User Names

Some of you have interesting User Names and I'm just wondering where they come from?

Mine is from a t-shirt someone brought my daughter from Greece that has three stick women on it wearing funky bikinis and bandanas and underneath it says "All Wild Girls". So I kind of ran it all together and now it's my user name on most everything I use!

However, I'm thinking that I should have used Limecat on here, because that's what everyone calls me!
 
Oh my gosh Shelley - you are a telepathic scary person! I was going to post this same topic! I, too, noticed the proliferation of interesting usernames and was very curious about them.

I'm materialsgirl (not to be confused with Madonna's material girl) because I'm a materials engineer. Well, that's what my degree is in. Right now I'm trying to be a mechanical engineer, but I always come back to my materials roots. I can explain what a materials engineer is for anyone who isn't sure. (I get lots of funny looks when I tell people I'm a materials engineer. Like "What the heck is that?")
 
I took the name of my mentor, who doubles as my cat.

I have a great idea! Shelley, why don't you create a new user name and become Limecat??? It would change your number of postings back to zero and you could impress everyone by getting back up in the 800 range within a week!! (chuckles to herself and rubs hands together)

Hey this is a great idea to explain our user names! Especially since on other places people see mine and think it means nastym0m! My son years ago used a nick and still does that is nastard. So he gave me nastm0m short for nastardsm0m. He always had me use the 0 instead of the o. Now he is 23 and sometimes I think he regrets that but oh well it stuck and I still use it :) Cant wait to see everyone elses!

HA!!! Nice try Lunacat, but I'm not giving up my 800-odd posts. My fingers are mere STUMPS from posting so much in so little time but it was ALL WORTH IT - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

well mine came from our initial love of the Dillbert characters. Our son was first boobert when we didn't know the sex and then Boybert. It just stuck!

I have had "Likes2bfit" for my e-mail address since the mid nineties, so I just adopted it for my user name here. Later, a few other "X-2bfit" user names emerged, so I changed mine to JAFitMama. My initials, my hobby (fitness) and my main occupation (parenting) are all put into one user name.

Mine's not original at all...my first name, the first 3 letters of my last name and my birth year...I wasn't feeling very creative that day! lol

I've wondered about some of the unique user names too. Especially the ones that have nothing in common with the signatures of the poster. I got mine from my DD. We were discussing possible user names at dinner one night, and I said, sighing, I want to be buff girl. Knowing my love for Jimmy Buffett music, my DD suggested I be "Buff"et girl. No, it is not buffet girl.....
 
Mine is pretty basic. Part of my last name with the number 5 since there is my DH, me and our 3 kids. I was not feeling very creative that day.

Mine's kinda silly - don't laugh. My bf's last name is Finnane, his nickname is Fin, so I'm Fin's Girl. FNSGRL1 is my license plate. (now I'm really embarrassed!!)

Mine comes from my pug, Maximus. We got him 2 weeks after we saw the Gladiator & the ex insisted on it. I also have an old dog named Cosmo, I do play favorites & she is it, but that name was already taken. x(

If y'all are interested, my real name is Laura. :)

That's the other thing I should have added. If it's not apparent from your signature, what IS your real name?

My last name is Best and we live in the west (Montana). My husband came up with it for something and I hijacked it!! I almost used PET FIXR, which is on my license plate (I'm a veterinarian).

This is a fun thread!!!;)
 
I think it is in the Tri's & Bi's workout where Cathe says something about "it feeling toasty in there". I thought that was so cute when she said that. Anyhow, I am one stubborn women that loves a challenge so I will push myself until failure with the strength training almost everytime so I am thinking that I must be "toastythemosty". ;-)

Good idea for a thread!

Banslug...when my Beach Volleyball team was looking for a team naem to call ourselves, we couldn't agree on anything creative. So the captain had us think of a fruit - BANANA. Then an insect or bug - SLUG. We became the Banana Slugs. I shortened it to banslug for user names on almost everything I visit.

Funny thing is, we found out there is a college somewhere in the US whose mascot actually IS a Banana Slug!
