~~~**Weekend Melting**~~~
Hey ladies!
Happy dance for Robin!!! Hooray for being done with those meds! Woo hoo!
Now I want me some champagne with all this talk of champagne going on . . . . Is 7:42 too early for some? Oh, I guess that's what mimosas are for! :p
I'm here for a Sunday morning head pop. Yesterday I managed about 80% of my usual cardio at 80% of my usual intensity, but hey, better than nothing.
Yesterday the gym scale came down a pound, but then DH and I went to a new Italian restaurant that was just to die for, so of course I had to eat everything. It was this small, rustic little place where the entire staff barely spoke English. But the waitress was able to communicate to DH that he should combine each forkful of crispy artichoke with a small piece of grilled Meyer lemon. The pasta, desserts, and even the bread were made on the premises. It was just heavenly. So I think I'll avoid the scale today.
Allie, thanks for starting. I almost started this myself yesterday.
Shelley, how was the water park and what are you up to today?
Robin, I'm sorry you didn't get that much needed time alone. I know how valuable that can be.
Breckgirl, I REALLY want to know more about your training and your trainer guy. I know I'm out of the loop on that.
I toast you champagne drinkers with my Poland Spring Sparkling Lime Essence water!
I've got Coremax and weight work on tap for today. Should finally get going....
Hey Leanne, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!
BG, I'll look for Guet, but I doubt if I'll find it. Our state store system is atrocious. I like a New York Finger Lake Blanc de Blanc or Blanc de Noir from Dr Frank's winery. I've never really tasted any truely expensive champagnes. A tasting sounds like so much fun.
Tneah, yeah, I like Asti too. And there is another NY Finger Lakes bubbly that I enjoy that is a pink Asti. How unsophisticated is that!
Well Robin, the truth of the matter is, my palate isn't sophisticated enough to have discerned the subtle differences that make Dom and Cristal so amazing. They weren't all that great to me! Of course, by the time we worked up to those, we'd tasted so many! :) I still say drink whatever the heck you like. Who cares? As long as you enjoy it - that's all that matters. I've never had the kind you're speaking of, but I'm willing to try them! That's just the kinda girl I am. :D
Nancy - I hired Tneah's Mr Trainerman (that's what we call him). His name is Kim Oddo. I signed up for 12 weeks with him. I had sort of lost my workout mojo and I think part of it was that I felt like I was doing so much and my body hadn't really changed the way I wanted it to. He designed the workout and meal plan, and I check in with him every 2 weeks, photos every 4. :eek: He changes things as we go of course. So far I'm not too crazed, but I'm only a teensy bit into it. Ask anything you like, Tneah may be far better equipped to answer, but I'd sure try too! :)
**waves wildly to Leanne** Hi babycakes!!!
Nancy! So seeing you on this check in wasn't my imagination! That Italian place sounds amazing. Our favorite Italian restaurant closed a couple years ago. It was owned by a family from NYC. They had the best red sauce. The 3 or 4 places still in business here are pretty ho-hum. Someday I'm making a trip to NYC just to go out to dinner with you!
Robin, just give me a few days notice and I'll have all the reservations lined up so you can pick and choose as your little heart desires. Actually, I think the place I went last night would be the place to go. The staff is so warm and inviting, you almost feel like you're sitting in someone's dining room. You would love it. Seriously, if you could hook up with Patti and Tammy when they come down, it would be wonderful. We could take a cozy table in the back and hang out for hours with a few bottles of wine....;):D
Hi everyone. I'm just popping in to say "hi". I've had a busy day of church, tennis, laundry, cleaning basement and shed, blah blah blah.
I'm not prepared to do personals at the moment because I'm just pooped, but maybe I'll be back later.
BG, you're invited!
Well, I decided to be totally decadent and do bicep-with-weighted-wine-glass curls for my workout once I got home from work. But I am skipping pizza and having a big salad for dinner. Followed by more bicep curls, this time with weighted flutes. Have a wonderful evening, girlfriends.
Now THAT's my kinda workout!!!! :eek::D
Cheers, Robin - you deserve it!
Hi Lainie!!! Sorry you're so tired - sounds like you earned that tiredness though. How was tennis? Who won? You or the racket? :D:D
Robin, just hoping your evening is super duper!!:p
Nancy, good to see ya chica..the Italian place sounds divine, more than divine...*wipes drool off chin* One of my claims to fame is a homemade red sauce that I make with in season tomatoes I go fetch from a local farmers market. Then I make homemade meatballs the size of your fist and sausages...DH says this reminds him of the Italian street food, not sure what that means exactly, but he means it as a compliment.:D
Hey all... sorry I haven't been around. Yesterday was uber-busy and today I'm just absolutely FOUL :eek: Trust me, you wouldn't want me.
Robin - yay for being done with no alcohol meds! Enjoy that bubbly! AND CHECK YOUR DANG PMs!
Nance - the Italian place sounds fantastico!
Sorry I don't have time for more personals. I'll try to be around more tomorrow.
I'm still too tired to do much writing, but wanted to wave and send love to all.
(Also I totally hope to join in on a trip to NYC, considering Beavs or Robin would probably pass right by me on the way anyway.)
