Using VCR & DVD player

Sometime ago I read a post that told how you can have both a dvd player and VCR hooked up so you could switch back and forth.
I am planning on buying a 5 disc player, and want to order the new workouts on dvds. However, I have so many tapes and want to replace them slowly and would like to be able to use both the vcr and dvd player without a lot of trouble.
Any help before the Oct 31st presale deadline would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Why don't you get a dual DVD/VCR combo? I got ours at Costco for about $150. The brand is: Go Video. It is wonderful. Unless, of course, you want to be able to program the Player with different DVDs. In that case, you would need to get a solo DVD unit. Just thought I would point you in the DVD/VCR combo direction! :)

It's really not a big deal to hook up both a VCR and DVD player to your TV. I have this set-up: VCR to TV, Cable to VCR, DVD to TV. The type of connection to the tv is different for the VCR and the DVD player. The VCR uses a cable tv like connector, while the DVD uses an RCA connection(I think that's the right term). Just check the manual of the DVD player, or see how it connects in the store before you purchase. I'd be happy to draw a diagram up and send it to you if you like. Just let me know,

Beth

PS - Just wanted to add that it really depends on your TV, whether you have digital cable, regular cable, dish, etc. I know if I was to do the VCR, DVD hookup at my inlaws, the configuration would be totally different as they have a dish, and a projection screen. I'm sure it's do-able though. Again, let me know if I can offer any help. :)
