Why is Starbuck a female (humm sex change maybe) and why are the Cylons female and sexy also?!?}( I mean if you are going to revitalize an old series at least keep the main characters intact. I really liked Starbuck and can't image his character as a female.

I haven't watched it because of the above changes and if I ever do it will take a loooooooooong time to grow on me. :)

Anybody else think this was just WRONG!!!}(

Did you watch the miniseries last year? I actually like the new show alot. But it has only been 2 episodes. I love the new Starbuck too - even though I had a crush on Dirk Benedict as a kid. In this series, the humans created the Cylons and they are the children coming home to get even with their parents. In the old series, humans got involved in some conflict the Cylons (another race) was having with another species. I think to enjoy the show you have to forget about the old series.

Me too. I hate it. The only single decent thing, IMHO, about the show is the inclusion of Richard Hatch but even his presence isn't enough to make it worth watching. I enjoyed the original Battlestar Galactica but the mini-series and the new series (thankfully it's just finished here in England) is just filled with whining actors, bad plots and awful dialogue. It's like Eastenders in space only worse. There was an interview with Dirk Benedict (the real Starbuck) who made it clear he feels the same way that we do :D

That said I do know a lot of people who love it and the original.

I watched it a few weeks ago. I swear who ever wrote this new series is a sex maniac. Everyone was getting it on! I guess they need to take creative writing b/c sex doesn't move the story along...It just takes up time to cover up poor writting! I'm quoting my creative writting teacher Mrs. Holland.
My oldest sister, who was a major BSG fan, was so upset when Starbuck became a girl who just has to over play the tough girl attitude. I find her unbareable and annoying. There are other ways of being tough and mature at the same time. That is something the new Starbuck lacks in her character--MATURITY. She acts like a little spoiled brat with no respect and no morals or dignity.
I don't think the new series is worth watching until they get new writers.
