Watercooler TGIF! I'm so ready to play!

Hi all,

Waiting for DS to get ready to go run. It's 86F, and it should make for and interesting run.

If you ever doubt that women can be bitches, just go to a controversial thread on the OD. And it's like they think posting is really going to make a noticable difference to anyone.

Traci- What exactly did you do to that arm? Was it too many arm movements with velocity involved? TJ looks like it has quite a bit of arm stuff.

Cara - Welcome.

Sandra - How was the workout? Believe it or not, I'm trying to add in floor work at least 1-2 times per week. It is painful on all fronts. Did I ever comment how much I hate floorwork?

TG - Quads too big huh? I think I'm getting too thick in the upper body.

Well he's ready so my time is cut short. BBL.

Happy weekend to all.

Tracy

Well gals, how's it going today? I am sitting here with my iced coffee w/nonfat milk and am ready to chat:) It's been too long since I have been able to.

I was reading up on raw eating yesterday and I really don't know how Lea does it. It is really involved and tough! I was hoping to do it for a few weeks to jump start my diet improvement but I don't know if I can. It would mean giving up coffee, sugar, white flour, processed foods, dairy and that is all my diet consists of so that would leave me with nada:D

Traci, So sorry to hear that the darned shoulder is bugging you again:( We are stubborn. aren't we? I too am guilty of letting an injury "almost" heal and using it too soon. I hate it when the body doesn't agree with the mindx( Well, you know with as much of a lower body fan as I am;) that that book may be of no use to me. I may have to check it out one day though if I keep beating up my upper body:D Enjoy your "time off"!

Sandra, The whole GS Legs? Maybe when I'm feeling insane;) I actually use to do it all the time but those days are gone! You and Tracy are too funny about floorwork. It's my favorite:) I feel like I can put more into it than when I'm standing. I made it through PS Legs great this morning. I prefer that leg workout to most of her others. Are you still editing today? That must be a long tedious process and one I don't envy.

Patricia, Friday morning donut? How did I get out of the loop on that one? I must try that:p I actually had one last week and vowed not to eat another one for at least a week:) Moderation, that's the key, right? Bummer deal on the no strenuous activity:( Just about anything of Cathe's is strenuous. I don't think you could even get away with yoga with all of the upside down stuff. Just take it easy,we all could vouch for that one! Yes, DS is so impressed with his cooking skills and insists on being the first one to try his wears:)

Debra, Oh, the farmer's market:) Have a nice time and I hope class went well. I agree with your mom that it's nice for all of us to have an outlet to vent and chat and laugh:) Glad things are going well with you and CBL! I am looking forward to the chance to meet everyone with all of this latest retreat talk. It must have gone well if the one for next year is already being planned:D Hope class went well!

Teddygirl, You are too funny:) Airplanes aren't all that bad. DH was scared for a while to but found out it wasn't all that bad. The up and down are over with pretty quick the cost is what's a killer!

Tracy, Glad today was an easy day at work. I know you don't get many of those. I see it's a s hot there as it is here. The only good thing about it is that I can get a little color on this pasty white skin:D Be careful running in this heat! I'm glad your DS will be with you sweating it out. How is your FIL doing by the way?

Jeanette, Dinner sounds yummy:9 I don't know how grandma could refuse! I'm sad to hear she's not doing so well. I just always have a picture in my mind of her with her romance novels dreaming away:) Thanks for sharing the photos so I can see all of the family in my mind when you talk about them. I've never done any of TS workouts. I am really stuck in a Cathe rut and I need to expand my horizons. That was one of the reasons I put CT in the other day. I do love her stuff! Been golfing lately? It has to be beautiful up there right now. Glad to hear you get a fancy updated office! That will change things up a bit:)

Wendy, DH join the check-in? I think not!! I escape here and vent about his absurd behavior:D Thanks for the sermon quip. I always love it when a sermon is addressed right at the husband:D I definitely don't here enough of those in a Law and Gospel Lutheran church. Not many of the sermons are related to everyday living. I think that's one thing they need to update is making the sermons pertain more to everyday living. So how exactly did you hurt your back? I know mine is from all of this computer stuff and I need a new desk to make it less painful. This screen and keyboard sit to low so I'm always looking down instead of straight ahead. Thanks for the link!!

Laurie, I have managed to miss saying hi to you in the few piddly personals I've done over the last few weeks and I'm so sorry:( How have you been doing? How are the girls? Any sports starting up soon? I think my DS is safe for a few weeks and then it's track and softball:p I will be so glad when school is over and I can hold nyself up in the house never to leave again:D Glad DH is home and the world is right again! It's nice when they're gone and great when they're back......sometimes:D

Carol, Glad to hear you are enjoying the same beautiful spring weather we are! I laid out in the sun for about 10 minutes today and it felt good! I am not looking forward to the summer so I'll enjoy this as long as I can! I love Eoin and his calming manner:) I think I'm going to get PY4H 2 as soon as I save up for it. He has a way of making me smile:) Glad I have a fellow legwork hater! I think all of the girls love it, crazy!

Kim, Hope work went well today. Good job on getting the run in last night. I too was shocked at Ozzy's departure last night. I really liked him and wouldn't have minded him winning the whole thing. Yep, as of Jan '08 passports are needed to visit Canada.

Cara, Welcome to our crazy group!

