Week of 2/9 Pregnancy Check In

hi jess, its just you and i lately! I hoep everyone else is ok!!! :) ??

ayhoo..i dont mind being preggers and i never thought i'd e sayng come on already, its just this darn sciatic nerve and NOT being able to exercise that are getting to me. plus feeling so fat haha. i will probably miss being pregnant. its been an easy pregnancy up until recently so i can not complain at all.

im very anxious to meet the baby...im so curious. how big will she be? Who will she look like? I am white and my DH is black, so i wonder if she will look crazy or bueaitful or more black or more white :) I have heard stories where a mixed couple would have kids and one would be all white or all black and u cant tell they are mixed at all. Or the kid would come out with blond hair. THat'd be weird, there is not a single blond person in my family, and definately no blonds in his! haha. So, im just curious. Soon i will find out. But i think when they are first born they dont have their pigmentation yet. So it will be interesting :) I just hope she is a healthy little booger.

Just hanging out at work, its been slow which is nice, but makes the day go slowly. Its only noon.....

Yeah I'm excited to see my little one too. ;) I'm betting he looks alot like his big brother though. My DH is hispanic so my 2nd has dark brown eyes, dark brown hair and med skin. Not totally white like me but not as dark as DH. but I don't see my green eyes beating the dark brown ones. Guess its possible though. I'd guess yours will be somewhere in the middle with dark eyes/hair too. But I have heard of them leaning way more to one side than the other. Hope you share lots of pics.

I enjoyed my last pregnancy too and I did great working out till the end. I was ready to not feel fat too and get my body back. It gets to a point where they can't get much bigger so its just time. I also got tired of all the comments like "your still pregnant?" .. uhm yeah I guess I am. haha. sheesh. And the baby was really beating me up. I figure this one will too he's already pushing hard alot. With Noah he was always hitting my cervix hard and it hurts!

Jen, you're soooo close to seeing your beautiful daughter in person! Very exciting! How's your mom doing? When was her surgery?

Jess, I read your church is throwing you a shower. That's so sweet!

Genetics are interesting. It's so neat seeing what traits get picked up.

Off to take a shower while DS is watching Kai-Lan on demand. Tomorrow is my first time as a helper/room mom for DS's preschool. It's their Valentine's party. I was in charge of drinks and a bingo game and prizes. I hope the bingo game works out okay. I'm a little nervous about it which is weird because they're 3 and 4 yr olds and they'll be happy just getting candy at the end. Speaking of candy....sounds good right now. = )

welcome back tana. nice to see you here. i wonder what hapened to laura and clarissa? I know clarissa had a computer crash and goes to the library. maybe laura is on vacation or something :)

i fell off the face of the planet yesterday. i was at work and kept having to run to the bathroom, it would hit me out of nowhere and i was pretty sick , not throwing up but the other end haha. i still feel crappy and cant figure out if it is getting sick or my body clearing out for baby. i read that is a symptom, but i dont know.

and i think part of my mucous plug came out? something really nasty looking was there...um, sorry this is kinda gross. But it was really bizarre looking. I know it might or might not be the start of labor. i dont have any blood or anything like that so maybe its just me starting to dilate? I dunno....it was not pretty

im at work now and i feel crappy but today is my friday.
i go for my 39 wk exam tomorrowa nd i alos have a mandatory court depo on my day off. ICK. I was hoping i'd be in labor so i could be excused haha

Yea, Jen!! To me it sounds like your body's getting ready. Woohoo! You could possibly be cuddled up with your daughter this time next week! Yippee!

Off to wrangle my wee little one. He's supposed to be brushing his teeth to get ready for school. I hear pitter patter of his little feet upstairs and I think the roar of a monster truck. Hope everyone has a marvelous day. It's going to be beautiful and sunny here.

so..maybe it is the start of things. i keep saying i want this baby out now due to all the problems arising from it the last couple weeks. But on the other hand i'm really anxious/scared about the labor/delivery thing. But everyone else can do it, then so can i! Lets hope :) I've just never been thru this before so its all new to me.

i'll keep ya'll posted. the day you dont hear from me is the day i'm giving birth! :)
 
oh boy Jen. I'm excited for you!! :) Did you guys settle the name dispute? I hope you'll come back and say hi now and then after your bundle comes too or I might have to come snoop on the PP checkin hehe.

im not excited i feel like poo poo (literally). im having tea and its just not cooperating. i have not eaten today becuase im scared too :)

anyway, the name is going to be eva mae :) i dont love it, but i cant find a name i do love and we agreed thats a good enough name. haha poor kid, her mommy cant even name her. so as of today it will be eva and its been that way for a few weeks so i guess that is our final name of choice
 
Jen - sorry your not feeling well. :( I have had a couple days of the D word come and go the last few months but it went away. It COULD be a sign your body is preparing though but that didn't happen with me. Hope you feel better!

