Undulating Warriors Feb 22nd - 28th!

Ok, apparently while not a lot of snow fell, as with Heather we have had winds all day long wreaking havoc. DH called around 3:00 and wanted to know how the roads were. He'd actually taken the van today and barely made it out drive and our road was a mess. I'd only noticed that I could still see the paved road, so didn't think much of it until I went out!:eek::eek: Biggest drifts we've had all year. They did have school here, because the bus went by at it's normal time and they had plowed our road. I've shoveled enough that he can get a decent way up the drive and I'll be going out again. Most of it is at least 12" some closer to 18" and it's heavy. I came in and ate a big piece of the banana bread I made yesterday (figure I already burned it off) and now I'm getting ready to go back out again.

Janis I would love to see even the tiniest bit of green right now. Other than the evergreens that are around we have none.

Hope you guys aren't overly sore from Disk 33. My tri's are still really sore from Wednesday!

MJ hope you can pop in soon!

How's it going Tara?

Back to the snow - and apparently the winds are going to be with us until at least midnight, so I may get to repeat all this in the morning again.

Happy Saturday Warriors!

Sorry I have been MIA this week. Part of my job includes healthcare renewal and negotiations for the company, so this past week I have been buried at work. Unfortunately with no results to show for it, its like banging your head into a brick wall over and over again to try to get the health insurance carriers to do anything humane like give decent healthcare at reasonable costs, instead they just keep trying to destroy everyone by raising the healthcare costs to unfathomable amounts and especially this year. So its been a tough week, very draining and I havent solved anything, plus now I have to figure out how we are going to cope with the insane increase, then figure out my escape plan when I have to tell the employees so I dont get killed by the mob. *sigh* On the brightside, I am physically strong enough this year that I can actually out run the mob if needed :p

Anyway, my workouts have been sporatic at best, so I am trying to get back on track this weekend. Unfortunately it is still cold and/or rainy this week and weekend, so no tennis! But in the spirit of getting myself to try new activities, I bought myself a present this week....inline skates! Once upon a time, in a land far far away during my teenage years, I was a comptetitive ice skater and always loved skating of any kind, so re-learning to inline skate and add it to my fitness fun has been on the list for a long time. So next Saturday I take a beginners inline skate class for a couple of hours to learn some techniques, then I will be off trying not to kill myself. lol So far I have managed to skate around inside the house on the hardwood floors without injury. See the things you can get away with when you live alone. lol

Looks like all of you had a great week of workouts and exceeding your own expectations for meso 3. Very impressive. Its amazing the amount of snow and cold this year, I cant believe another round of big storms hit. Hopefully we will all get a break soon.

Tara, way to go on surviving the 12 hr days!

Cathy, I am glad you are now healed and are able to resume almost all your former activities!

Heather, hope you can unbury the skating rink so you can enjoy it. How was your workout on the skating slider?

Janis, I am very impressed with your progress in step. You will soon be the queen of all step routines! lol Did you try the LIC step only premix yet?

Alright, time for me to go workout, think I will do some step to get me going.

Check back later this weekend.

MJ that's really great that you are taking up in-line skating. I enjoy it, but there's really nowhere near here to do it. :( It's one of the things I would do a lot if I could. And hey, being able to out run a mob is definitely a handy talent to have. ;) I'm guessing come October we'll be hearing about additional costs to us for DH's insurance. We still have it far better off than most people, but they keep inching things up and it seems that some of our coverage is getting iffy. I don't envy you having to figure it all out.

Ok, I know that some of you have also done Disk 39 this week. Could someone explain to me how it's possible that my INNER thighs are the sorest part of my legs. My hamstrings, glutes and quads are a bit sore and I would have expected that, but inner thighs I hadn't figured on.

I topped at about 2 hrs of shoveling yesterday and thankfully the wind died down and didn't cause more problems overnight, so we were able to get out and go this morning.

Have a good weekend Warrior Ladies!!

