Upper body workouts when using L&G in a rotation

I usually like to keep Cathe's strength series together so I'll do PUB/PLB and so on. Anyway, I have had the L&G workout for 2 months now and I haven't done it. I want to, but I am not sure how to fit it into a rotation. I really don't like the slow and heavy legs, so I was thinking about doing this instead during a SH rotation and then doing the shoulders with either the back and chest workout or the tricep and bicep workout.

How do all of you incorporate L&G into your strength workout??

Thanks,
Karin

I usually do L&G one day and then either Super Sets Upper Body Blast Premix or Cardio and Weights the next.

I don't like S&H legs, either. I'm not sure why, I just don't find it challenging.

I think you can do any upper body workout along with L&G and you might find that more interesting than always pairing a series up together. PUB/PLB has a bunch of premixes, so that might be one way of getting a variety of workouts that feel fresh. Another option would be CTX Upper Body, if you have that series. (Great workout, great series, fantastic if you are short on time.)

Good luck!

I often alternate Legs & Glutes with Leaner Legs when I'm doing a CTX rotation.

I also use the Legs & Glutes / Kick Punch Crunch premixes when I want to get some cardio and leg work done on the same day.

Funny, I find it so odd that so many people think S&H legs is easy. I find it VERY challenging. I get sore from that one like I do with no other. I use heavy weights (60 lb barbell and then I put 20 lbs in a back pack for squats, 70 lbs total for lunges, and about 65 lbs total for plies). I love it!!! I usually do the leg drills from KM or the ball segement from PLB afterwards to top it off.

I am with Jillybean here on S&H. I usually add on a floor workout or do KM leg toning or sometime do something on my own to target inner outer thighs more. I would think with L&G you could stick with a more Endurance based upper body workout like ME upper premix, or CTX upper premix, MIS upper. It really depends on what you are working for.

Jillybean,
I was thinking the same thing: S&H legs, not challenging?? I don't use nearn the wts you do but I do try to match Cathe and my legs fry!! I guess everyone is different. Hence different style workouts and that's a good thing.

Jillybean--when you say you use 20 lbs in a backpack for squats, are just talking about sticking a couple 10 pounders in a regular old backpack? Or is there some special "backpack" I don't know about?

Legs & Glutes is an ideal workout to do either the day before or after Cardio & Weights or Circuit Max. Both workouts have some good upper body weights, but no lower body counterpart.
