Watercooler Wednesday

So...first of all...glad to see Tracy is amongst the living!! And...i have noticed that dear Wendy has posted a lot today...is that what happens after you take a couple of days off from us????? LOL!! :p

Okay....onto me for a minute...Got my yoga done today...had a lovely session with Eoin....He always brings me right with the world...Although, I have to say that during my shavasana, my dog was running around me squeaking one of her toys...which really isn't all that relaxing!! Other than that little lapse, it has been a nice day. And yes, Wendy, my mom actually does need help getting to the shoe store!!! But the 2 dresses I bought really weren't her fault:eek:  ! I am planning on yard work tomorrow as my cardio/circuit...hopefully my knee won't act up too bad. CBL has given me some interesting pain pills if it does, though...LOL!

personals...

Traci..
Sounds like you should already be in bed!! You had a long day today...with an extra tiring day tomorrow. How is the studying coming?? I am going to have a lot of that myself to do this summer since I am packing in 2 classes over a shorter session. I hope the pool has wireless! CBL's is, for sure, so I may end up there...since both of my classes are online...LOL! I do remember your illness during the concert last year...but at the time I didn't realize the significance!! Dang Wendell!! Stay healthy, 'cause I know you are definitely needing a margarita and a cheeseburger in paradise! Gosh...cleaning toilets instead of working out really doesn't sound like any fun...what were you thinking??

Sandra...
DD's recital was very cute! It was just K-2 and they are really funny at that age...and the program was definitely shorter than the Xmas one where all the lower school was involved...so that equals a good show!! I think if you do one body part a day, your muscles have more time to recuperate in between, so there isn't the added stress of doing tris plus chest on the same day, like we were talking about earlier in the week. I can't imagine you aren't working hard enough:D . Good lord....I hope you survived a day at the school! My DD's school is having a field day in a couple of weeks and they are asking for parent volunteers...I am thinking I am going to opt out of that one...It is on a Saturday, so let the darn dads get involved for once!! I will go ahead and pay for everyone's tickets as soon as I can book out far enough}( }( }( That's what he gets for being such a meanie! Didn't someone call child services on you last year for allowing your toddler to roam around unattended??? I guess you can't tie them to their beds while you go for nice bike ride...LOL!

Patricia...
I don't think that yoga has to be spiritual to be beneficial...My yoga teacher wasn't all that spiritual, but I got a ton out of taking the class since I got into poses correctly for the first time...I still know that I have better form from taking the class:) And I think that yoga is definitely a strength workout if done properly! I wonder about people on OD...don't they know when to leave well enough alone???? :+

Jeanette...
Grocery shopping??? Yuck! That is the worst chore in the world for me!! So, is this your first time having allergies?? I know a lot of people gain more allergies as they get older. I know I have more now than I used too:( I am sure I can find DH's preferred brand of beer...no problemo:7 :7 No, DD didn't have a costume on for it...they just had to do an interpretive dance to elephant sounding music...Incredibly cute!! :7

Wendy...
Glad your back is feeling better!!! All due to Phil's nightly rubbings, I am sure. }( }( Good for you for keeping away from all the craziness on OD...I just kind of feel like politics and religion are for close friends and family...and sometimes, not even then;) ;) WTH were you thinking with the pumice stone in the toilets?? Are you crazy or something?? I did take a couple of pics last night, but I haven't loaded them yet. WooHoo on the Eoin video!!! LOL about Bryan and the spooning...he gets a little close sometimes...but I tell you, if it were me...I don't think I would mind:eek: :7 The tick literally just crawled up the chair to sit next to me....Are you sure you want her?? She had a dangler the other day...IYKWIM!! Actually, the shoe store is new and my mom didn't know how to get to it...funny lady, that you are:+ :+ I did get my self a couple of cute wedges that she TOTALLY enabled me to get!! I WOULD have crashed the wedding with you...I didn't think the rest of the group was into it, so I didn't push the issue...Just let me know of a wedding you want to crash, and I will be there!! Maybe you can find us one while we are at the shore??

Carol...
I get really lax on my plucking...it seems to get to be a lot of work after a couple of weeks...so then I let them go for another week...and then it is completely out of hand...so I end up at the salon every 3 weeks or so:+ :+ Wine tasting in N. CA sounds divine!! That is definitely a trip I want to make some day. Sounds like you have been a busy bee:) :)

Laurie...
Shuuush ...A quickie with Eoin?? That should have made your day:) I actually took my mother shopping for shoes...but it is a rare event that I walk into a shoe store and buy anything...LOL. I don't see where there is anything wrong with that:p :p I'm telling you, those people on OD are crazy!! Luckily, I don't feel the need to get too involved in all of the silliness. :+

Tracy...
So glad to see you alive and well...It sounds like you have had 2 days of he** at work!! :( Good that DS is doing some running with you...I know that it is good to have a workout partner...and how great you get to share that with your son..

Okay, all...I am going to run for now...I think I am caught up for now!! Kisses to all...And to all a good night!!

Sheesh between all the reading on this board and over on OD today my eye muscles are getting a work out!;-)

Anyhow, did the full PUB today and really feeling it already. Been spending the evenings after dinner outside playing with the little one now that the weather is so good. For what ever reason DS is now terrified to get on his new bike and only wants to push it around. Well, at least it saves my back from pushing him for now. I'm sure he will get over it soon.

Carol - just wanted to say thank you for returning to the boards as the brief synapses given to you really brought this newcomer up to speed.

