Wanting something new...

Okay, I only have PUB/PLB dvd, Classics dvd (still fairly new to Cathe and step) & Ab Hits dvd. What next? I really, really want a tush like Cathe. You know what I mean...toned. Three pregnancies has left my rear in need of toning. I want some serious body sculpting. I have only been at my rotation with those for about 3 consistent weeks, then we were moving and in temporary housing so I ended up just doing cardio (boy did I pay for that the other day). I'm setting myself for a serious six week, 5 day/week routine. Any input as to what I should get next? I don't have a ton of moola, so no smart answers about "just buy them all". ;) Believe me, today I was trying to figure out how to do that!

TIA

This is tricky because they are all sooo good. I think the PYRAMIDS can be your main weight rotation for awhile because they have you know: The UP/DOWN premixes or the Total Body Bonus. So you can use them differently for a long time. So there is no immediate need to rush and get another weight series. Now would you be interested in IMAX2 and CW? In this DVD I highly recommend IM2. It is awesome cardio. CW doesn't do it for me at all. Of the entire series that one hardly gets used. Bootcamp is good because you don't need a step to do it. ME is an easier version of PH ( legwise, although it has 3 sets of legpresses, soundtrack isn't as good but better than most videos out there, the upperbody seems a lot better than PH )and so I like it.
It depends what you are looking for. Other excellent cardios :RS ...circuits: Cmax and Powercircuit. Total Body: PH rocks.
You don't have any endurance ones yet in your collection.

If you can just get one, and you can afford it, maybe the CTX series would be good - it has a whole variety of different cardio workouts that can be used, as well as good weight training exercises - ala 1 body part upper each day and one full leg workout. There are so many different combos and rotations you can do with it and it makes for a lot of fun!

For good tush-cardio training, consider getting Cathe's workouts that have kickbox in them, especially those that have a lot of good rear and side push-kicks as well as roundhouse kicks:

CTX Power Circuit (the last 10 minutes of the leg circuit segment is step-kickbox, which I love)

Circuit Max (the third and fourth cycles are floor and step-kickbox)

CTX Kickbox

Cardio Kicks

Boot Camp (has some great kickbox leg-training cycles that keep your HR up AND really bang the legs and glutes)

CTX 10-10-10 (has a great kickbox warm-up and aerobic segment)

Hope this helps -

My choices would be the Power Hour dvd...the lunges are killer, and it's just a fun and different change of pace from the pyramids. The dvd also has BodyMax which is very versatile as well as MIS which has a great leg workout on it as well. If you had enough money I'd also get the IM2/C&W dvd....IM2 is a great cardio boost for you and the premixes for C&W are excellent!

Hi Sue,
I am 43 soon to be 44, married 22 yrs and have 2 sons 17 and 20, until March 3rd, I have never exercised consistant lol.
I understand the weight gain, I have lost 24 lbs since March 3rd. I really like MIS, it helped me alot, I recently got Power Hour and Winsor Pilates AB scuplting and Buns and Thigh scuplting. These have all really helped me. I started at 138lbs, the heaviest I have ever been, now I am at 114lbs. Wish you all the best praise God ..... Rhonda :7

I agree with several of the other posts. The pyramid weight series will last you for a while, and contains some of the best butt work. Kickboxing would be a good cardio workout that also works the lower body well. How about the Cardio Kicks/Circuit Max DVD?

When you're ready for more weight workouts, the PH DVD is a good choice.

If you'd like to do some combo cardio and weight workouts, the Muscular Endurance/Boot Camp DVD is a good choice.

Thanks ladies! I've pretty much decided to go with CTX but I'm still contemplating. Thanks for all of the input!

Sue-
Just want to add one comment. I've tried most of Cathe's strength and endurance training workouts and I love them all. However, the pyramid workouts in my opinon give the fastest results, and the leg press exercise in PLB cannot be beat for shaping glutes. Granted, the pyramid workouts seem a bit more boring than the others; but therein lies their power. 5 sets on each muscle group maybe not be as exciting as fast changes, but that kind of concentration is what gives you the fast results. Whatever you may buy next, stay with the pyramids for a while before moving on. And make sure you have a 14" high surface for those leg presses. Some people say they go lower, but I am as petite as Cathe and the 14" is quite comfortable for me. Any lower, and you may not get the maximum results. Enjoy and keep us posted on your progress!

Nancy,

Funny you should post this. I had come to the conclusion the other day that I had to switch back to using 14" for the workout or accept that my tush wasn't going to look as good as I'd like. I was thinking back to when I was getting results and it was when I was doing Firm and using the 14". I'm dying for the topper so I can stop using my fanny lifter (I hate that name).

Thanks again!
