VOL 1 INTENSITY SERIES AEROBICS CHALLENGE

I just received VOL 1 INTENSITY SERIES IMAX 2 & CARDIO W/ WEIGHTS. I am an advanced exerciser but aerobic stepping is NOT my strength. I'm finding the footwork challenging (especially when I'm supposed to move in front of my step and have my back to the TV). I'm looking for a suggestion for a CATHE DVD which will help me learn the step sequences and also help me improve my stepping coordination. Should I order BASIC STEP & BODY FUSION or HIGH STEP CIRCUIT? Thank you for your help.

If you are advanced get MIC.You have 35 minutes of hi/low and 35 minutes of step easy to learn.I think SB and SJP are great too. I have done basic step and body fusion and if you are an advanced exerciser maybe it will be to much easy for you.The people who have it increase the height of the step to make it harder. You can try old cathe workouts as step fit if you want to learn the cathe step moves.Hope this help.

Since you are an advanced exerciser I think Basic Step might be a bit low on the intensity scale and you'd grow out of it quickly. I learned her step by buying her earlier workouts, like Mega Step Blast, Step Heat and Step Max. These can be found on her Classics DVD or Cardio Hits DVD.

Thanks Stayfit and Leslie for understanding and answering my question with qualified information. I'll take your advice and pass on the Basic Step workout and preview the others you both suggested. I really appreciate your help. Cathe and her fans like both of you ROCK!

No problem! We love giving advice around here! Of course, you know what this means, don't you?? We'll be soon sending subliminal messages to you telling you that you're going to have to buy every Cathe workout out there! It happens to almost every newbie who visits this board to ask an innocent question!}( ;)

I am in a similar situation, advanced exerciser, choreographically challenged! I did buy the beg/int workouts for that reason, and I would say that if you are brand new to Cathe's choreography, they are helpful. I had already figured out the step patterns for CTX Step Intervals by the time I bought these easier workouts, so they weren't that helpful. But, I did think they would have been helpful if I had bought them before I did CTX. Cathe does take you through a couple of tricky moves (one of her around the world moves, step-face-in-over). That being said, the workouts ARE, as many have said, too easy aerobically. I haven't used them again. I am now just learning the steps for Step Blast, and I found that doing the warmup and first two combos TWICE on the first go-round and waiting to learn the third (so that I still get the equivalent of a whole workout) is a good way to learn the steps without getting too frustrated -- the third combo turns around way too much -- I was getting too dizzy trying to learn it! I'll tackle that another day.....

LESLIE: Cathe had me at ME....she had me at ME! That VHS came w/ my HI-STEP but alas, I'm a DVD junkie so I immediately ordered ME & BC in DVD format. Imagine my elation when the PRE-SALE for Hardcore appeared on my screen! Far be it for me to pass up an opportunity to be one of the "first kids on the block" to have the newest, cutting edge Cathe workouts! PLUS I could "SAVE" $100.!! Yahoo! No one had to twist this Cathe-convert's arm! Of course I had to take advantage of the FREE S&H on any other workout ordered with the HARDCORE pre-order (another opportunity to "SAVE" $$$!)and that's how I acquired HST. This is my workout rotation: 1st DAY STRENGTH, 2nd DAY CARDIO, 3rd DAY PILATES or REST. So after doing the cardio only segments from ME and BC on my CARDIO days, I wanted a longer CATHE cardio workout (without weights) so I ordered IMAX2 & C&W. All of the aforementioned workouts have been purchased in the span of 4 months! Suffice to say, I'm hooked! Please don't waste your energy sending me sublimal messages to buy more! (Obviously I don't need any encouragment in that area!) If you're an earlier morning (4AM/4:30AM) exerciser, please channel your energy into sending me a sublimal message to get my butt outta bed and lace up my sneakers! (I've been having a challenge in that area and have been working out in the PM after work. YUK! Not my cup of tea.) AnyWHO, I previwed SB & SJP, the Classics and Cardio Hits DVDs and also took a look at MSB (even though it's only available in VHS. Is that right?) I'm TORN! SB & SJP or The Classics DVD??

I'm a whenever-i-can-fit-it-in-and-have-the-energy exerciser. Right now my youngest DD is in morning kindergarten, so I have my mornings free and this is when I usually do cardio. It takes a lot more energy for me to do cardio than weights. I'll save the weights or yoga for the evening, when DH gets home and can watch the kids. Sorry, I'm sound asleep at 4am, so I'll only be able to channel you some ZZZZZZZZ's, which is not what you want!

SBJ/SB is one of my favorites right now. Probably because it's the newest and I just learned it. If I had to choose for you, I'd go with the Classics because she does more breaking down of moves with the workouts on that DVD. I have Step Jam and Step Works but have never done them! Don't know why, just never got around to it. On preview they look a little more complicated choreowise. I did Power Max this morning. Lots of people around here love this workout. It is a lot of fun.

Once you master her choreo you'll have to get Rhythmic Step! The music in this workout is awesome and you'll be so proud of yourself once you learn the routine. I remember previewing it and thinking, I'll never be able to master this one. It took a while, but I did it!

Hi Leslie!
Just wanted to drop you line to say I've been using the Classics DVD and my confidence is building. Thank you again for suggesting this DVD. It's definitely helping me overcome my choreography challenge!
