Weight Loss Check-In Week Ending 12/8/02

Hi everyone. I am getting the impression that nobody is overly-anxious for this check-in during the holiday season. However, it will help keep us accountable, so let's keep it up!
I didn't lose anything, but didn't gain either. Still at that plateau!
How did everyone else do?
Linda

I managed to get back to my pre-Thanksgiving weight..so got rid of the 3lbs of fluid or whatever.

I really had a hard time getting back into my exercise routine last week. I was so unstructured that I basically didn't do any weights until Sat/Sun (and had a big case of DOMS this morning). I was really pumped to have a go at it today but got up an 1hr late.. :-tired I'll have to work out tonight and get back on track.

Hi All,

Had a miserable week last week - lots of lovely PMS, ate like a PMS-type woman, and it is now TTOTM, and began my exercise at the weekend after an 8 day lull. Again, PMS stopped me from exercising, and it doesn't normally, so it has been a bad week. Off to my Rosemary Conley group tonight, looking forward to the exercising but I have decided not to be weighed as I will no doubt be heavier.

Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but I feel a bit like a pancake at the moment, all flat and ugh !

May be this week will be a better one ! :)

Anna :)

Anna, Sharon, and Lori: Sorry about the bad weeks you have been having. Look at the bright side, we will have a lot of "New Year's resolutions" to look forward to!

Hi ladies!

Sorry to hear you all had bad weeks. The holidays are such a hard time. In addition to thanksgiving feast (which I cooked this year and had leftovers) Friday night I hosted a Hannukah dinner for 15 people. Anyone ever have pototo latkes, they are sooooo wonderfully tasty but really high in calories and fat.

The past few weeks my eating has been HORRIBLE (2 weeks ago I had a 9 lbs GAIN), but even thought we had Thanksgiving and Hanukkah back to back this year I managed to stay in control and do lots of excercise.

So drumroll please:

I lost 7.5 lbs this week!!!! So I only have one of those nasty 9 lb gain lbs left. I'm 222.5 as of this morning. I have a Dr. apt Feb 7, and I have promised myself I WILL be below 199 when I go to see him. Last time I was at the Dr. was my post partum visit in August and I was 244 lbs so the scale is moving the right direction!!

Marci

WOWEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marci :-wow :-wow :-wow Well Done ! I posted on your other thread before reading this, sorry. 7.5 lbs ! Goodness me, you go girl, and keep going in that direction.
I am FLABBERGASTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anna :)

There's entirely too much room on this plateau! :)

I didn't lose/didn't gain either, but I really am not surprised. I started out my week strong! Stayed great until Friday night, went a little haywire and stayed haywire all weekend!
Funny thing is, half way through yesterday I said to myself, "I usually don't have trouble with my eating like this until I'm about 10 days out from TTOTM? So I pull out my planner, and sure enough, Friday was 10 days away from my start date (I'm as regular as a clock! Every 24 days exactly!)

Marci: 7#? You know I just spent about 15 minutes writing you a d@mn post about "the sunny side of the street" on your post about feeling fat and your butt is running around losing 7# in a week! But congratulations! You're narrowing in on your goal and I'm happy for you, jealous too, but happy! :)
Can I be down? What are you doing? And watch you tell me some b.s. about 2 calories/day, knowing that I breath more than that! :)

Everyone else, better week this week! We will eat better, holiday or not coming up!
See you all next week! :)

Donna- you will break that plateu this week! Thanks for your response on the other thread. you are so right that it takes the mind a while to catch up with the body. I am in AWE of your loss, I really really am.

What did I do? Workout wise, nothing too instense: stairmaster 2 days for 35 minutes, step heat 2 days, weight section from wedding tape 2 days.

2 calories?? Hardly, I would be a screamer of a mom if I did that- I have no patience when I'm hungry and cranky!! With 3 kids under 5 I need all the patience I can get LOL!! Actually instead of eating out of control and WAY over 2,000 I actually stuck to an average of 1,500 calories for 6 days and about 2000 the 7th day. So hardly starving. I'm gonna aim for 1,500 this week as well.

Come on, lets have a great week everybody :)

Hi everybody! I'm new here, and I wanted to join your weight-loss check-in. I'm having too much trouble losing on my own, so I thought if I have to be accountable to other people, then maybe it would help. I weigh 153lbs. right now and I'm 5'2" tall. Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for letting me join!
Lori

Welcome Lori :)

We post every week, usually someone starts the check-in on Monday mornings, so we'll see you there! :)

I'll leave the advice to those of us who've been a little more successful lately, I'm in a slump! :( But don't feel sorry for me, it's a self induced slump called, "push your fat a** away from the fridge Donna!"

See ya next week!

Donna

Hi everybody. As usual I lost absolutely nothing. Staying steady at 215.

SO, I came up with a deadline for myself. If I still have not gotten back on track by Jan 1, then I am going to join Weight Watchers. I am a "do-it-on-my-own" type of gal, but if that's not working for me then I will have to change what I'm doing.

The biggest thing I don't like about weight watchers is how much it costs, but $25 per month for a while is worth it to become more healthy!

I haven't felt well since Thanksgiving, I think I strained my back, been a little dizzy sometimes, I'm just a walking problem! So I haven't been able to work out as voraciously as I would like. But, I am feeling a little better today so hopefully I will get there (this is why I hate winter).

Sounds like a lot of us are on a plateau - the holidays are hard!! I can't blame my plateau on the holidays because it was around before then (I can blame my overeating, however!), but it is so hard when everyone has huge holiday meals, it makes it even harder if you were having a tough time to begin with!

So everybody keep up the good work!
Kay
