Weights every day or every other day?

Is it okay to do weight workouts every day, or should they really just be every other day? I really like full body workouts that include cardio and weights like Boot Camp/Terminator...should I be taking a day of cardio-only in between, or can this type of workout be done daily? (I'm not a big fan of cardio only, I like my weights!) Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I do weights every other day, but I do not mix my cardio and lifting. If you are lifting heavy, your muscles need at least 48 hours to recover/repair.

I am pretty much a whimp, I have to be honest! The heaviest I go are 15 lb. dumb bells, and that is only on some of the exercises on PUB and PLB. Would using light weights, like 5 or 8 on the alternate days with Book Camp be okay, or is it just really best to let the muscles rest?

If you did a Boot Camp or other circuit workout daily, you would get sore and tired pretty quickly and soon stop seeing the results you are looking for. Muscle grow and repair themselves at rest, so give them that chance, even if you aren't lifting particularly heavy.

Boot Camp, then a weightr free cardio day, then another circuit, then cardio only day, etc.

Cathe's doing a split in her Feb. rotation though, not full body every day. I would agree with Clare that the muscles need a rest in between.

The only way you should do weights two days in a row is if you exercise different muscle groups, such as lower body one day and upper the next. You should not exercise the same muscle groups two days in a row, because, as Clare said, your muscles need time to rest in between WOs.

You could always chose a cardio-only premix from the DVDs you already own, too!
