Hi,
I'm in a weird situation and not too sure what my rotation should be like.
I'm doig a cleanse right now (it goes for a month) which requires to eat only fruits and vegies. I still feel fine to workout, so I want to continue untill I feel like I need to stop. I know I probably won't gain any strength at ths point, but I'd like to at least mintain my strenth and cardiovascular endurance.
Can you help me with making rotation?
Tank you

Hi,
Will you be eating any protein during this 1 month cleanse? Unless you are eating enough protein, then it is guaranteed that you will lose muscle. If you don't get enough calories, then your strength and cardiovascular endurance will not be maintained since you probably will not be able to work out as hard as you usually do.

So, just know that during your cleanse you are not giving your body what it needs to maintain itself, basically enough protein. Also, under eating slows down the metabolism.

My advice is to choose strength training over cardiovascular exercise to slow down the muscle loss. It is easier to regain cardio endurance vs. lost muscle mass.

Since you will be eating a high carbohydrate diet, consider muscle endurance training using low/moderate weight and a split body routine.(Lifting heavy without enough protein/calories is probably a waste of time.)

If you have enough energy, then choose circuit training to get both muscle endurance and cardio in. But, if you don't have enough energy (i.e. calories) then choose strength before cardio.

Overall,listen to your body !!

For the record, I am a vegan--I eat only plant foods, no animal foods of any kind and no added oil. I am very muscular, and easily add muscle--I'm currently using Cathe's high rep-lower weights approach to reduce my muscularity. As a long-time vegan, I have always been able to pack thick muscle on and make consistent strength gains. Vegetables generally have more protein than the human body needs, and there is no such thing as a "complete" or incomplete vegetable protein for humans--that's a myth that was disproved decades ago.

I always have lots of energy for intense workouts and life. I also have the comfort of knowing my bones, kidneys, liver etc. are in great shape since I'm not poisoning them with harsh animal proteins. Don't be afraid to eliminate animal foods--you'll be doing your body and the planet a much-needed favor.
