It's good to eat a variety of veggies of different colors, as the colors reflect certain nutrients. (for example, orange goes along with beta carotene--pro vitamin A). From your list, you have covered the green and orange veggies (though more variety in those would be good as well). Adding some red (red peppers?) and yellow (yellow peppers, yellow squash)and even white (onions, rutabaga, daikon radish)would be good.

Sweet potatoes and broccoli are very good choices! Keep on eatin' 'em!

i was thinkin of adding peppers with my salad. i also add dried cherries and nuts or chicken plus carrots and it becomes a meal. what is rutabaga?

It's good to add a variety of vegetables into your diet. I will make a "mix" of red, yellow, orange and green peppers, yellow and green squash, green beans, Broccoli , portablla mushroom, asparagus. sometimes I'll throw in some sundried tomatoes and steam spinach on the top. I do not eat carrots or onions. (yuk)

Rutabaga is similar to the turnip except it's a litte more yellow and has smooth, waxy leaves. They are high in Vitamin C and I believe its a vegetable mainly put in stews.
