Hello and Happy Labor Day everyone. Does anyone know if Cathe or SNM have listed the equipment needed for the new series of workouts? I'm loving the pictures and the blog but I'm getting a little nervous about the amount of equipment I'm seeing. I have a very small workout space, . . . really, really, small and as much as I liked STS and the fact that it is a very effective workout the only thing I didn't like was the equipment set up. I don't have room for a tower, . . .I just recently got a standing bag because I oh so love Cathe's newest kickboxing/heavy bag DVD's and even with that I was pushing my limits. My living room is my workout room/family room/dining room, . . . I think my husband is really wanting me to stop already. Thanks in advance.

Hi Janie! You'll be happy to know that there is not a lot of bulky equipment needed at all. The main players in these workouts are your basics: a barbell OR various weighted handweights, a resistance band, and a paper plate.

Intensity uses a step for some of the segments, but not all.

High Reps does not use a step at all. All you need is the basic equipment listed above.

Lower Body Blast uses a high step (along with the basic equipment listed above) . We use the Turbo Tower for a bonus segment and if you choose to do this segment you can use the back side of a chair and get the same effect.

STS Total Body is the only workout that uses a Turbo Tower as well as a step made to be the height of a weight bench. If you choose not to use the tower, substitute pushups for bench presses. You can also do chest flys on a standard 8 inch full sized step. We have pull ups as a bonus segment. If you choose to do this segment you can substitute the pull ups with a heavy tension resistance band hanging from your door as we have demonstrated in STS weight workout series. If not sure just ask and I will explain this Band Pull down to you.

I think you will love the versatility these workouts deliver without needing more than your basic equipment. :D

Great thanks Cathe!!! Holy moly, . . I feel special. Cathe herself answered my question! I look forward to getting my new workouts and even though my space is limited I just might have to find a way to make that pull up tower work in my tiny teeny room. :)

Another option for pullups that is very space friendly is the Lebert Equalizer. You cannot use it to hold a barbell for bench presses like the tower, but you can use it for pull ups and the bar work in the bonus section. It has two parts that are very easy to move around and store.

I'm using it for STS now and love it.

Equipment, nyah!

I don't buy all that stuff. Sometimes I don't even pull out the benches because I can do most exercises on a chair/floor. And personally, I won't buy the tower. I have a bench with weight rack and a pull up bar that fits in my doorway. Eventually, it's too much equipment and that's the whole reason I quit The Firm. With Cathe, it's the basic equipment all the time. No wave thingy, no step that can fold on each end and then custom workouts only for those. I can modify what I have in my workout equipment arsenal to fit any Cathe workout.