I think Eva Mae is very cute. I'm surprized you didn't go with Marlo though after how much you loved it before? Well maybe when you see her one of the names you have will just be perfect. ;)
 
Hi all,

I've been out-of-commission this week. Still very active and I have definitely popped. People are noticing. I guess that's normal at 7+ months preggo. I think I have sciatica, but not sure. Still working out, but modifying everything. I got a mini-trampoline yesterday for $15 so it was fun to jump on that this morning.
 
I have a mini tramp. they are fun. I have a few urban rebounding dvds but I only like the ones with JB Burns. I do the advanced only anymore. It's just a fun workout. They only sell them in groups now I got them way back when they were on individual dvd/vhs.

Sorry if you have sciatica? what are the symptoms? If it is a pinching sharp pain in your lower back and could possibly feel like its going down your leg when it has pressure on it - it is probably that.
I Hope I don't get that again too. so far not yet. I also have yet to get a leg cramp. I HATE those! I was told to stretch with my toes not pointed down and that maybe helping. Felt really weird at first but now I"m used to it.

I'm going to go do my glucose test today. wish me luck!!!!! I'm not eating anything sweet till then. I just ate my english muffin, canadian bacon, lf swiss and lightly fried egg sandwich for bfast.
 
hi everyone, how is your friday going?

laura welcome back! i know what you mean by being out of commision. i've done very limitied cardio the past two weeks becuase i think i have a sciatic issue too! its improved slightly. mostly i've been doing STS weights and just cardio once a week which is HARD. Today i did STS 10 and a TurboKick Sport Cardio a friend gave me - so i was able to get cardio in with slight modifications. Sucks. But im 39 weeks and 2 days

Im due WEDNESDAY!!!
But iw ent to the doctor today. she was digging around and could not even FIND my cervix
:( it was SO painful. Anyway no updates, doesnt seem liek anyhting is happening down there :( I have a feeling i'll be going past my due date next week. I hope things are ok...i know the placenta is really only good for about 40 weeks

now im wondering if my RH negative shot will still be good. They time it at 28 weeks so it carries you thru to 40. Now im wondering if i go past 40 what will happen with that?

Hi Jess :) How was the gucose test? I feel like it was forever ago that i did that. But it goes by so quickly!

Well... I am scheduled to have the baby in a little over two weeks!! (but felt like I was going to have her earlier this week!!). I told the doctor at my appointment today that was going to call last Tuesday night because I was feeling really badly. I told them that I didn't because it was so late @ night. The doc, let me know that they have someone on call all night, and that is what I am supposed to do----- silly me, I thought that if it wasn't business hours, I should just go to the emergency room. Now I know....

Well.... not much else is going on.

Hi everyone! I am finally back on. I do not have my computer, but DH let me borrow his old work laptop for now, starting today. I haven't had time to read through everyone's posts just yet but I hope you are all doing good. Looks like you are all still hanging around! I really thought I was going to go into labor today (I am 36 weeks tomorrow and remember this is my 3rd baby). I had moderately severe menstrual cramping, gross "D" all day - you know what I mean, and am losing some white chunks of you know what, in small quantities. Might be nothing though. Ewwww. Sounds so gross. I hope only us pregos get on here to read these posts!
Anyway, I am okay this minute, but seriously this morning I was looking up 10 things in my baby book and getting "ready". See, I was induced w/ both of my other babies and had epidurals like as soon as I felt a pain (I am such a baby). Sooo, I don't know what real labor really feels like since I never went into it on my own at home. I just know I am mighty uncomfortable and would love to have him a bit early. My first baby was 2 weeks late and my 2nd was like 3 days late. I Still have the pelvic diastasis too of course so I walk like John Wayne ... Okay, got lots to do, so I'll catch you all later! OY!!! I've had one of those days today.. I'm SO tired. But I'm about to leave to a valentines dinner at church in a minute and I'm almost too pooped to go but I did give them money for it since it was catered so I'm going. sigh. The kids will get pizza.
WELL to start it off I was going to get this jump up doorway thing on craigslist. The woman posted a link to amazon and its the same one I had in my cart and she said it was in perfect condition. SO she lives WAAY far from me but I did need to go somewhere on the way so ok. We had agreed on when about I'd get there but she wasn't home. She had her teenage looking daughter give it to me. At first it looked fine. I got in my car and then noticed it was NOT the same one from the link she gave. I called her and she said oh yeah I'm sorry I meant to tell you that. ugh! It also had quite a bit of wear. My phone battery JUST bit the dust then. SO after running one errand I went back and asked if she was home (she had said she would be soon) She wasn't so I politely appologized and asked if I could get a refund from the daugther. No way in HECK am I driving out there another time. She called her mom on her phone. The mom agreed and I left on my merry way. Later at home I got a nasty email from her saying I lied to her daughter that she had approved the refund and that she wasn't required to do that at all. uhm. (what the heck?!) well I wrote back very nice despite how rude she was and said I was surprized she was upset when she appologized that it was not as described on the phone. (this was over $15!!!!?) well whatever.

