Video for Mom?

Hi all,

I’m looking for a video to help my mother begin exercising again. She is 51 years old and has had surgery for bone spurs in her right heel. Bone spurs in both her heels have caused chronic pain for her, so any high impact is out. Just from the last few months of reading what you all have to say, I can’t think of a better group of people to ask for an opinion on this. She has only recently begun exercising again and prefers segments of cardio for about 20 minutes at this stage; otherwise the foot pain will get the best of her. Can anyone think of a good, easy to follow, fun, low impact workout I could send her to try? I’ve been scouring the VF site and reading about various videos but I’m hoping that some of you out there might have a recommendation.

My dear mom… I really want her to keep exercising on a regular basis! She feels so much better when she does. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I got my mom Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Walk and she liked it a lot. Leslie has lots of videos that are unintimidating, low impact and easy to follow. Or how about Richard Simmons? I'm not familiar with his videos, but they seem like fun for beginners and your mom might enjoy the music.
Hope your mom's heel feels better soon.

What about Margaret Richardson of the Body Electric program?I used to do her weight segments when she aired on my public television channel. I liked her. Margaret is over 50 herself. I think you can check her videos out at bodyelectrictv.com. (Sorry if it has changed.) Jeanne

My mom is in her 60's and is recovering from a severe shoulder injury. She just purchasedo one of those chair exercise videos - I wish I knew the name - she purchased it at collagevideo.com - look under specialties - it isn't aerobic but would be good for toning. Good luck.

Hi, I just sent my 60+ MIL the 3 Firm Basics tapes. Some wt. work to increase strength and some cardio thrown in. VERY low impact. Robin.

Margaret Richard has just recently put out a workout which might work for your Mom. It's called 50+ Exercise With Margaret Richard, & you can get it on collagevideo.com for just $11.95.

As I expected, good stuff from everyone ;-). Thank you very much for all of your suggestions, now I have specific videos that I can research. I'm off to VF!
