Weight Loss Check-In

Cruncholi

Cathlete
Hi Everyone.

I am still at a plateau this week hovering around 142. My eating was not so great again this week, but it wasn't horrible either. I made banana bread with nuts over the weekend, so that didn't help matters any.

My workouts were really good. I have been doing a BodyMax/PS/IMax/Kickbox rotation. I have been slacking off on my running. I should try to get back into that or at least fast walking with the dogs, but it has just been tooooooo cold.

How did everyone else do?

Linda

LAST EDITED ON Nov-11-02 AT 07:05AM (Est)[p]Hi There:

I weigh-in on Saturday and stayed the same...although this morning there appears to have been a drop on the scale. I'll have to keep it up this week and hopefully it'll pay off next Sat.

I had a good week of eating and exercising. I was very active for me:
Mon: 40 min Step Jam
Tues: nada
Wed: 30 min CTX power circuit + 30 min walk
Thurs: 40 min Step Jam + triceps/biceps, 40 min brisk walk
Fri: 60 min IMAX + 30 min walk
Sat: 30 min Power Hour
Sun: nada

I think getting through IMAX has given me the confidence to go longer this week so I'm going to have to try and get up at 4:30 this week (speaking of which I should get off the computer and work out now!)

Bought new toys this weekend..at TJ Maxx Stability ball + pump (12.99) & pair of 10lb purple dumbbells - my favorite color (10.99). At Walmart the 10 lb medicine ball, 10 lb plates for my bar and a bar pad.

After doing Power Hour Saturday, I developed bruises on my shoulders. I guess I was resting the bar too closely. I bruise easily anyway.

Okay...gotta go. Have a great week everyone!

- Sharon

Hi Everyone,

Glad to hear you are all well :)

Sharon - well done with your workouts ! I too have bought a new toy, I have invested in a 10# body bar, so looking forward to that, it should arrive on Wednesday. Keep up the good work.

Linda - I have had one of those weeks too, I fell over on my right ankle last Monday, and hurt the whole of my right leg, hips, buttocks, knee, ankle and foot, so I was out of exercise action for three nights. Had a dabble on Thursday night at Cardio Kicks to practice the moves, and to test how well the leg was working. Pigged out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, because of TTOTM. I now feel like a bloated whale, and am getting back into the old swing of things tonight - Cardio kicks here I come, all the way through for the first time. So, I can relate Linda (Sharon's work out week has put me to shame :-(), but hey, aren't bananas and nuts good for you ???

I started my Rosemary Conley eating plan yesterday - I am now 180#s so haven't lost anything for weeks, maybe this week will be better ? Lets hope so :)

Keep up the good work Ladies - hope I have better news next week ?

Anna :)

Sounds like everyone is doing good??!!! Anna, we all have a hard time controling our eating at that time of the month. I hope you like your new program. I have never heard of Rosemary Clooney??? Anyway, I did the CTX Series last week, and had a blast. I did each bodypart twice, and a couple days I added in a few intervals from IMAX just to lengthen the cardio. I joined WW's online last week, and I dropped 3 lbs. this week. I was happy!!!! I know I will probably not lose that much every week, but I was still happy. I had my period last week, and still kept to my points, so that is probably why I dropped so much. Have a great week everyone!!

Hi everyone, I had a pretty bad week... great for exercising (the more I do Step Heat the more I love it - I am also getting Step Jam and Step Works off the exchange, should get them this week!) but bad for food. I am going to join the six-month challenge because my life is no longer going to be ruled by pudding cups.

I weighted in at 216 this morning, which is a 1 lb loss. Not what I was hoping for but not bad either.

I am really hoping I'll hit 200 sometime in January. So I am approaching my diet with renewed vigor! In the exercise department I've been doing really well - if only that was all it took!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Do you know I gave up ice cream and that scale had the audacity NOT to budge an inch!? :(

I literally lept onto the scale (like a cartoon character no less!) expecting to see at LEAST 1# down, but not only did I not get the 1#, it said I was 169 which is 2# heavier than where I was!? And no matter how many times I got on and off it still said 169!?
The only reason I didn't jump out the window over it is because I know my eating was in line last week (thank God for my food journal!) and I even came in under some days since I omitted ice cream from my life, so I knew it wasn't an actual fat gain, but what is it? I started a heavier lifting rotation 2 weeks ago, so I don't know if I'm just holding water or what, but I was sooooo disappointed. Heck, the tape measure didn't budge either. Trust me, I whipped it out and had every positive thought that surely IT wouldn't let me down, but it teamed up with the scale to stamp out my little flame of hope! (can you tell I'm a drama queen?!):)

Sooooooooo,
I'll continue to stay ice cream free (which is not as hard now after 9 days) but I'll try to improve my overall food choices. Some days even though they were ice cream free, didn't mean they were "perfect" eating days! So I have room for improvement there, and as I flush out more of the "impurities" still hanging out in my weekly diet, I guess it'll get better. :)

Congrats to Kay for your loss, and for all who are maintaining. I always say, it's better to maintain than to gain! :)

Agggg, I MISS my icecream and chocolate!!

