Week to Week 11/23/20-11/29/20

Happy Thanksgiving!
Today was a short & sweet KY session & 45 minutes of walking intervals.

Lisa: My DH likes to cook too. He does more complicated recipes while I like recipes that are miraculously easy to make but taste like they weren’t. He and our son made the dessert yesterday. I prepped a bunch of stuff but the main cooking happens today.

CarolRose: I’m thinking about using Tracie WOs next week or the week after. I can’t believe how indecisive I’ve been about my WOs lately.

Geoff: Thinking good thoughts about Cooper’s bloodwork.

Sherri: Thinking good thoughts about your healing back.

Hi, all! I'm new to the forums and thought I'd join this group. I like the way you're all supporting each other. :)

Today I did Step Boss IMAX 4. Starting to get the choreography down which is exciting and also means I'm getting fewer breaks, lol!

I'm going to try the Step Boss + Ripped w/ HIIT rotation. Intimidated! But I'll pepper in rest days or spin bike sessions as needed.

I hope everyone who celebrates the holiday had a great Thanksgiving!

@Lannette when I first purchased Tracie's Focus and Longevity series workouts, I could barely get through ten minutes of them. That was a year ago. I'm determined to conquer her workouts. LOL! :)

Today I did Cathe's Tris and Bis from her XTrain Series. I seriously love that entire series. :) :)

Thank you for the welcome, Lanette! I am looking forward to getting to know you all, too!

Today the rotation calls for Lift It Hiit It - Chest, Triceps and Shoulders. I plan on attempting that later this morning after some coffee and reading. I say "attempting" because 1) it's Cathe and I know how hard her workouts are! 2) this blog I read, 2Lazy4Gym, reviewed it as really really tough and that woman is a beast!! Her blog title is definitely tongue-in-cheek. :D

I hope everyone has a great day! I may post later after my workout.

I wasn't able to do Lift It HiiT It, chest, tris and shoulders after all because the dvd doesn't work (booo, and I've had this series for years so I can't exactly return it lol). BUT! Instead I did HiiT Circuit Upper Body and it was hard and fun, exactly what I look for in a workout. :D

Heading out for a walk with DH in a bit. Have a good one, all!

Hi all

Welcome JennieBean. I love 2Lazy4Gym blog! She created some great Cathe Live rotations.

Today was a rest day. I will probably do some like yoga tomorrow and start up again on Sunday. I have not had a full rest week In months so I am allowing myself to workout only 5 days this week :)

Have a great evening.

Hey Everyone!
I agree about 2Lazy4Gym, fantastic blog!

JennieBean you may want to contact Cathe’s CS about your DVD. They may want it back before they send a new one. Did you try it in a computer or another player? Using Pledge on it can sometimes resurrect a cranky DVD. (I don’t use it on my furniture but keep a container of it in the gym.)

I finally got to Tracie today. My workout was:
KY 20m LB set, Tracie Long Metabolic Strength 1: Coming on Strong 32m, Melt Neck release 8m
I did better than I thought I would but her slow meticulous movements showed me that I still need to work on bringing my left side up to match my right side.

Have a great day everyone!

Lannette

I love this workout, but I also find that entire series very challenging. :)
Hi, Carol! Yeah, the series is super tough. I actually bought it many years ago and only tried a couple of the workouts back then. Like I mentioned, the dvd for that workout wouldn't work so I did the upper body circuit instead and really enjoyed it!

Thanks for the recommendation on the pledge, Lanette! I will give that a try, tho this was the first time running the disc and it appears to be in fine condition. I doubt I'll be able to exchange it this many years later! Oh well.

I just used my foam rollers (tube and ball) on my legs and glutes because they are very tight and sore! That always helps. I may stick to the rotation today, or I may do Cardio Overdrive with Allison from The FIRM.

I hope everyone is doing well. :)

Good morning! Having issues dealing with stress. Can't imagine why, right? ;) So I had an overwhelming compulsion not to do my scheduled strength training workout, and instead dug out Meditation for Beginners, which I haven't done in years. Literally. It helped a LOT. I'm not the type of person who can sit quietly for 20 minutes or so, focusing on my breath and inner awareness, but for some reason today I found it easier to do, as well as very relaxing. :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

@CarolRose that is so cool! Good for you for sensing the need for something different (deeper?) and honoring it. I have been working on establishing a meditation practice and bringing more mindfulness into my life, so it is really helpful for me to see someone on a fitness forum modeling the importance of working with our inner selves, too. Love. It. :D

I did The FIRM Cardio Overdrive yesterday and also went for a walk with hubs. Legs were very tired! Today is a recovery/recharge day. So I'll walk and do some foam rolling, gentle yoga, and probably my progressive muscle relaxation tape. Maybe a mud mask and a manicure to really round out the day!

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Hi all

Yesterday was a rest day. We have been doing a lot of purging of items in the house we no longer have a use for. We try to be as minimalistic as possible. I have all my Cathe DVD’s ready to put up on eBay. Excited to get rid of them!

Today was CL High Low Hiit with Step plus core and yoga. My husband and I just got back from a manicure and pedicure and I could take a nap!

Have a great day

Hi Everyone!

I didn’t sleep all that well last night. Probably the full moon. Today I did KY to warm up then the 21 minute intermediate step bonus from Step Boss. I love this one so much! It just makes me happy. Tonight I did Melt UB & LB. I feel super relaxed now.

Lisa - We’ve been rearranging and downsizing too! I started in our massage space & gym. Despite that let me know when your DVDs go up on EBay. I’d love to shop your collection.

Waves to everyone else. Great workouts!
