U2 3D

DH and I went out to the IMAX theater at Smithsonian tonight to see this film for his birthday.

I'm not a great U2 fan myself, but I've always liked their music. This film completely rocked! And it's not just a 3D film of a concert - there's all kinds of original special effects, too, that make it more interesting.

It was like being at a concert without all the inconvenience but with a lot of extras.

Anyway, JMHO.

Thanks for the review! I never make it to the movies these days, but I've GOT to see this. I *love* U2 - they were the second band I ever saw in concert back in '88.

I have always wanted to see U2 in concert. This would probably be the closest thing to it that I can get!!

I used to be a big fan - saw them on the Zoo TV tour a bunch of years ago and they were fabulous live. I just find that they're overplayed.

Heehee - you do get to see the band members very up-close! DH remarked, "Yeah, that's about as close to Bono as I think I want to get!" Heehee!

Thanks for the review. I am a HUGE U2 fan!! I can't wait to see this. I have seen them live twice and they are amazing! Up-close?? Hmmm...I don't think I would mind being a little closer to Bono, and especially, "The Edge"!!!!!
