Umbilical Hernia

Hi!
Well, I managed to go 15 years after my twins were born (I swear thanks to Cathe keeping me so strong)but it‘s finally time to get my hernia fixed. It’s now hurting. Has anyone had umbilical hernia surgery? What is the healing process like? any advice is appreciated. thanks so much!

It's been a few years since I had surgery (maybe 10-12), so I don't remember a ton. I do remember that I walked a 5k fundraiser 2 days after surgery. I kind of held my stomach and took it slow, but the doctor said I could walk so ....!
