We're In This Together (01/27-02/03)

Good afternoon ladies :)

Enjoyed a wonderful (bitterly cold) morning at the park and walk into a very scenic trail by my house. I hate not getting out and being active, so every little bit counts. There is something pleasantly peaceful about a park with snow and no one but you to enjoy it. Two more months and spring will begin.......I can't wait.

I have no idea what my workout will be today. I know I need to do some sort of strength training. I might to a circuit total body, or a Supreme 90-Day UB.

I was trying to convince my "significant other" that I needed a barbell bar (which I do). I saw one at amazon.ca for $25 w/collars. I thought that was a good deal, but he just rolled his eyes and thought it was silly that I needed more fitness equipment. I don't think he takes my workouts seriously because I do it at home. It frustrates me. I don't go to the gym, my home is my gym. I would be paying $50/month for a gym membership, so why not invest in equipment that I need. I don't use my stuff as a coat hanger and he knows that. Oh well, just venting. Does anyone else have that problem??? People not taking their "home workouts" seriously?

Nikki
It's good you took rest days. That's really important. Baked Salmon is amazing. I love fish & seafood.
Jen
I hope your day went well !!!

Hope everyone is having a good day :)

Today I did cardio supersets upper body for the first time. It was a good one for today as it's a little shorter because now it's my turn to have a sick kid at home. There were some really challenging moves in it. I just love ball exchanges for abs. I always watch Cathe mesmorized because she makes that move look effortless. As for it overall, I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. Besides variety is a good thing.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Sarah

Very quiet here today. I hope everyone is doing well.

Today was an awesome Supreme 90-Day Total Body workout with more emphasis on UB. My arms are screaming already  I really upped my weight for shoulder's and bi's. I like Tom Holland too  I think I may have a small crush on him .

After last nights taco feast, I made a "clean" dinner today with pork chops, broccollini (my new fav vegetable that I recently discovered) and sweet potato. Gotta feed those muscles!!

Have a good night ladies :) Sweet dreams ;)

Hello Everyone.
Meeting went great. Met lots of people in my situation. Many thanked me for getting the carpool together, someone even told me I was a "legend" and bowed too. Extremely tired for not getting much sleep. Felt much anxiety, then Seville acted crazy then got up way too early.
No workouts for me tonight.
The Taco feast sounds great.

Today was my rest day so not much to report! :) Tomorrow I'm thinking MMA Boxing. I'll probably do the athletic/hopping like drills between the punching combos on the rebounder though. Speaking of which...Natty- that's too bad your hubby gave you a hard time about the barbell. My husband has been extremely tolerant this year of the fitness stuff I acquired but he gives me endless crap about the rebounder. He just doesn't get why I wanted or like it. He always says what a "waste" of money it was but it was my Christmas present so oh well. I'm like, quit saying that! I love it and use it which is more than I can say for much of the jewelry he's gotten me over the years...ahem.
Have a great night girls! :)

Good morning :)

Jen
I am so happy your meeting went well! Arrg  I hate it when my cats do that!!!
Sarah
Sorry to hear about your child being sick. It's cough & cold & flu season alright :( I hope they recover quick.
I actually like cardio supersets. I don't have pre-mixes though and have to do the entire workout when I chose it. Yeah, sooooo many planks  But you do get better at them the more times you do it.
Colleen
I miss my rebounder :( I never thought it could ever break  Oh well, I am still getting my barbell bar no matter what ;)

Woke up this morning with massive DOMS in my UB. My shoulder's are SCREAMING  I love it though :D

Have a good day everyone :)

Colleen,

That is funny what you said about the jewelry. It didn't even occur to me until you said that. You are so right. My husband a couple of years ago, got a bigger diamond in my wedding ring for a gift, I didn't wear it before and I don't wear it still but he gives me shit about it. He sometimes can be relentless about my collection of Catheeee (is what he calls her). But at least I use it.

I did STS once in the fall and now I am doing the STS/LIS rotation. I know exactly what you are saying about upper body feeling empowering. I love my bi-ceps and shoulders and am proud of the muscles.

Nat - I have a barbell. I love it, but my father in-law gave it to me. Most of my weights are from my father in-law. They are 40 years old. They look and are a little like frankenstein weights just pieced together and not pretty but they work.

Jen - I remember when we had cats and in the middle of the night hearing what I thought was the cat flying across the room, and coughing up a fur ball. Lovely, nothing like waking up to the sound of someone or something yacking. Sorry.

