Weight Loss Check-In 7/8/02

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd start this week's weight loss check-in, even though I gained one pound this week.

Hmmmm, maybe that is due to my Perry's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Double Scoop ice cream indulgance last night at 8:30p.m. Wow, was that good! (the ice cream, not the weight gain).
Hopefully, that will go away by next week!

How did everyone else do?

Linda

That ice cream sounds marvelous :9....what a wonderful combination of tastes!

I am down a pound. :) It is not a consistent loss....but I'll take it. I am up and down all the time....going away and getting out of my routine just kills me. The journaling has been very helpful and I hope I can go down slow and steady for a while.

That wedding date can't be far off now, Linda....so exciting :D .....is it really next week? My husband and I just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary yesterday.

Hope you are all happy and healthy.

Hi all :)

Linda: I'm sure the 1# is temporary, but what a way to gain it! Ice cream is a weakness for me, especially the "odd" types that are out now. My hubby (150# @ 6') just found "Bryer's Almond Joy" ice cream, and OMG is it good! :)

Susan: Congrats on your 1# loss! :)

As for me, I lost it on the clean eating once again last week, I am having a terrible time staying on track. I'm expecting TTOTM any day now, and my eating gets a bit erratic about 5-7 days prior, but I lost 0.5lbs and 0.5 inches (hips)~woooo-hooooo!!!:)
A small loss, but a happy little loss since my eating was so up and down.

I hope everyone else had a great week, and a better one this week. :)

Donna

Susan,
Congrats on your 35th wedding anniversary! That is wonderful. My wedding is not until October. I am just wishing the weight gain would be gone by next week! Anyway, have a nice day!

Hi Donna :)....I am glad you had a 'happy little loss'.

I have had the urge to splurge for days now and I just let go the other night. I didn't even have any ice cream around so I just cut up a banana and added some walnuts and cocoanut and poured some maple syrup over the lot. :9 Would have been better with the ice cream but it wasn't bad....I just had to have something sweet! Talk about pitiful.

Linda....I'll try to remember October. We had a nice dinner out to celebrate and I didn't eat any really bad 'put on weight' foods either. :) I guess the above splurge was enough for me!

Well, here I am dragging in. I definitely have no good news. I have officially gained 10 pounds. BUT, I am under control now and plan to take off that 10 pounds and a few more. That's the plan anyway. I have not felt the best in the world. I don't know if it's the heat, eating bad stuff or just the weight gain. Probably a combination of all three.

Linda: I wouldn't worry too much about 1 pound (since I have gained 10, that's easy for me to say, right?). I'm sure you will take that one off and others along with it.

Donna: It's amazing how you talk about your splurges but you still lose, however small it is. Right before my period I crave sweets, chocolate mostly, and can hardly control the urge.

Susan: Congrats on the 1 pound loss. I hope, HOPE!!!!, to report a loss next week.

This is the first time I've been on the forum all week so I'm a little behind...sorry. I'll do better :)

Nice to see you back Kelly. :)

Hope you are feeling better and are able to post that loss next week.

Summer with the heat really 'assists' me in the eating of ice cream and I like the real stuff (meaning not low fat or frozen yogurt.....though I am trying to like it ;-).) My favourite is a Skor Blizzard from Dairy Queen.....it is sooooo good and I can make it last a long time.

See you next week and don't put lots of pressure on yourself.

Susan,

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that this "ice cream thing" is just a summertime fling and not a yearlong fixture! I TRY SO HARD TO "JUST SAY NO!" but it calls me! I swear it calls to me and I am like a lunatic until I get some, and just before TTOTM is the worst time of all, because then I want it daily! And tell me why Prevention mag of all months, would print the "ice cream diet?" Clearly, that gave me the thumbs up (mentally) to just have my 1C/day. If I don't get a grip soon I might have to check out hypnosis or ICEA (ice cream eaters annonymous) :)
If I post this week with a little frowny face, you'll know the ice cream "did me in!"
Donna

Hey Donna, I agree with you that seeing an ice cream diet on the front cover of Prevention would send out subliminal messages that it is okay to have more often than for a treat.

If you started up a ICEA I'm sure you would have a lot of members :D

I'm not too sure I'm doing so good this week. I have written in my journal faithfully so I can see where I goofed up. I have been averaging about 2000 a day...some higher  and some lower :) and I was trying to go for about 1800, so you can tell I had more highers than lowers :-rollen.

I think I'll be wearing this http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/anon.gif[/img] again this week.