And I only have .5 lbs to show for it :(

I am 219.5

So at least I got below 220, but just barely.

I seem to do this a lot....so frustrating too. I did a nice post with a message to each one and now I lost it :-(.

You'll just have to trust me....I said great encouraging things to each of you ;-).

I am at 153 now....want to get to 140 but will be very pleased when I get below 150!

Have a great week everyone!

Donna - that b*stard. I swear I can actually hear my scale LAUGHING at me sometimes. I have had no luck coming up with consistent measurements, not that I have any reason to believe they would have changed!!

Ok my little drama piece aside, I just wanted to mention that even you may not have lost anything this week (and you know one week is not very long to wait!), think of how much better your body is without all of the fat/saturated fat it was getting from the ice cream. That Ben and Jerry's will kill you! I already know I can NEVER EVER buy Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream EVER. I have to sit down and eat the whole thing. But, I guess since it's been so long since I've had any, I don't think about it anymore! So there's hope for us!!

Candy...........

Glad you hopped on board our little check in here! :)

I'm so glad you're feeling back on track, but let me ask you, have you allowed yourself 1 day each week to sort of "let loose?"
I ask this because sometimes if you're just too rigid about your diet it can backfire on you.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I think all of us here have 1 day a week we call our "cheat day" which really helps us stay focused on better eating the other 6 days/week. I personally designate the same day of the week each week (I'm a schedule type of personality!) as my cheat day, and that's the day I'll have whatever I want (within reason~you have no idea how ugly THAT could get!), and it helps me to know that I will have a "free day" coming up, so I'm able to feel really good about making better eating choices. So you may want to think about setting aside 1 day each week as a "free day." And if you use it, you use it, and if not, at least you gave yourself the option. I believe about 90% of this whole eating thing is mental!

Anyway, glad you came over, and we'll "see you" next week. :)

Hi everybody! I did something exciting this week....I joined Weight Watchers. So far I am really enjoying it. It really have opened my eyes as to how much I was over-eating. Even though I get extra points for nursing, I still use up all my points during the day and feel a tiny bit hungry when I go to bed. My dh says I have to be hungry sometimes in order to lose weight. urmph. So hopefully next week I will have some very exciting news to report. The one sad thing is that my scale at home said 186 before I went to my first weigh-in. The scale at Weight Watchers (fully clothed w/shoes) said 192. That did not make me very happy. Oh well. See you back here next Monday! Love, Heather

See, this is why I could NEVER join Weight Watchers!

You just KNOW those extra pound differences are your shoes, clothes, undergarments and jewelry! They would have me on the scale to do a weigh in and I'd be stripping off clothing and jewelry til I was standing there butt naked and not a hair pin the first in my head! :)

Donna

hey Donna,

Actually when i am in semi control yes i do allow one cheat day to my week .. but here lately its been like cheat day/night week month .. Thanks alot again for your very kind words and say a tiny hope and prayer that tonight i don't lose my s_it at the movies with my sis n law.. we going see "the ring" . i am off to go do Intense moves and hurry and get ready .. Donna thanks again .. your the best.. let me know if i can email u sometimes.. or call u.. or hell.. can i move next door ?? ;) love u all , Candy

Heather - I just wanted to point something out to you - after you're on WW for a couple of weeks, you won't feel hungry anymore. It took me probably 1-2 weeks to adjust to my diet, and after that I didn't feel hungry. It's like your body adjusts or something.

So there is light at the end of the tunnel! Of course being on a diet doesn't help with my CHOCOLATE cravings ... or PUDDING cravings... ok someone stop me ...

Jennifer - I'm really sorry you had a bad week. Hang in there with us! It is really a struggle sometimes for me too (sometimes??? ok, a lot of the time). But if we are committed to really changing, we WILL change! It's just that it's hard to do and it takes a while. I truly believe that as long as we are committed to not being the same person anymore, it will come to us.

I hope your week goes better!

RE: Candy..............

Cheat day??? No one told me I could have a cheat day. :)

Please tell me more about how you structure your cheat day. How do you keep from pigging out completely? Do you allow yourself literally anything? Maybe this is something that would help me.

Kay.......

There are many ways to do a cheat day! Some people allow themselves whatever they want to eat on a specific day of the week, and they don't worry about calories/fat that day. Some people do just a cheat meal on a specific day of the week, and others like me have a cheat day, but within a specific amount of calories. I don't go over 2500 calories for my cheat day, but I'll have whatever I want that day without feeling like I'm off track or guilty.
It really helps to stay on track through the week when you know you have a day "off" coming up.