Sarah

Sarah- The jewelry thing is such a source of anxiety in our house! I finally just had to tell him I don't care for jewelry and not to bother. It's sort of true. I love my wedding ring (I was with him when we got it!) and he did manage to buy me a watch 12 years ago that I liked and still wear, but everything else he's gotten me I just don't care for. I'm really weird with jewelry...I don't wear necklaces or bracelets and all the earrings that I've shown him that I like are ridiculously expensive and I wouldn't even want him to spend the money on it! I'm terrible though...really hard to buy for in general so now I just tell him what to get me!;)

Today was Cathe's MMA Boxing. I love that one. I get a good sweat in a short time without it being killer. Nice intermediate work out. "Talk" to you all later!
Colleen

Yes, I am HOME and I WILL NOT do homework until Thursday. But, I plan to workout on Wednesday. More later.

Tonight in a new discussion on another site for my new program, on the discussion page, I told them I am in a group called "We're In This Together," so I thought it applied to the members of the other group as well to help build community.

Good evening ladies :)

What a beautiful day. Very mild  I thought it was still winter not spring . Went for a nice walk to Nancy's bulk/health food store by my house. Discovered that coconut oil was.....ok ready......$35/bottle!!!! WTH?? Yes, the oil you cook with not put on your body. It's ok, I will stick to my canola and EVOO thank-you. Is that the norm?? I did however, walk out will all the ingredients to make that Wonder Bun Max (Recipe Spotlight). It was pretty tasty actually. Next time though, I will use only egg whites since the yolk kinda' overpowered the other flavors.

I just finished Athletic Step. Wowee  that is some fun, sweaty workout!!! Glad I did it. I was gonna just park my butt on the couch.

Jen
You should be very proud of yourself. Going through all that training and still making time to workout (and shovel damn snow!!). Incredible.
Collen & Sarah
I feel the same about jewellery. I could not care less for it.

Have a good night everyone :)

Natty, I havent worked out since Saturday. The program has been exhausting. Tonight, I plan to though.

Good morning everyone :)

This morning I got a very pleasant surprise from Mr.Evil Liar, aka my scale (a little background info, I hate weighing myself. I usually go by how my clothes fit). Well surprise, I actually lost a few lbs, not intentionally but hey it made me happy :). I was noticing that my clothes were fitting a little looser and so that's when I decided to haul my scale out of storage. Last weigh in was September 2011. I cannot really tell you what I did to lose weight, as I am not really sure myself. I guess a combo of the hi/low workouts and upping my weights during strength training. I have been "trying" to eat cleaner, but I do not consider myself the cleanest eater (hello Kraft Dinner :) ). With me, it's all about portion control. I cannot deny myself foods I love. It just backfires.

I hope everyone is doing great :)
Have a good day!

Yes, scales are evil liars. Portion control works better than what I eat. Although, the past two days, I only ate breakfast and a huge lunch with no dinner.
Not getting enough sleep can mess with your weight.

SOOO happy to be home today.

Just completed TBT LB. Love it!!!!!

Have a good night everyone :)

Jen
Happy to see you are taking some much needed rest days. You deserve it.

Natty you did Trisets Lower Body?? I sooo wanted to do that one after I previewed it today...I got positively giddy after I checked it out (as you probably saw from my geeky thread:p). I had just worked out today though and had already showered. I had lots of time before I had to go into work so I popped it in to preview it. I can't believe I haven't done this one yet. I previewed the upper body portion when I first got the LIS and didn't care for the guitar music (and I'm not one to notice the music in workouts at all). I put the disc away and figured I'd eventually get around to checking out the LB section but didn't look at it until today!

Today was kettlebell cardio. I kept it to just cardio though, since it's my recovery week from STS...don't want to take anymore chances with overtraining after my Burn and Build fiasco!

Later girls! Colleen

I've been sick with the stomach flu the past couple of days. Feeling good now. This morning I was still feeling a few aches and pains, but I managed to get a good workout in. I did Slow & Heavy: Bi's & Tri's and Step Moves. Glad to be back to working out.

Night, night!!

Congrats, Natty! Nice surprise.

Good morning :)

Woke up with DOMS in my LB. I can still sit on the toilet.....for now

Colleen
Yes, I did Total Body Tri-sets LB portion only last night. I agree with your thread (which was very sweet, nice & true) Cathe makes great LB workouts. I don't have her entire collection, but I am working on it ;). Love Paul Katami. He is super hot and a great trainer too ;)
Nikki
I am so sorry to hear about your stomach flu, but glad to see you are feeling better. I can't believe you already did a workout! I'm the same way when I'm sick. All I can think about is when I will be "good enough" to get a workout in. People think I am nuts, I call it dedication ;)

BTW, Cathe played along on my thread!!! She answered what workouts really push her!! Go check it out!! How cool of her to do that :D

Have a good day everyone :)

***with regards to a recovery week, does everyone here take one?? I have never taken a week off in a very long time. Should I?***

Then, homework to do.
Last night, I was fortunate to do CCC but "some days are better than others" as Cathe says and was not into it. Friday is MMA: Kickbox with Step Moves on deck.
Natty-Thank you for your conitnued encouragement and congrats with your clothes fitting better.