SO then I run like a maniac to the hospital cause this little return trip cost me time. I need to be there an hour before the lab closes to do the glucose test. I run like crazy inside too and get there JUST in time. shew! Just to find out my midwife DIDN'T put it in the system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ack. And being tomorrow is V day all the drs etc are off till tuesday. So NO ONE can put it in the system for me! I'm going to CRY. My appt is Wednesday. She said to do it before my next appt. The best I can do is call over there or stop by and get a dr or my midwife to put it in real quick and go over and do it Tuesday. Hope that she gets the results before my appt the next day. sigh!!! I also avoided sweets all day for this.. and I desperately wanted some sweet tea with lunch. oh well.

I just got a freaky bill that makes no sense for $165 from some bill collecter from ATandT?? we don't use them and haven't for years(if at all?).. wondering what the heck? I'm going to see what DH says.

I now have a throbbing headache. I'm tired and grumpy lol. I hope this evenings dinner just cheers me up instead of wearing me out more. lol.

I'll reply to all your comments/checkin stuff tonight I have to run now. outta time. sigh!

Ok. The lady wrote back and was much nicer. sheesh. She was in the wrong though selling something not as described. She also approved the refund over the phone. I also told her I was worried about the clasp on top as it seemed very loose and I've had one before and they are hard to open. It also smelled like smoke and had stains/dirty spots all over it.(I didn't say anything about that). She still claims it was like new and "like" the one she had a link for. The metal parts were chipping. uhm no. I wouldn't have paid $5 for it. sigh. I'm a bit discouraged of craigslist now. I only walked away with it in the first place cause I was chicken to say I didn't want it. I called her a few minutes later about it and she acknowledged it wasn't the same one. whatever.
Well the dinner was nice. I had a headache the whole time though. We had some extra food so I brought enough home for us to have tomorrow for dinner if I make some rice or something to go with.


Wow it seems several of you are very close. I'm sure we'll have several baby announcements soon! :)

Skyy- I hope you like Chalene extreme! I hope you get non scratched disks too. ha. My replacements look SO much better. I'm surprized they let those go like that.

Jen - I think they worry about the placenta more like 1-2 weeks after the due date. My second was a week late and they didn't induce me. I think they'll let you go a week over or so.

Clarissa - hang in there. You are close. I'm only 30 weeks on Tuesday. so I have a ways yet.

Jess - im so sorry abotu your bad day. i hope tomorrow is better for you! Craigslist can be hit or miss. I used to be able to sell a lot in DC but here in Fla its not as popular. However, i have had good luck purchasing baby items on there, so dont give up too much hope just yet. SOrry she wasnt honest. I could never mislead someone like that, but at least you got your money back :)
You church dinner sounds good!

Clarissa - maybe you are getting close. Wed i had that "d" problem all day and *think* i lost a tiny bit of my mucous plug (ugh). But nothing else since then and i feel pregnant. no contractions, no baby dropping....nothing...i was hoping to get some sort of action today. Sigh...i'll be 40 weeks wed, when im due (feb 18). Guess we will see what happens!

Im tired. I went grocery shopping around 7pm after DH left for work and my mom called> I did not get home until about 9. Then i baked some cupcakes for Valentines Day. DH and I do NOT celebrate Vday, but i got him a card, some cute chocolates and made these cupcakes. He's going to scold me. I was just thinking about him tonite and how much i love him so i figured what the heck, why not get him some cheesy Vday things . He's working but its ok. He can come home in the morning and see it. Its nothing big or major, too poor to afford anything else more

The cupcakes i'm trying are called "Be Mine Chocolate Cream Cupcakes" they look pretty good. its a chocolcate cupcake with a cream cheese suprise middle, topped with fresh whipped cream. I havent had any yet.

Anyway i've been on my feet from 7-1130pm without sitting down. needless to say i have obese feet and the swelling is going up past my shin. ugh...hurts...and DH isnt here to massage it out! oh well...gonna relax now and get to bed eventually

Hello, Skyy! Are you being induced or a c-section? My c-section date is in about 2 1/2 wks so we'll be about the same time. DS's Valentine's party turned out really well. It was a lot of fun and there was much for them to do. I think they even enjoyed the bingo game.

Jess, you're well into the final trimester! It should fly by, right? LOL The bill you got does sound strange. I would think (if you had used at&t) they would at least make several attempts before a collector got involved. Sounds like someone's fishing for $$$. Hope your day goes MUCH better tomorrow.

Jen, when's your next dr appt? Are they making you wait until Fri again or are they wanting you in on your due date?

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! No plans that I know of here. I have to work from 2-close (6ish) at the golf course. It's supposed to be cold and windy so I hope no one wants to golf, but I know there'll be some stubborn fools out there. I know I should be happy making a little bit of money, but I'm really ready to stop until some time this summer.
 
Jen, the cupcakes sounds delicious! That'll be such a great, unexpected surprise for him when he gets off work. Very sweet!
