weight vs measure

Maybe there's a dietician out there who can answer this for me. I am VERY anal about my food, I keep a food diary & weigh & measure my food. Before you harp about that, I do enjoy doing this....strange to some but that's me. Anyway, say on a can of no salt added kidney beans it says a serving is 1/2 cup/ 130 grams. When I weigh them 130 grams is no 1/2 cup!!! Quite a bit more. Same with other foods I find. So which do I go by? I like the weighed since I seem to get more but I would like to know which is more accurate?

Thanks!!

Always go by the WEIGHT. Yes, this will be different from the measure. Lots of people overstate their calories because they use the measure (fill the cup to the rim, maybe even a little extra)...The grams is what the calories are based off of.