All right, that's a wrap all! I must go play with DS as he just woke up from his nap. Good timing:)

Finally some coffee/chat time! I had a productive but boring day today. After I dropped the kids at school I went to the UPS office to pick up my package from Cathe (I'm sure she packaged it herself ;-) ) So I got my slanted risers and high topper. The brokerage fees were almost $50 ;( So although it cost me $150 for those two pieces of equipment. Then off for groceries, then home to do Gym Style Back, SHoulders, and Biceps. Wow, were my forearms burning after those wrist curls. Also did Core max and then the rest of the day was CleanMax. I wan't really planning on doing so much cleaning but I think I got a little spring fever. ;)

My equipment came with a dvd, Rob Glick and Kimberley Speer using the slanted risers. Anyone have this dvd is it any good??

Jeanette- So what are you allergic too? Do you have a history of allergies? My family have quite the history of allergies/asthma. I'm always sneezing, coughing , rubbing my eyes, etc. Did you get to ride on Thursday? Congrats on the pay raise!

Debra- I'm sure the Diva was a beautiful graceful elephant! wooHoo on the A!!

Sandra- How was the volunteering at the school! I find that volunteering makes me appreciate my kids more (because so many more are worse behaved that mine)and makes me SO glad that I did not become a teacher.

Wendy That's so sweet about the massages from everyone, you seem like a very close family. So your back is better but your shoulder is worse? I wonder if they are connected, is it the same side of the body?
I always have lots of crazy people to talk to at work until I worked in a hospital I didn't realize how many troubled people there are. I don't have CC#1 but have most of the others, I'm sure you'll have a better workout once you've done it a few times to figure out the levels..

Carol Glad to see you back! The CA trip sounds like fun when are you going?

Tracy Goodness you have such a stressful job, there must be some rewards to keep you going. I was happy that Ali won on TBL, she looked awesome! Have a nice run! Do you and ds run about the same pace?

Cara Welcome to the check-in. What kind of challenge are you doing??

Laurie Did DH have a good trip to Las Vegas? Was he there with work? Hope your feeling better today!

Patricia That's great about the fruit basket at work! I hope I didn't spoil Survivor for you! I posted who got voted off before you posted that your tape didn't work!

Traci- Oh No! Traci! You sound like you in lots of pain. Hopefully a relaxing weekend away starts the healing process!

What's everyone up to this weekend! Saturday, my friend and I are running a 9 miler and then ds and I are going to a concert in the evening. We're going to see Brooks & Dunn, and Alan Jackson if there are any country music fans around. Sunday is church and maybe Butts and Gutts. Hopefully some yoga to stretch out as well.

Kim

Posting before I'm reduced to punching posts with my thumbs. I might stop and chat over the weekend. But, I'll mostly read due to being all thumbs.

Nicole: Nice to see you have a moment of peace. Come on join in on the month long lower body blast with Traci and me. About my back/shoulder injury see post to Kim.

Tracy: It's up to you to hold up the fort over the weekend. Do you have Rodney Yee's Power Yoga? He stretches the front hip flexors and quads in that one.

Kim: OUCH! That's a lot of $$$ for slanted risers. If you had a workout room, an incline/decline bench would have been cheaper. That's my problem, I don't have a workout room. If dh would finish our huge attic, I would!!! I think he's procrastinating until the kids all move out! About my pulled muscle... It's all interconnected at the top of my back/shoulder. I first noticed a sharp pain in my left shoulder at the top of my arm during during child's pose on Sunday. Later that night was when I felt a deep pressure pain over my entire back. That freaked me out since I know I'm not in labor. So, I popped Advil for a few days before trying to workout again. Also, dh massaged my back every night. He never found that problem spot. But, it did help to relieve the overall back pressure. When went to warm up with the X's CST, I felt a sharp pain deep in my right shoulder blade every time my feet hit the ground during jogging and jumping jacks. Then on the first shoulder exercise, I felt a sharp pain in the top of my left arm/shoulder. That's when dh said I must have pulled a muscle. I think it all happened when I tried doing eagle pose while sitting at the computer Friday? or Saturday? Anyhow, my body was cold and I wasn't thinking how stupid it was to stretch and twist a cold body. Glad you asked?:+

Jeanette: I do believe you are right about me showing you Eagle pose while we were previewing Eoin PY4H2. By that time my entire body was warm from the two??? glasses of wine.:D

Okay ladies, I have to fold some clothes so Phil can pack up the car.

Have a great weekend!!!

Wendy

Whole Wheat & Flax Meal Pizza Crust w/ mushrooms, shallots, bell peppers and a light sprinkling of mozzerella:9 Delicious! I'll post the recipe on Tuesday!

Just thought I'd share:D

Everyone...Look what time my post is!! I am just sitting down to say hello and to tell you that I am not dead. I worked in the yard ALL afternoon, and Julia had a couple of the neighbor girls over for a while...and then CBL came by to fix my bed...don't ask how that happened...lol! Then DD's friends were gone, so she and I popped in a movie around 9 and I just stuck her in the bed. We will have to finish up the movie tomorrow. It seems like such a long day!! Ugh. Class was good this morning...and I got the highest test score again....Even though it was only a 94...but by golly, I will take it!! I have got to do some research for an outside group project that is 20% of my grade...so, it needs to be a FANTASTIC presentation...and I don't have a lot of faith in the rest of them...I don't care if I have to do all the work...I WILL get an A on that one!!!!

We had a great time at the farmer's market...And then we went to Lowe's to get some more mulch and a few other odds and ends. Then I started yard work...Which, again, I am counting as my circuit workout for the day....Don't you love all of my rationalizations??? Whatever works, I guess...Or at least for me...LOL!

I am getting ready to hit the sack...so I will have to catch up with personals over the weekend. DD, my mom and I are headed to an antique show in the morning...And I MUST vacuum the main level before the dust bunnies completely take over. It sounds like everyone is doing well...except for Traci and her darn shoulder! Nice to see everyone around today...I promise to catch up over the weekend!!

Nighty-night to all...

Debra
