weight loss check in- week of 10/28

I nearly didn't post this week because I don't have time to say something to everyone but I did read all the posts and want to encourage all of us to keep on trucking! :) I guess I'll quit going on about my posting etiquette and just post. ;-)

I did go down another #. I seem to be at 154 now. That is a low # for me and my clothes fit better and I've even had a few comments on how good I look (and I wasnt' even giving out subliminal messages ;-)) I think what has helped me was getting busy in my life with other things to keep me away from eating. If I have a list ready (in my mind or on paper) of things to do (that I like doing) and start on one of those instead of eating when I get bored it helps me tremendously. I don't even 'play' on the computer as much as I used to......that nearly always leads me to cookies.

Well, I've just gabbed on now and most of you don't even know me much. Thinking of that.....are you out there Kelly (Steppingup)? Haven't seen you around in ages it seems.....and you are one of the people I do 'know'. Hope you are well.

Congrats on the loss Susan :) And how ironic, I was thinking about Kelly this morning myself and thinking it's been a while since she checked in. I hope all is well with her.

I'm sorry I have not checked in lately. I am up to my arm pits in work. I do medical transcription work at home and I just took on a neurologist that is sooooooo far behind so I am trying to play catch up for him. I have been working 24/7 but still I should have let you guys know what was going on.

Thanks Susan and Donna for thinking about me. Susan, I NEED to get on that other end of the seesaw because I am not getting any cardio right now. I am only lifting weights but still I'm somewhat maintaining my weight. I might have gained a pound or two but really that's not so bad considering.

Anyway, I'd better get back at it and hopefully I will TAKE THE TIME to post next week!

Just glad to know all is well with you. And let me know how the "weights only" thing goes for you. I've been very curious about more emphasis on weights, less on cardio, but I'm such a "creature of habit" that I cannot force myself to let go of the cardio = fat loss concept. So I'd be interested to know how you felt it worked for you.

Hi Kelly......I'm trying to do more weights out of choice to see what happens....not cutting out cardio entirely but lowering a bit.
I 'feel' (along with Donna) that the cardio is the weight loss 'thing'. I know it isn't true but it is hard to let go of.

You are so sweet! I had a big smile on my face when I read what you posted to me. This site is just so amazing isn't it. I mean I've never met you in real life but when it is late and night and I'm tempted to go dig into something really bad for me in the kitchen I think about you and it keeps me food out of my hands!

Jennifer- hey 2 lbs is great!!

Sharon, I'm having a hard time resisting the holloween candy. I've already had 3 pieces. But I'm not gonna beat myself up, in the past I would have polished off a whole bag so 3 pieces isn't gonna get me. The leftovers are GONE Friday. The tough part is that my 3 and 5 year old kids will still have candy. The rule in our house though is they can have 2 pieces on holloween then 1 piece a day for a week then the leftovers go to work with daddy so I only have about 1 more week of holloween tempations then its gone.

Heather, stepheat was my first Cathe, its really fun. I love the ab section at the end also.

I worked out on my new stairmaster last night for the first time, I loved it, its so much fun :) Tonight I'm gonna do the weights portion of wedding tape.
