Upper body workout

I am not interested in step, cardio, or lowerbody work. I simply want a good solid upper body workout that is between 30 - 45 minutes. It would be great if it is 30 minutes and if it is on a lower/upper tape, I just want to be able to speed forward to the upper body portion or better yet on a DVD. Never done Cathe before.

Many thanks

Hi! There are a few to choose from!Since your request is specific--may I suggest the new released CTX upperbody! She has the Pure Strength tapes for specific parts and also SLOW and Heavy(specific parts)Also Body max has an upperbody segment for about 26 mins then you can do the abs but you have to fastforward past step and legs! Also MIS--same deal FF til upperbody and abs!Wedding tape has upperbody work too--got to FF again! Power hour is like bodypump it's soo fun you'll want do it entirely! It also includes upperbody! Whichever tape you decide you will be soo excited with your results! Cathe is amazing and I must add addictive!I don't know what your workouts are like now but you are sure to get whipped into better shape if you didn't think it was possible!Welcome to the forum and good luck on your decisions!Your friend in fitness~~Francine

Ha!

I had to laugh at Francine's excitement about all the tapes! As you can see by Franci's suggestions, you can't narrow it down to just ONE tape. Get them all!!! ( And don't forget about Cathe's great quanity discount.)

RE: Ha!

I would suggest the Power Hour/Maximum Intensity Strength/Body Max DVD. All three of these workouts have excellent upper body strength work, and you'll have the option of mixing and matching with the DVD format.

My personal favorite is Slow and Heavy, and with DVD you can pretty much design your own routine, but you will get more variety with the PH/MIS/BM DVD.

Francine and Debbie are tell'n the truth, it's really difficult to narrow the choice down to one video. All of Cathe's strength work is outstanding!

My own suggestion would be Power Hour, if you want a speedy workout. Slow and Heavy tapes are very long, so if time is an issue, those tapes are not for you.

You can also get the MIS tape and divide it into lower and upper. If you're not interested in step, don't get BodyMax.

As for the CTX series, each body part takes about 10 minutes, so you do the math.

I second Cyberfit's recommendation: the Power Hour+ DVD w/ MIS & Bodymax so that you can quickly get to the sections you want. I often just work upper & abs. Bodymax is the most time efficient. But if I have the time, MIS is more challenging (more sets & slower tempo) while Powerhour the most fun. The MIS & Bodymax warm-ups use a step - I tend to use the Powerhour warmup or a rowing machine.

Have fun.

I did order the recommended DVD and I thank you for your recommendations. I am a long time The Firm user(have them all- since Vol 1 and now a Fit Prime believer as well.) Middle age male with little time who wants to buff up his upper body. Hate the gym and liked what I saw on the previews.

Many thanks again for your friendly and helpful responses.
