Weight Work Only

wonderwoman

Cathlete
I am thinking about trying a rotation for 4-6 weeks where I do only weight work one week (not working the same muscle back to back)and then doing cardio the following week.

Has anyone ever tried anything like this?

I'm not sure if you ever heard of Kelly Coffey but she had a rotation up like this on her website and it looked interesting. I wanted to try it and see what type of results it would yield.

I would not mind not doing cardio, but I would miss the weight work on the cardio weeks. I feel like, as I age, I NEED weights!!!! But I would be interested to know info about this!

It depends on what your goals are. If you are looking at improving your fitness level you can basically do anything if you just challenge yourself enough to get out of your comfort zone.

However, if you want to build tissue, it is a different animal as you need to stimulate the growth hormone release. This is easier for some people than others. Sometimes it takes only a couple of weeks for the right stimulation and then others have to be consistent for 104 weeks to finally see muscle growth.

Visual results are not as important as the internal benefits you get from being simply physical active. Do what you like!!!