Wendy - thanks for the link to your yoga post. Sounds like we're on the save wave length. I always feel uncomfortable saying Namaste and do it just because. I have some power yoga videos from Baron Baptiste I have not done in a while I might pull them out. Not too sure who is Eoin?

I can't stay awake so will catch up tomorrow.

Just back to say...I missed Nicole!!!

Nicole...
So sorry, my love that I neglected you completely!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what happened....Some kind of brain google or another...anyway, I was checking back on to say good night and noticed I somehow missed my dear girl!! How are things in your neck of the woods?? I know it has been hard for you to get online lately, so I am always happy to see you check in. It looks like you are finding time to workout, though!! Yes, CBL has been a great person to have in my life while going through this whole divorce thing. It's not for sissies, you know!!

Okay...I am really going to bed now....nighty-night!

Evening,
I am sitting here on the couch with DH watching a documentary on the Nat Geo channel on sumo wrestlers. Crazy what they do to gain weight and train. They drink lots of beer, eat fat food and follow it up with a nap. What a life. I think my DH is waaaayy too interested in it. So maybe he's a sumo wrestler wannabe.

Had a busy day at work today and didn't get a walk in. Had to go to the bank, then grocery shopped. After getting home and taking a little catnap, I mowed the front and back lawns. Tomorrow I plan on a bike ride by myself. Predicted to be 69 degrees and sunny. Perrrrrfecccct! I have my route planned and it will be different hills than what I've done this year.

On to personals: My, oh my, you gals have been sooooo chatty. I hope I can get to everyone before bedtime.

Sandra, I know you will do fine on the metric. Like I said, if you can get up to doing a 40 mile ride sometime in the future, you will have no problem extending it a bit to get the metric distance. I punched in a flight from Reno to Edmonton and it's about $500, which is doable for next year. Of course if Debra's XDH pays for all of us, it won't be a worry at all. I don't know why the pie has to be served cold, except that Wendy said it does. Wendy??? Making pie crusts is definitely not one of my better skills. It will be an adventure. Know my Dad will love it!

Traci, oh wise one, are gas prices going to come down? Seems like nothing comes down, except my mutual funds and retirement $$$.

Wendy, why does the pie get served cold??? I can count on one hand the # of pies with real pie crust I have made (not graham cracker crusts). Looking forward to making it though. The Captain will be making clam chowder of course. What else would a sea captain make? I'm also going to make some biscuits to go with the chowder. I did enjoy my KB/Leg workout today. The legs won't have to work until the bike ride tomorrow. They are feeling stronger. Have you done a Cardio Coach workout yet? I've heard you talk a lot about one, but not sure you've ever actually done one. Forgive me if I missed hearing you talk about it. Thanks for the links to the jeans, though, gulp, they are pricey!!! Don't think my big hips would look good in anything like that, though DH would like it if I wore tighter clothes. Diagramming sentences? You're scaring me. I've noticed Bryan Kest correcting form on some of the guys. My DH would freak out being touched like that. Let me say, I don't plan on just leaving the apple pie over there without having a piece myself. Isn't there something in the Bible that says not to muzzle the ox that treads?

Debra, woohoo on the "A"!!! You deserve it for sure as you were the student that always came thru when those other slackers weren't prepared. Bet it is just so beautiful where you live now. Hey, if you're booking Wendy and Traci, book me too, okay??? I think I've had allergy problems before, but always just toughed it out until they passed. I just took another pill and feel pretty "dry" right now. Hope I can sleep tonite.

Nicole, I wore 2 pairs of gloves while coming down that long hill. The temp was in the 40's and with the wind chill (my top speed was 33), made for cold, cold, cold hands. My contacts got so cold, I could hardly close my eyes over them, even though I had sunglasses on. Tomorrow's hill climb will be much more comfortable. Is your back hurting you again?

Tracy, glad to see you back here. We were worried. Nice that you can run with your DS. Sorry about the bad days at work. I have my own headaches, but wouldn't trade for yours.

Carol, good to see you on here again. I was thinking life just got pretty busy. I'm really excited about STS too. No Road Trip for me, not even tempted. I had my fun last week and don't think much could top the experience. 3 other girlfriends and myself went to Napa/Santa Rosa a few years ago for a cycling trip. We had a great time riding and having nice meals in the evening. I really want to go back there.

Laurie, so you did yoga today? Good for you! So your calves are sore from 4DS Legs? I did that one today and I don't even remember working calves. Wish we had a Target here, but nnnooooo, just a Walmart. They don't have much in the way of workout wear at all. I'll let you know how the apple pie turns out. The recipe from Wendy looks absolutely yummy, but I've been known to ruin a good recipe by getting distracted and putting the wrong amounts in. I was thinking that during the wedding, when the preacher asks him who gives this woman, he might say, "Her mother and....." and not finish the sentence. I was shocked at how many posts were on here when I got home from work!!!

Latrese, good to hear how well Ted is feeling and how he's making you feel too!

Kim, thanks for checking into the company house in Edmonton.

Patricia, good job on the whole PUB. I'm so impatient, I only do the Up premix. Oh yes, don't believe Wendy as I am and always will be the laziest Xer. I'm so lazy, I bought store bought pie crust for her apple pie recipe. How old is your DS? I'm sure he'll get over the fear of the bike soon. Are there other kids that ride that he could play with?

Okay, it's now 9:30 p.m. and need to try to get to bed earlier tonite.

Jeanette
