Videos Like Pure Strength

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a video that is similar to Pure Strength? I am currently on a PS rotation and I love working a couple of body parts at a time since I have been doing total body workouts for some time now. I do have S&H, but I don't care for it that much. Entirely to slow for me. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I hope Cathe makes a Pure Strength II.

Cory Everson did a set of videos a few years back called the Basic Sculpting Series. There are three videos divided into three workout days just like PS. Each workout is 30 minutes long. It's a great little series, but it's been out a while and might be hard to find.

Back and Biceps
Hips, Thighs and Calves
Chest, Shoulders and Triceps

I think Power Hour or MIS would be similar. I recently got these in DVD and really like the way they feel. I like all of Cathe's weight based workouts. ...:)...Carole

Since you already have Slow and Heavy, why not change it up a bit and do a 2/2 count while they do a 6/2 count? Just a thought.

The only other split routines that Cathe has are the Pyramids (upper body/lower body) and the workouts in CTX. You could, however, create your own split routine. For example, PH or MIS are full-body workouts, but you could split them up and do different segments on different days.

A couple of ideas::
1) As Kathryn said, try CTX. Its too hard to do in entirety and do it full justice. It works well as 2 body parts per day.
2) I have also dreaded slow and heavy so I've mixed it up by only doing 2 instead of 3 sets of the exercises, and doing the body parts like PS (I just really like that type of split of back and bis one day then chest-sh-tris.) You can double time the count and do 16 instead of 8 reps also if you like.
3) I don't think MIS or PH has enough exercises to do splits of only one body part per week like you can do with PS and SH.
4) An equivalent legs workout to PS is PLB. Legs and Glutes is more endurance but is soooo thourough working every fiber in your lower body and excellent ankle weight and floor work. It would be a good substitute for PS legs I think. Lean legs doesn't have any floor work or outer thigh/medial glutes which you really need to keep your hip muscles in balance and avoid injury. So if you do LL, add in some outer thigh lifts at least.
