weight loss check in- week of 8/24

Hey, I'm the first one posting this week!

I have a good weekly loss to report. I'm down another 2 lbs this week. So I have lost 24 lbs total since my baby was born 7 weeks ago. I still have 96 lbs to go until I am where I want to be,but it is really great to see the scale going down. I know with time, hard work, and patience I WILL get there. I joined weight watchers on Friday and plan to go on Fridays with my baby once the other 2 kids are in school. I think being acountable to someone else weighing me will be good. Plus I was telling DH, just to see other adults during the day will be a good thing! I am a stay at home mom of a newborn, 3 year old, and 5 year old so sometimes I miss grownup company :)

With my 5 year old starting kindergarden, and my 3 year old starting preschool 3 mornings a week, it will also give me time to take nice long walks with my baby in the stroller. I am limited in how long I can walk when me kids are home since they can't walk as far as I would like.

How did everyone else do??

Marci

Congrats Marci on the two pounds! That is great. You will see results with time and patience.

I did not lose anything this week, but I am holding steady at 143, so that's acceptable to me, especially since I have my bridal shower Saturday and went out to dinner last night! I thought the scale would have gone up 3 pounds!

Well, hope everyone has a "losing" week!

Linda

Hi guys :)

No loss for me this week, but for ONCE I am happy with the fact that I maintained! :)

DH was on vacation last week and my eating was horrible! It was one bad eating day after another, between our eating out, eating at friends, and taking my parents out, it was one "eating trip through hell" for me all week long! When I totaled up my calories for the week last night,(and I stuck with my food journal despite knowing I had passed my caloric target by Thursday!), I had taken in an excess of 9,296 calories! Can you friggin believe it!? I was petrified to even touch the scale let alone get on it, but to my surprise I maintained my weight and my same measurements (that I've been plateaued on for the last month!) So all I could think was in the words of Cathe, "Thank God!" So I am delighted to report that my weight remains the same this week, and although DH doesn't return to work until Thursday this week, he's eating MY WAY this week, like it or lump it!
I'm sure switching things up this past week with all hi/lo (honeybunch's suggestion from last week) plus starting a new rotation of S&H contributed to balancing out all those extra calories, so I'm anxious to see if with clean eating and the hi/lo only workouts w/S&H, if I can bust this plateau and get the scale moving again.
So honeybunch if you're tuned in this week, I'll be able to give a better report of your "hi/lo therapy" next week since this week was so blown with my diet, but I'm almost certain it saved me from gaining last week!

Oh.....Marci~CONGRATS on your loss once again! Send me some of those "losing vibes" will ya? :) You're on quite the roll, can you drag me along with? :)

Cruncholi~Congrats for maintaining! It's a good thing! :)

Well all, hope there is lots of losing going on, I'll check back!

Donna

Hi ladies,
Marci- Congrats on your loss! I am so happy for you that your kids are starting school this week. I think that will be a big lift for your spirits. And did I read that you were going to have your post-partum visit, just a little late? It sounds like you're doing much better this week. I stay at home with a 19 month old and a six week old, so I empathize with you.

Linda and Donna- great job at maintaining this week. Sounds like you both had lots of eating outings, so not gaining any was a true accomplishment!

I lost another pound this week. I am out of the 190s! Yippee! I am down to 189, and I have lost inches this week as well. I wore my first pants with a shirt tucked in since I had the baby this last week, and it felt so good. I know that sounds silly but it was a nice milestone to reach. Hope you all have great weeks! Heather

Marci: Congrats on those two pounds. You are doing sooooooo well! Keep up that great work. It will pay off for you.

Linda: Sometimes just holding where you are is a REALLY good thing. Your body will adjust and then you'll start losing again. I know it seems like forever but it will happen!!

Donna: When I am trying to lose weight my husband will eat the same kind of thing that I eat for supper (just a lot more of it). He is flexible and not a picky eater, thank goodness. I hope you have a wonderful week this week and stay within your calorie goals.

Heather: Congrats! Believe me, I know how nice it is to be able to tuck a shirt in and feel good about it. I understand completely! You are doing great!!

My eating this week was wonderful. I did not splurge at all. My exercise has been good also. My digital scale is unsure but it thinks that I lost 1.5 pounds....MAYBE 2. It was a little iffy on that 2 though. I am going to stick with this and I AM GOING TO LOSE!!!! I also did a lot more hi/lo than usual. I LOVE step but I really do need more hi/lo. Kickboxing....well, I kind of hate it but I will try to work a little in just to crosstrain a bit.

Everyone is doing great so keep it up and have a great week!!!!!

Hi to Marci and DaisyHeather http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/wavey.gif[/img]

Marci......do I remember you from ages ago?.....or should I say do you remember me? ;-)........ seems to me we've met.

Anyway nice to see you both. Such a busy time you have with babies...but you sound like you are doing just fine in losing the weight you had gained. Good for you both http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/cheering.gif[/img].

Way to go Kelly :D ! I just love seeing losses on this check in and it sounds like you worked hard for it! I just love the sound of that recipe you posted for sweet potatoes....sounds yummy :9!

Linda.....hope you have a great time at the shower for you. Such fun! :) Glad you are holding your own with the weight too!

Boy Donna, I'm so glad you stayed the same and didn't gain :)! My husband eats the same way I do and it sure makes it easy to stay on the straight and narrow. But I know I sure can blow it when we eat out....there's usually cheesecake and chips and dip and creamy salads and french fries and burgers....the list could go on and on. Sometimes the greasy/creamy stuff is sooooo appealing.

I lost 1/2# :D. Not much but I'm taking it. I am now 156 at 5'5". I would like to get to 150 and then take it down from there and see if I can get to 140. I have been as high as 183 about 5 years agoa and about 20 years ago I saw 130 (people said I was too thin do that's why the 140 target).

We are leaving tomorrow for about 9 days. I keep repeating to myself.....I will eat right....I will eat right! See you in just over a week.

My "diet" has been pathetic for weeks, some good days, but alot more bad days, so bad Ive been to scared to weigh in. I just checked my journal, my last weigh in was July 29th!! So, I had a pretty good week last week and thought what the hey, and this morning I was down 2 lbs from my 7/29 weigh in so I was very pleased!! A little background, I had lost 9 lbs in 4 months, gained back 5 and now I'm down 2, so that puts me within 3 lbs of my previous low. Overall though I am still 7 lbs from goal, but the last 10 are so tough!! Congrats to everyone!!

:) Stacy
