Undulating Warriors March 8 - March 14

Happy Friday Warriors!

We are back to rainy, windy, cold weather. I did see a little bunny eating new green sprouts this morning, so I know spring is out there somewhere and is on it's way.

I just finished Back&Biceps. Holy crap, my biceps are so fatigued I think lifting anything today is out of the picture. This Undulating rotation has been excellent - my goodness - it is definitely keeping me on my toes. I'm not doing any cardio today, just not into it. Burned out? Maybe.

Heather - Thank you so much for the lecture. I know the scale increase is muscle, but the increase in my thigh width freaked me out. Thank you also for the PF info. I massaged and stretched my foot this morning, while still in bed, it seemed to help a lot and thankfully I am not at the rice krispy stage. I do think it was from doing Step wearing old shoes and an orthotic. My foot feels better without the orthotic and I rotated the shoes. I saw your post on Aqua Jock's thread, re: Budokon. I am really intrigued and interested in that form of body-weight exercise MMA. Are you considering buying them? Has abdominal work helped your back at all?

Cathy - I am still suffering DOMS (or DOGS - delayd onset glute soreness) from Legs on Wednesday. I hope the soak in the tub fore stalls your discomfort. That is so funny that your boys learned cows don't just "moo" sweetly like in story books.

Did you see that Cathe is looking for feedback on Ab Circuits for her next QVC promo? Sadly, not that many ladies have responded.

Well - tomorrow is another leg workout, probably B&G. I'll try to muster up the interest to do something cardio based too.

Hey again

Just wanted to say that I totally caved on Bukodon... DH is going away for 2 weeks so I wanted to get something else to do in the evening... did that sound like good reasoning??? It just looked soooo cool how he was moving! I'll let you know what I think!

I guess I am wondering how much all this ab work has helped my back. It does feel really strong but maybe I just moved in way that I shouldn't have!
Glad I didn't offend you with my lecture ... sorry:D!

Talk to you all tomorrow!

:D:D I was just logging in to re-phrase my sentence from "lecture" to "reminder". I appreciate and NEED all the reminders I can get, otherwise I am left with my own subjectivity, and remain stuck in an information vacuum.

Yes! Please let me know about Budokon, I came very close to ordering them last night!

:D

Hi Warriors,

Another Friday is here! Yippee! I got up & did HIS/LIS double cardio premix this AM. I'm suppose to do biceps tonight, but I think I'll save it for Sat AM. From the sounds of it (from Heather), I'll need to be refreshed & rejuvenated before tackling it. Hard to believe we are going to start our final 3 wks on Monday!

Janis, I think spliting the workouts is a good idea---It just some happened that I had decided to do that today before I read your post! It definitely saves me from having to get up as early! I'll see how it goes the next few days. I can't squeeze in the lunchtime workout as I usually am finishing up some AM work during my lunch hour, but at least splitting it up in AM & PM workouts should help. I hadn't seen Cathe's thread about needing feedback for Ab Circuits. I'll check it out & may post if still few have replied.

Heather, thanks again for sending the running rotation. It doesn't look overwhelmingly hard and as I looked it over, I felt like it was something I can do! It stinks that your back is taking long to get back to normal. I'm sure it's frustrating. Keep resting it though so that it will recover properly & hopefully not give you any trouble in the future.

Cathy, I felt the same way when I did Legs this week! I had to pause a lot to give me a few extra seconds to get ready for the next exercise. My legs were DOMSy the day after, so it was a challenge. My low back did feel it quite a bit too, but mainly during the workout only. I had to stop a rep or two early on the deadlifts. Hope your bath relieved all your DOMS!

See you all tomorrow or Sunday,
Tara

Well I think I managed to avoid the major DOMS again this week. So far I'm ok, at least. Rest day - shopping day for me. Supposed to be rainy here today, but also near 50, so at least it's springlike weather. Hopefully, things will start turning green real soon.

I hope you all have a fun Saturday!

Happy Sunshine-y Saturday!

I decided to run this morning and do B&G on Sunday. I ran to CCv6 on the treadmill. Good run -saw an increase in pace and distance.

Wow - we really only have 3 weeks more? Did it fly by for everyone too?

