Wanna laugh at my equipment modifications..........

I have a green and pink step that is evidently shorter than the ones used on Cathe's tapes, and I am also taller than Cathe so that doesn't help either. Well I don't have money for a longer step, soooooo I took the bottom portion of my boys potty seat( not used for a really long time) and when turned upside down it becomes a step stool. I use it on the end of my step so when I use it as a weight bench my bottom isn't on the floor!! Because if my bottom is on the step then my head is on the floor, lol!! Plus I stack it on top of the step for one arm rows and the like in Power Hour because otherwise the step is too short and my table top back would be uneven instead of flat as Cathe says it should be.

Also I am so proud of myself I can do girl style push ups now when I used to only do push outs from the wall. I am gaining some upper body strength.:7 Makes me feel good.

Anyway now you have another way to use a old forgotten potty seat/chair.

I too did the forgotten potty seat step modification and it worked!! It also travelled with us well when we went on vacation even though my daughter had long outgrown the need for one! Was yours a Fischer Price?

Now I'll tell you about my barbell. Since we have a bench, and tons of weight plates already and my husband already has a barbell that is longer than me, I really did not want to get another weight set just for a barbell, and it is hard just to buy a short barbell. So my husband made me one out of an old closet pole that we had in the garage as we redid our closet with one of those "systems". The pole is old fashioned solid core wood and he cut it down to a size I felt comfortable with. The he routed and sanded it to safely accomodate my poundage. We already had industrial strength clips so the plates will not move or fall off! He even found some pipe insulation that he used for the padding to make it more comfortable on my neck.

I never knew recycling could be done for fitness products!

Yes, Deb the potty seat/step stool is Fisher Price. That is really ingenious about modifying a closet pole as a barbell. I still have to buy a barbell. Amazing what we can come up with to save a few pennies and/or dollars.

Thanks for sharing.
