Want to lessen cardio/increase strength

I've been doing 45-60 minutes of cardio with weights for 5 days a week for many years. I would like to change my routine by decreasing cardio to 30 minutes 5 days a week and incorporate weight training on at least 3 or 4 days. I'm afraid I will lose the shape of my body I've worked so hard to get by decreasing cardio. I feel pressure to keep 45-60 minutes cardio plus add weights, but I don't have the extra time or motivation to do give any more time. Can you offer any input for me? Will the increased muscle I get from weight training use up the calories I won't be expending with the extra cardio time?
