wanting another like circuit max

I just did circuit max for the first time today and LOVED it! Loved doing different types of cardio and weights. Any other suggestions? I did have Cross Train Xpress, but prefer to hit as many parts as possible with one workout. I can't tell from the descriptions which new one might be for me...thanks for any suggestions...Joanne

I agree with you, circuit style workouts are excellent.

Try CTX Power Circuit. I love it. You could team it up with the 28 minute circuit section from the middle of Body max too.

I think from Cathe's new description of her new Cardio with Weights vid from the Intensity Series, currently available on the Ask Cathe section, this is also a circuit w/o and I can't wait, it ounds fab. Her new Boot Camp is also similar in style. Take a look at her descriptions of these two on the other forum.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-22-02 AT 00:23AM (Est)[p]Another suggestion is to do the cardio portion of CTX's Power Circuit, which hits the legs, and then the upper body segment of either MIS or Body Max. This will hit all groups and give you cardio too in about 70 min. Power Hour isn't cardio, but it hits all the muscle groups and moves very fast. Have fun!

ClareMC is right on target! One of my favorite Cathe "mish-moshes" is:

Rhythmic Step or I-Max warm-up
Body Max step circuit segment
Power Circuit circuit segment

(total running time 50-53 minutes depending on which warm-up you use)

I too am a confirmed Circuit-Max-O-Phile, and I love circuit workouts in general.

The new Intensity Series workouts Cardio - Weights, and Boot Camp, both incorporate the circuit format into their respective routines. And, from the initial descriptions, the bonus features Cathe is placing on the DVDs reshuffle these workouts into OTHER circuit-style workouts in at least 2 instances. One of the many reasons I bought the whole darn package two days after it went on presale the first time.

Oh, lord. I just watched a clip of circuit max. Does anyone actually enjoy jumping around like that with your brain bobbing around inside your skull and your boobs flying through the air? Seriously, ladies, I'd be very interested to know what you enjoy about it. It hurts me just to watch it.

I enjoy Circuit Max because Cathe has created such great variety in one workout. I love moving so quickly from hi/lo, step and kickbox to weights. I love it because I am really challenged to give my ALL during the five minute cardio sessions, knowing that I am going to get a "break" (ha!) during the weights. I love how athletic the movements are. It feels more like an intense P.E. class than an "exercise" tape. As for the boobs flying around I just wear two really heavy-duty bras. And believe me I have to while I'm nursing, these breasts are quite large. I also love it because I feel like I just conquered the world when I have finished it. Those are just a few of the reasons why I love Circuit Max. I'm sure others can chime in...Heather

Heather said it very well... another reason I love it is that I can get in both cardio and weights in an hour. During the week I don't have much time to work out, so I appreciate getting both things done at once. The endorphins just FLOW after this one...the boob issue is not a problem for me :-rollen.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS! :)

I haven't got any boobs left after two pregnancies!! So no wories there!

As for the brain!?!?!?!?!?!@

I just did Circuit Max this morning...it was great! I had been staying away from it because of all the impact, but I just modified as needed. I got a great workout - cardio with weights all in an hour - just what I needed this week! I did not find it difficult to modify.

I totally love this workout! I love the yellow top, the pants, her whole demeanor ( not too perky ... don't like perky at 5 am ), the warm up ( like warm ups that just jump right in and feel almost like part of the work out, older workouts where they spend ages on a warm up drive me nuts ... not fond of PS warm ups or Power Max or Body Max warm ups, but love CMAX, CK, and PC and S&H ) the music is good ...like the step portion with the V-steps and tap dance. Bobbi gave me this DVD and she totally hooked me on Cathe!
Good tadpole bra from title9sports is a must for flopping boobies. Lots of ice water and good shoes are recommended. This workout is a blast. It kills me the first 30 minutes but I must get to the V steps and the repeater tap down scissor twice section at the end!

I too completely agree with all the comments. I LOVE this video. I too have little time sometimes during the week. I love it because I can get a killer workout in only 60 minutes!!!! It has been a life saver for me a couple times. I also like Power Circuit and BodyMax. I did Body Max in it's entirety this morning and can feel it all over! :)

Aquajack --thanks for the ideas on mixing BodyMax and PowerCircuit. Sometimes I do Power Circuit and want a little more. That might be just the trick I need.

R_Lam...I am with you here. I thought I was the only one that felt this way. The warmup on those workouts drive me insane!!!! I get an attitude against them and then don't even do the tapes...which is a shame! Now that I transferred everything to DVD and sold my VHS tapes...I can skip those sections and go right into the good stuff. :)

Take a break, "slurp" ;-) the coffee, be nice to yourself and others and enjoy your life...Runathon http://www.plauder-smilies.de/happy/coffee.gif[/img]
