was too busy". Then proceeded to down 5 chocolate chip cookies with milk followed by gummy bears . So don't feel bad. It's not just your daughters, it's lots of teenage girls. I remember when I was working full-time and my boss (with 2 teenage daughter's ages 15&16) would come in so distraught by how the eldest was acting (the youngest was very well behaved). Talk to my MIL. One son (my DH) and 3 daughters. Ask her who was the angel (hint, hint, not any of the girls). Not very helpful, but maybe a bit reassuring.

Have a good night everyone. Californication is waiting...

GREAT news: Tonight, I got a call from a company whom is interested in me doing my internship with them from my program. He called me tonight and the formal mixer is not till Thursday afternoon. He saw my customer service experience, etc. plus we both attend the same church. He commended me for volunteering in the Discovery Village which is for kids kindergarten and younger.
AT is harder than I remember, I was drenched tonight. TB was easier for me.

Good morning ladies :)

I was thinking this morning while just lying in my bed, in about 1 month it will be daylight saving time :(. Which means..........Bella will be going to bed 1hr later, which then means I won't be able to do my "evening" exercises, which means I will have to do them in the morning, which means I am up by 5am to inhale my breakfast and get my sweat-on before she wakes . Yup, my mind never shuts down.
Jen
I am so happy to hear about your great news! I hope this is a way for you to get your foot in the door.

Today's w/o is supposed to be B&G. I don't have it :(. I will probably sub w/TB. I am scared of that w/o. It literally destroys me.

Good day to all :)

I did Athletic Training Leg cardio premix today. Love that work out! I just love those firewalker exercises and how they really get the outer thigh and hamstrings. Time to get in the shower. I'll be back later to write more!
Colleen

Congratulations Jen on the great news! That's so awesome! Good luck at the mixer. I also found AT this morning to be harder than I remembered. I was really huffing through the step segment! I think doing STS has decreased my cardio capacity a little bit since I am doing less cardio than before. I just don't have the time to fit it all in! I also think part of it is that I'm still congested from this cold that just seems to linger. Even normally, I just don't have the lung capacity I think I should. I had pneumonia when I was about 4 or 5 years old and was hospitalized for a week (of course this was the 1970's...nowadays they just send you home with antibiotics!). I swear I've never had the lung and cardio capacity that I should have and I blame that. It's a good thing I never smoked!! My poor son had pneumonia a couple of times too and he is the same way. I think he may have a very mild form of asthma. He gets upper respiratory colds very easily too, unlike his sister. It's pretty unusual for her to get sick.

Sarah- I feel you on the snotty teenage girl thing. My sister's step daughter is 16 and they have been fighting non-stop for the last 2 years! It's pretty rough over there. It's especially hard because my sister has essentially raised her (her biological mom lives in Illinois and only sees her a few weeks in the summer) and yet she doesn't get the respect and authority that a "real" mom would! She is constantly undermined by her husband (my nieces dad) and since they aren't on the same page half the time, there is a lot of divide and conquer going on. I am so not looking forward to when Lydia gets to be a teenager! I keep hoping it'll all be good but I know I'm probably just being too optimistic!

Natty-How was TB? It seems a lot of people are doing that one today! Two other girls from the STS thread are doing it too. I so wish I hadn't traded that one. When I first got LIS, I tried it once and my knees really hurt. I realized later I should have tried doing the workout flat footed instead of up on my toes in releve. That would have probably taken the tension off my knees. I'm hoping to get it back through trading on VF...

Have a great Tuesday ladies!

Good evening ladies!
yes, my day is almost over and I'm dead tired. Today DH and I went with our son to Florence, my child suffers from a severe form of atopic dermatitis and we're followed by a doctor who works there, so this morning woke up at 5, drove all the way through (2.5hours more or less) to the hospital, got the check-up done, came home, had lunch, went out again for running some errands (took advantage of having DH at home) and then..I collapsed on the couch :( Luckily my son's skin is improving, we have just to be patient and try to cope with that until he grows up and it should disappear by itself.
I tried to stick to the rotation as much as possible, did Imax2 on Sunday and yesterday TBT LB, today should have been 30/30 but definetly I have no strenght for that. Diet today has been really poor but I don't care, it's not one day off the wagon that will spoil all my hard work.Btw, I'm pretty happy with the results so far: no big changes, but trousers are looser and I definetely noticed that something is happening to my hips...I just want to measure myself at the end of the rotation to see results in mubers!

