Weight loss check-in 2/4

Steppingup

Cathlete
Where is everyone? Hellooooooooo!!! I thought someone would have started this by now. Could it have something to do with we were suppose to weigh this week? LOL!!!

Well, my workouts were not as long and intense as I would have wanted but still pretty good. It just got really busy this week. My eating was still really good...would put it at 4.5!

Okay...now...let me see...there seems to be something else I should be reporting...maybe...could it be...WEIGHT LOSS!!!!
Alright, I will quit being silly. I was a little disappointed with my weight loss but since I am down to the last 10 or so pounds I guess I can't expect it to come off very fast. I lost 3 pounds, barely!! I should be glad that I lost anything, and I am, but I probably was hoping it was just a little bit more.

You're saying, take what you can get, right?

Alright, yall's turn!!!!!

Kelly

You are a braver person than I. Since my eating has been horrendous this month, I'm not even going to dare to step on the scale. I know it hasnt gone in the right direction, although it may have stayed in the same spot, I'd rather be ignorant of that fact right now and just concentrate this month on healthier eating. I did pretty darn good for the month of January with my workouts so that's a start. I started a CTX rotation this month, with some modifications for some of the cardio since I dont care much for kickbox and a few of the days I was in the mood for something other than the cardio sections on the CTX series tapes. Here's my week:

Mon--CTX Kickbox+biceps+abs and CTX shoulders portion only
Tues--Step portion of MIC and CTX chest and triceps only
Wed--Power Circuit
Thur--Step Heat+abs and CTX biceps and shoulders only
Fri--REST...aaahh
Sat--PowerMax and CTX chest and triceps only + abs of CTX LLA
Sun--CTX LLA

Next week, I'm going to change it a bit and do 3 days on, 1 day off and put PowerCircuit and CTX LLA as the second day of the 3-day cycles, I need to split the upper body workouts up a bit even if I am working a different part each day. Ok, who else out there is afraid to step on the scale??? Kelly, congrats on the 3 lbs!!

:) Stacy

Hi everyone,

Kelli, Great job on the three pounds. You are making great lifestyle changes to reach your goal and it's paying off. You shaved off 30% of your goal that's great.

Stacy, I have similar feelings when I know that I have stayed the same or maybe added a pound that it is better, for me, to not know. Because I usually give myself permission to eat horribly when I think things aren't working. That is why if I don't know I will continue to strive for my goal wihtout major setbacks.

Well, I post that I lost 2.5lbs for January, but I feel I have gained it back, but I haven't weighed in. I will work hard for february to be better in all areas of health. My birthday is February 27 and for my birthday I want to give myself at least 5lbs of weight loss. I think thats attainable.

Please check my rotation, its new and I am not sure aboout. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Su: CK
M: CMAX
T: off
W: BMAX
R: Off, I have to watch survivor, I don't know why butI like it.
F: LL, CMAX doing upperbody strength, instead of compound.
S: IMAX

Well that's it. Have a nice week.
Nikki

Hi Everyone,

Well ladies, my eating this week was probably a 2.5. Weight loss took a back seat last week due to all my problems. Looks like my 8 1/2 year marriage is coming to an end. Never in a million years did I think this would happen to us. This will probably be my last check-in for awhile because I can't seem to focus on anything right now. I will miss you ladies and I wish you all much success!!!

Lisa

Lisa,

I wish I had the right words to comfort you, but I couldn't imagine how you are feeling.
I will be praying for you and your family.

Nikki

So sorry Lisa!

RE: Lisa......

Lisa, Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about your marriage. A friend of mine is going through the same thing and I know it is devastating and all consuming. We will be thinking of you. Please try to check in if you can to let us know how you are. When you are able, you are always welcome here :)

On topic of weight check-in, well my workouts were a 4 out 5 of, I decided to join weight watchers, but have not even stuck to the program. I was kinda turned off by the meeting. The leader was NOT what I would call inspirational. In fact she was about 30 or 40 lbs overweight! Now there is nothing wrong with being overweight but maybe I'm superficial but I did not find it too inspiring to find the leader at weight watchers was overweight! I bought a food journal today. I was doing SO well the first 2 weeks in January - lost 8 lbs, and now my total is only 4. Oh well, this week will be better!!!

Lisa!