I wish I could say I am DOM free. My biceps are still crying from yesterday and my butt is still store from Wednesday.

Tara - What do they say, great minds think a like. Or is that crazy minds think a like? lol. Two half hour segments sound like they are the perfect fit for you to not only get the job done, but to stay motivated too.

Heather - My foot seems better, stretching after warming up really helped. Thanks.

Cathy - Enjoy your rest day!

MJ - How are you? I watched a "What Not to Wear" while I was running on the treadmill. It was the most recent episode with a breast cancer survivor. They turned her from a blonde to a red head. Wow! Did she look amazing.

Gotta go do a bunch of family stuff and chores. Have a great weekend warriors.
:D

Hey Everyone

It's not so sun shiny here! The wind is wicked strong. On the way to hockey we say 4 trees down and another two on hydro lines! Our power was out for the entire time that we were gone.

Today I have been doing alot of stretching and back tension relaxing yoga. I don't think that my back appreciated working yesterday. I am going to have to keep a lid on it for a little bit and stick to walking. I am going to try Cardio coach to walking tomorrow and see how that goes. I really doubt that I will be able to keep myself from running but I have to right????

Anyways,

Janis - I am glad you had a nice run and the weather is nice, also that the stretch helped your foot! I honestly do them every day now. If I could just find a magic stretch for my back now...

Cathy - I hope you had fun shopping!

Tara - Hope you are having a lazy relaxing Sat!

MJ - Hope all is well out there is Florida!

Talk to you soon
Heather

Hi Ladies,

I did a late morning workout today: Biceps from Disc 21, Athletic step & Yoga inspired abs.
Those DW Bicep curls were hard. During the second wave, I did the 12 rep set, but only could do eight on the 10 rep set. I eeked out 8 on the final set & of course Cathe says, "Does everyone have bonus reps in them?" I said out loud, "NO!" :)

Heather, I did have a very lazy, relaxing Saturday & accomplished little other than washing some dishes! But it was enjoyable! I imagine it's hard to be satisfied with walking when you're used to running. Hope your back gets to feeling normal soon!

Cathy, How was your rest day & shopping? Hopefully wonderful!

Janis, My shoulders are still DOMSy from Tuesday. I had a hard time doing some of the planks in yoga Abs. I hope they will feel better by tomorrow before we start up heavy weights with Meso 3!

MJ, How's the last few days been for you? Hope work isn't too busy & you've been doing well!

See you all tomorrow!
Tara

This morning I did Athletic Step. I really didn't have a lot of energy, which didn't make sense because I had a good night's sleep, but I did manage to do it. For years I've managed to not eat until after my workout with no problem at all, and once I get going I'm usually still fine, but I may have to start having a little something before if I keep waking up starving. I'm hoping it's just a phase and I'll switch back to not waking up hungry again.

Tara I hardly ever do Cathe's little upper body bonuses! Just doing the regular reps is plenty. Sometimes on the to failure ones I get a decent number of reps in, but when she starts those bonuses where she slows down and changes the speed/counts I just extend my rest time!

Heather we aren't seeing any of that sunshine either! We had some wind yesterday, because our Christmas tree (still in stand in the bird feeding area) fell over, but nothing near what would be uprooting trees! I do hope your back is feeling better. Are you sure it's just sore and not something out of place? I've had both, and I have to say that the times it's just been sore it's taken a lot longer than I liked to get back to normal. Of course, not helped by the fact that I couldn't bring myself to really rest it and kept working out. I sure hope yours is better soon, because it is definitely not fun and is very frustrating.

Janis for whatever my biceps rarely get sore, my forearms will, but not my biceps. Even when I push them as hard as I can. Of upper body parts, those are the hardest for me to feel. Even though when I do bicep exercises I can be struggling really hard to get my reps in. Sounds like you had a lovely day for your run.

MJ I hope that things are going well with you!

Oh, and when I go shopping on Saturdays it's mostly groceries. Yesterday though I was on a mission to get what I needed to learn how to make socks. Had to go to 3 different places before I found yarn and even then I was just ok with it. So, I have the needles and the yarn and I got a couple books at the library. But, if the books don't work, I have someone who's going to help me at a conference I'm going to in April.

Enjoy your day!
