Thanks, Kathryn! Another stupid question: if I'm going to look for nutritional yeast, what section would I find this in? I'm assuming I'd have to go to a Whole Foods to find this, yes? Where in Whole Foods would I look?
My local health food store has it in near the supplements. Another health food store/coop I go to has it in bulk ( cheaper!) in with things like flour and dried fruit. Thanks, Kathryn! One tip. There are three types of nutritional yeast: powder, small flakes and large flakes. 1 Tbsp of the powder is equal to 1 1/2 T of small flakes and 2 T of large flakes.I went to WF today and asked--they led me to the bulk section . I was surprised to see that looks (and smells a LITTLE) like dried chicken boullion! I read in The Flexitarian Diet that it tastes a little like parmesan and that it's good to sprinkle on foods. Especially good for vegans as a source of B12.
Good to know!
