Well, I HAD tickets to see Bill Maher.......

But my cleaning lady threw them away by accident.

I can't figure out which is worse, the money I lost, the fact that I won't see a show I was really looking forward to, or the fact that instead I have to work til midnight listening to insane elected officials & taxpayers yelling at each other. :(

Oh well. Maybe next year.

Wow, I would be really angry about that! I love Bill Maher. Is she sure she threw them away?

Hey, can't you contact the ticket seller and see if you can get the tickets replaced? If not, jeez, that's REALLY unfair! What a disappointment.

Thanks for the sympathy! :) I don't think I can get them replaced. They came from a friend of a friend--I think the guy is a scalper or some kind of ticket agent, but I've never met him & don't even know his name.

You know what sucks? I put them on the DR table SO I WOULDN'T LOSE THEM OR FORGET THEM!!!!!!!! Jeez. I guess I learned a valuable (but traumatic) lesson from this. Next time I'll just leave all my bills on my DR table. ;)

Ugh, how annoying! Are you sure she tossed them? Maybe she just put them in a pile somewhere? (That's what mine usually does. I find things months later in some random pile.)

Girl, I spent the w/e tearing apart my house. I have a bookshelf next to the DR table, & believe me when I tell you I pulled out & rifled through every single book. I looked under every piece of furniture. I looked in all the drawers. I went through all my coat pockets & emptied my purse in the unlikely event I MOVED THEM FROM THE PLACE I INTENTIONALLY LEFT THEM FOR TWO WEEKS. I even scoured my BASEMENT. I don't have much clutter in my house (I have a service b/c of my messy dogs!), so it'd be pretty obvious. It WAS pretty obvious.

At this point I'm not sure of anything & of course they're denying ever seeing them. Which doesn't make up for the fact that they were sitting there when I left for work that morning but gone when I got home that night.

Oh no! Maybe Jodi is right. Can you ask your cleaning lady if she moved them? I'll cross my fingers and hope those tickets are lurking somewhere in a corner.

Edit: I just read your most recent post. Crap. :(

Are you serious?

Gosh, I was wondering if this was a joke. Real sorry to hear that, Laura. I'd be out of my mind were it me. I've got tickets to see Oliver! in London in July. Now please...not a word to your cleaner ;) but they are tucked away

in my bedroom
at the bottom of the closet
under a clothes organizer
in the side compartment
of an office organizer
in an envelope

Anything happened to 'em I would plead justifiable homicide!!