Colleen: welcome back! You're so right ab(out fine weather! My mood has been really down in the last 2 days :( I hope things will get easier at work even if I know that the next month will be a tough one, maybe the hardest of all. I love AT too, so challenging but so proud of myself when I'm done with that...:D

Natty: I so understand you about waking up at 5 a.m.... Just right now my son is quitting his mid-morning nap but we have days in which he still stakes 2 naps. The point is that when I'm working on 2 following shifts he suffers from "Mom-sickness" and so wruke up at 5 a.m. too when he won't nap in the morning and will be working in the afternoon :(
I've read the newsletter and saw your post...You must have been really happy about that! Hehehehe...

JT: what a great news about your job/interniship! So happy for you!

Sarah: I am scared about dealing with teenagers, I don't know what I will do when my son will be that age but everyone at works is complaining about how difficult is. I'm sure you're doing everything right!

Off to dinner...Have a nice evening!

Good evening ladies :)

I wanted to share a recipe that I made today. Super simple and very delicious!

Primavera Stuffed Chicken Breasts recipe at Kraftcanada.com

Today was Turbo Barre. Wow. Just wow. I have nothing else to add.

Ellie
I am sorry to hear about your son :(. On the upside, I am glad to hear that his condition is improving. I always meant to ask you his name. I don't think you ever mentioned it.
I am so happy you are seeing results from the rotation :D. I will conclude my results in 2 weeks when it's over.
Colleen
You know what, asthma, pneumonia, lung Cancer, all lung related ailments run in my family, so I know how difficult it is. Mark has Asthma & allergies and Bella has been on puffers so many times (for chest infections and suspected allergies). It probably does decrease your cardio capacity.
Are you nuts for trading TB????? Crazy you! Just kiddin', not all people like Barre. That's ok, no peer pressure.

Have a good night everyone :)

Yes, its Wednesday. 28 days till Spring.
Setting some limits with the person from my program, whom I drove around on Saturday. Haven't heard from my friend but that is fine with me.
Plan to be back here on Friday to check up with everyone.
Have a Great Day!!

Good morning everyone :)

DOMS big time in my hamstrings and butt. Lovin' it :D I better be gettin' some results from all the DOMS pain while doing LB w/o's.

Today's w/o is MMA Fusion.

Hope everyone is having an awesome day :)

Hi girls!
STS disc 20 was on the agenda today. I'm loving Meso 2 legs... and here I thought I loved Meso 1! The workouts are so very different between Meso 1 and 2 though. At first glance, when I looked at the workout sheets for Meso 2 legs I thought it might be kind of boring because the exercises are quite basic and she just does 3 sets of trisets. I was sweating bullets today though and I have had crazy DOMS from this Meso! I'm really pushing myself on the weights which I didn't originally think I wanted to do but I love it. :) My legs seem to be slimming down as they get more muscle! My legs will never be slender without major diet changes (plus having such short legs sucks) but I'm amazed at how replacing fat with muscle decreases overall size. Even though I weigh virtually the same I'm still getting smaller...gotta love that!

Have fun with MMA fusion Natty! Have you done that one yet? I prefer the MMA boxing to that one since there are a few moves in it that make me a tad dizzy. She whips around for this one move and then back and it sort of throws me. I don't mind the getting up and down off the floor though. It's definitely a unique workout!

I'm so sorry about your son's skin condition Ellie! That must be so uncomfortable for him. My son gets a small amount of eczema in the winter but nothing that bad. I'm glad it sounds like he'll outgrow it!

Nikki where are you??
Later girls!

Yesterday was another busy day with the kids. Normally we aren't a busy family at all. Yesterday my daughters had "Girls on the Run" followed by a wrestling match for all 3 of them. Girls on the Run is a great global program for 4th grade girls. They talk about food, self esteem, respect, and they learn haw to run a 5K in 12 weeks. My daughters are loving it.

The scary part of the whole moody kid thing is, they are only 10. I fear when they get even older.

Yesterday I did STS PLYO disc 29. I thought I was going to be sore today, but I'm not. That should be a good thing, but I'm kinda disappointed because I really pushed myself.

Nat - I remember when daylight savings time use to screw up the schedule so bad. I know it's only a hour, but it always made a difference. I feel for you.

Ellie- I'm sorry to hear your son has severe skin allergies. Is it painful at all?

Colleen - My husband had pneumonia 5 years ago. When he gets sick now, his body just doesn't get over it on it's own. He usually ends up having to go to the Dr.. His lungs were really affected by this. Are you still feeling really hungry on Meso 2?

