VHS to DVD

I'd love to replace my Cathe vhs with dvd's. I already own the entire Intensity Series on dvd and have ordered the Body Blast series on dvd. I have all of Cathe's other workouts on vhs. If I were to ask for dvd versions for Christmas which would be best or should I just keep my vhs?? I know most of her older dvd's dont have premixes so other than taking up less space and dvd's having a crisper picture is there a good reason to replace my older vhs with dvds?? FYI....my dvd player only holds one dvd at a time.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Stacy,

I went from VHS to DVD and I would suggest getting the PS Series on DVD. I usually do all of the upper body portion of the PS Series in one day and the do legs another day.

I also like the CTX on DVD. I do all of the upper body on one day, and sometimes I like mixing the cardio or combining CTX cardio. The others workouts I would not replace because I use most of them as they are.

DVD makes it very easy to skip and combine workouts. If you don't mind taking the time to cue the VHS then you don't need to replace any of them.

Hope I have been of some help!!

Terri ;-)

I replaced all of my VHS with DVD. Besides the value with CTX and the PS Series, you can mix and match chapters on all including the cardios. For example on the classics you could do chapter 1 and 2 of Step Jam and 2 and 3 of Step Max or whatever you want! Or maybe you want to do hi/lo on MIC and then Interval blasts 2 - 7 on IMAX. The mixing is so easy versus trying to do that with tapes. I am glad I replaced them with DVD's as I mix and match all the time. It's opened a whole new world to creating my own workouts to suit my mood! You don't need the DVD's for the premixes since you can create your own!

I also have a plain old one disk dvd player.
And I have almost every Cathe dvd there is.
Worth every penny to get them all on dvd's
I also do all the PS upper body work in one day and legs the next. It's so easy to do on dvd.

Thanks!! I was already considering purchasing PS on dvd. I'm not sure yet about CTX since I have CTX UB on vhs and right now I'm only using the CTX cardios for days I dont have alot of time, but if "Santa" is paying I may have to reconsider ;)

Merry Christmas,

Stacy

Stacy:

I am in the same situation as you and I want to provide a different perspective to that of the other posters.

If I had the money, which I have not, I would get the Circuit Max DVD and CTX DVD, and that's it. Those are the only workouts that already feature a degree of flexibility and whose value would therefore be increeased by getting on DVD.

I think the answer depends on how YOU STACY typically use your Cathe workouts. If you are not a great MishMosh person, then why bother spending more money unneccesarily, there's no point in trying to keep up with what everyone else may be doing.

If you typically do Powermax all the way though and never vary that, then why get it on DVD?

If you have a one disc player, you are not going to be pre-programming and lining up 5 different DVD's all at once selecting different parts from each, so where's the hassle in doing the cardio of Powermax on VHS, for example, and then a weights section from PUB or PLB on DVD?

Stacy: how much money do you have? Is there really nothing else your money would be better spent on or SAVED, dare I say it, almost a dirty word in the Bush economy.

The final question I always ask myself when trying to decide between luxury and necessity is: is this purchase significantly going to change the quality of my life? You know, it's the question Carrie Bradshaw never asks herself when staring through the Manolo Blahnik shop window!

If the answer to that is yes, then go ahead and flash that credit card. But if it is no, then Suzie Orman (think that's her name) of the financial guidance pages of Oprah magazine would be proud of you.

See ya,

Clare

Hi Clare thanks for you thoughts!! I'm fairly certain I wont be purchasing CTX on dvd, the cost seems to outweigh any benefits for me personally. I had never even considered getting Circuit Max on dvd so I was wondering if you could share your reasoning behind that suggestion.

Thanks!!!

:) Stacy