Lisa,
I am so very sorry to hear about your marriage. Generally I wouldn't mention this to strangers but perhaps it will be of some small consolation. I don't know what your issues are, but my husband and I of only 1 1/2 years separated recently so I have an idea how you feel. My situation seemed hopeless and without resolution and I was positive it was over. The feelings of sadness, failure and embarassment were overwhelming too (after all, the ink was hardly dry on my marriage license).

Well, I have more than one friend who has been in far worse situations and who miraculously saved their marriages. Each couple celebrated a 25th and a 10th anniversary last year. They kept telling me there was hope but I was CERTAIN that there wasn't. Anyway, I started to believe them. Maybe they saw something I couldn't after all the years of experience. So, my husband and I have started to communicate and after many "false starts" we are certain that we will reconcile in the near future.

Please don't think me presumptuous but what I'm trying to say is maybe, just maybe there is hope to salvage your 8 years of marriage too. But whatever happens, I really do wish you all the best for the future.

I'm Back!

Hi everyone!
I've been sick with the flu for 5-days. Guess i have the strain that like to stick around a while. I'm still weak today but this morning, miracle of miracles I got up and did Karen Voights Streamline Fitness (w/5lbs). It was tough for my flu ridden body but I made it. I think I may actually get the hang of this a.m. workout thing.

Eating has been lousy but guess what I lost close to an inch off my waist somehow. I haven't weighed yet. I don't dare. Give me till next week to get up my nerve.

RE: I'm Back!

Kelly,
Congratulations on your weightloss and just so you know, I would slay dragons to be 10 pounds from my goal weight, bet that would burn calories!!! (oh new series: Crystal the DragonSlayer....LOL) And Amynicole way to go the 4 lbs is still great and I was really encouraged by your positive attitude that this week would be better. It will!!

Weight Watchers

LAST EDITED ON Feb-08-01 AT 09:23AM (Est)[p]Just wanted to pop in with a comment about Weight Watchers. They are very strict about their leaders' weights. Was the leader over 45? They do allow a higher weight range for those who are over that age, but are still very strict about them staying within those limits. Perhaps she just looked heavier to you than she really is. At any rate, do "shop around" for a better meeting if that one wasn't inspirational to you. I have seen the full spectrum, from a very "mousy" leader who spoke very softly and the group didn't say a word the entire meeting, to a boisterous fun group that never shuts up or stays on-topic and is a total blast! Good luck.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-01 AT 10:02AM (Est)[p]There are some pics of me in the VF photo albums from the last two Cathe road trips (10/99 and 10/00), showing about a 50-pound difference. Once I get a little closer to goal I'm going to submit a "success in the making" story to the Dotti's Weight Loss Zone web site and will post a link here. :) If you ever come on a Cathe road trip, I always bring my before pics with me there.

hi pamela,

Wow, what an amazing acomplishment in weight loss! Thanks for the advice but Unfortunatley the sat am meeting is the only one I can make it to without my kids. My 1 and 4 year olds don't do too well in meetings! My husband works long long hours so the middle of the week groups are out. Plus I moved to a new state recently and don't have babysitters so its sat am or nothing . I am just going to count calories like I was doing, keep a food journal and keep workout out with Cathe!

RE: hi pamela,

Amy -- ah, bummer. Sounds like you have quite a full plate, figuratively speaking of course. ;-) Do you ever go to the Dotti's Weight Loss Zone web site? There are lots of great WWers there who don't attend meetings and use the site for their inspiration and motivation. Check it out sometime: www.dottisweightlosszone.com (click on Message Board).

RE: hi pamela,

Hi Pamela, yes I've seen dottie's site, its really great. Good news, I sat down with my husband tonight and told him that it is really important for me to do this. Tues a.m. he just does paperwork in the morning but we realized that he could leave a little later tues am and just come home later that day. Usually he comes home around 8ish tuesdays but said he could just come home 9ish so I could go on my own to the meeting. Luckily the center is only 10 minutes from my home so an 8am meeting would get me home by 9am. I know the tues a.m leader has a good reputation - a mother at my sons preschool raves about how wonderful and inspirational she is. So Tues 8am, I'm gonna try again. My husband knows how important this is to me :) Plus since he works at least 50-60 hours a week and i'm home alone with the kids, he knows I can go stir crazy :)

Anyway, thanks for your post, it was your post that caused me to bring up the subject with my husband again. I honestly did not think there was any way I could go during the week, but he was determiend to help me figure out a way if I felt thats what I wanted to do. I'll let you know how it goes on Tuesday.