Hello ladies :)

Just finished MMA Fusion + 15min of CSS.
I really like Fusion. The moves are different but fun. Kickboxing is not my "forte" and so I sometimes get confused on how to kick, which side ect. I still try even though I'm sure I look like a total dumb a** :p

Colleen
Whenever you talk about STS, I really want to do it. It's so nice to hear you say such positive things about how your body is getting leaner with that program. I love weight training so much. I love the feeling of lifting heavy weights, getting stronger, seeing muscles. My legs are also hard to slim down. I find challenging them with different exercises, low/high weights, firewalkers, barre, the S&D discs has made a drastic improvement. I must be the spokes person for LIS. I am just so darn impressed with that series. Actually, nothing of Cathe's has disappointed me (except for her Yoga and MMA kickbox) but you can't please everyone all the time. I was looking at STS clips today and felt really jealous. Perhaps by the end of this year I might join the lucky crowd. Oh and thanks about complimenting Izabella. Yup, she looks like an angel.......but she does not act like one.
Sarah
The Girls On The Run sounds great for the kids! It's wonderful how the school gets the students to participate in physical activities while learning about overall health. Very important, especially in young girls.
Plyo legs sounds fun. I wanted to download it since it was on my rotation, but I figure I will be getting STS one day, why waste the money.

Have a good afternoon everyone :)

Happy Thursday!! The snow is returning and will accumulate. Doing homework on the company of my potential internship right now. My person from my group, I set boundaries, she distanced herself. My gut is correct on her. I like helping someone out but not be expected to do so. No word from my friend yet. Hope to be at IKEA by Saturday.
Thank you, I appreciate our group. Have a Great Day.

Off to Ikea today yay!!!

Yesterday evening was a bit eventful. I have a glass dining room table and somehow DH lifted the edges by mistake. The glass shattered in a million pieces. A small shard went into my toe. OUCH! Thankfully everyone was ok, but it could have been bad. So now we are off to replace my table (which I have been wanting to do for years now). Not sure if we are getting a table from Ikea or a furniture place called Leon's. We are going to both to check it out.

Today's w/o is Muscle Max!!! First time!! I am pretty excited!!!

Jen
Have a great day today :)

Bye bye for now :)

Morning ladies!
Today's workout was Cardio Supersets from LIS. I love that workout! I sort of do my own premix on that one, especially when I'm somewhat short on time. I do the premix with the whole workout and the bonus step portion but I skip intervals 5, 6, and 8. Those are the intervals that have the disc exercises that hurt my knees- cross country ski, disc jacks and momentum lunges. If I have plenty of time to workout I'll do those intervals but take those moves to the rebounder. I love the bonus step in that one!:D

I was in such a good mood and then I got to work and a contact lens sales rep was waiting for me. Ugh. No offense to anyone in sales but I usually can't stand when they come in. I fit a lens if it's good and whether or not they come in to tout their products does nothing to change how I practice! This particular sales rep is especially annoying for some reason, he just gets on my nerves big time!

I'm so sorry about the glass shattering and hurting your foot Natty!! Is it hurting pretty bad? Will it affect any workouts? I get so nervous with glass coffee tables...now I know I am right to be! I hope you find a great coffee table! You'll have to let me know when you plan on doing STS in the future, I'll make sure to be doing it with you! It's so fun to check in with this series...it really keeps me on track and feels like a fun club or something:).

Speaking of STS, Sarah, I've noticed the ravenous hunger is a little better. I really noticed it the first two weeks of Meso 2! I've been trying to up my protein consumption instead of just overall calories and I think that's helping to curb it. I do have to eat a little something toward the end of the work day to prevent that blood sugar drop though...like an apple or something right around 4:00 gets me through until I can get home for supper. The only other time I remember feeling that kind of hunger was when I was first starting to breastfeed my kids! I was ravenous then too!
Okay, gotta get to work!

ugh. This day started out so good and now it's going down the crapper.:( I was supposed to be getting this elliptical from a lady who is moving to Ohio. She was going to give us this amazing deal on it since she just wanted to get rid of it before she left. Well, for the past 2 weeks she's been avoiding our calls. She mentioned when we went to look at it that she didn't know how much it was worth originally and someone else offered her more money, but that she had promised it to us first and was going to let us have it. Then she finally calls me back today to say she "decided to keep it"...which Mark and I suspect is a load of horses**t. She didn't even give us the opportunity to offer her more money! I'm so disappointed right now I could just cry.:(