Hi Ladies

I am happy to report that I was able to increase weights on Squat Rack legs too. Today I did Kickmax to workout the residual DOMs. The leg drills at the end are so subtle - but - man was I feeling them. I kept thinking they would be a great addition to our one-legged workout!:D

MJ - HR issues are difficult. No wonder you have been overwhelmed and bogged down, how frustrating to not be able to bring it to a conclusion. In California there is absolutely no competition in the Insurance business. Only 6 companies are allowed to provide services, having a hold on the market allows them to drive the prices. It's ridiculous. We need tort reform and we need to be able to cross state lines to have more insurance options. I love roller-blading! I haven't in years, but I used to when my youngest would ride in the running stroller. It is so good for the lower back and core too. I am happy happy happy you gave yourself a fitness reward!:) I haven't tried the LIC premix yet, thanks for the reminder.

Cathy - The inner thigh doms, which I have too, I think I are from the front squat. What a wild winter you and Heather have had, where snow fall is being measured in feet not inches! May this be the last of the winter storms. The news was calling it a Snow-icane.

Heather - what is the sliding thing? Is it like a skating or skiing? I can't seem to visualize it.

Tara - How was shoulder's bi's and tri's for you? Are your triceps complaining like mine are?

Hey Everyone

I only have a minute but I will be back later for more comments!!! This morning I went for a 60 minute steady state run in the sun. It was so nice and oddly rejuvenating. When I got back I did the Butts and Guts floorwork and abs - then the stretch. Maybe overkill but I really worked my butt!
K - I'll be back soon!
Heather

Heather what is that sun you speak of....oh I forgot I live between the 46th and 55th cloudiest cities in the U.S. I would LOVE to see at least a couple full days of sunshine soon. However, I do think it's great that you got to go running in the sun. I'm just a bit green that's all. :D

Janis I'm in awe that you could do Kick Max. I took the day off from cardio and did an hour of yoga, because my legs were so sore that I couldn't bring myself to use them for anything else. My triceps are finally feeling better. Apparently, this week of M3 W3 really did a number on my muscles and now back to M1 to kill them in a different way. That's going to be a major shock.

Off to print off my workout cards and make broccoli soup!

Okay, now I can really reply!

Cathy - I know it was so strange to see the sun... it only lasted for the morning but we paid dearly for our short time with it this weekend. Yesterday I re-shovel maxed the ice rink. The snow was so heavy that I had to scoop it and carry it to the edge and dump it. Unfortunately now the edges are so high it was a lift and dump! I honestly think that the front squats are the main reason I am not doing Squat rack legs! I really found that they made my legs (really my knees) sore but not in a good way. Hope that you 2 hour shovel max didn't kill your back!

Janis - The slider thing is like a smooth sheet of heavy plastic that has bumpers on each end. It is about 2.5 yards long and maybe 3' in width. You push off at one side and glide to the other bumper. You can do it in socked feet or in shoes with little booties on. It's like speed skating or inline skating but you don't go anywhere! Funny that MJ was talking about inline skating too! I still haven't got press play yet but I will download it. Thanks for the tip!

MJ - I love inline skating too. When I was at school I used to do it all the time but now I am out in the country and live on gravel. The paved road that I am close to is pretty narrow and is risky just to run on let alone try and skate on. It is such a good leg workout! The slider thing really emulates inline skating and it was a great workout...I wasn't 100% sure what was the best thing to do with my upper body but my heart rate got right up there!
That is too bad that you had such a trying week! I have to say that I really do like our Canadian system, we only get to argue about drug coverage and dental coverage. I am sure that your diplomatic skills will win out one way or another and if in doubt your physical skills can take over...maybe some MMA Boxing moves?

Tara - I had just assumed that you must be sucked up in the work vortex but after reading Cathy's post I hope all is well with you!

So Meso 1 tomorrow!!! That means push-ups, push-ups and more push-ups! I am ready! I am thinking of doing IMAX2 after just for fun and something different!
Talk to you tomorrow
Heather
