I just found out today at the doctors office after an x-ray I have damaged my knees BOTH of them LOL. well I am not discouraged, He has me going to physical therapy to learn new exercises to help my knees and taking Glucosamine to help and going to be fitted with some special stuff for my shoes that will help my knees, but for right now I have to stop stepping and work on those exercises and when I do start to step again I have to go low impact and work my way back up, I am not upset about it I figured poop happens and I can deal with it No problem but I will be good as new if I stick to the plan he has for me. The only regret I have is that I did not take care of my self when I was younger and healthier. I only hope my kids will take care of them selves when they grow older. I only hope I can reverse some of the damage I caused my body from the years of abuse when I was younger.

Leslie, sorry to hear this but glad to hear your positve attitude! Good for you! I am very glad to hear you will be able to do your normal workouts once you are healed. Be a good patient! Also, I take Glucosamine with Chondroitin & MSM and it has done wonders for any aches and pains and my knee joints. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Leslie, I have had to become a low impacter myself. A couple of years ago I developed Plantar Fascitis and it went down hill from there! My doggone dogs have been big troublemakers and I had a hard time coming to terms with not running which I love, but in the end, I am blessed because of all I CAN do and a little bit the the higher stuff may not be out of the question in the future. Thank heaven's for Cathe because her workouts can be modified to suit low impact! Maybe next summer we can talk her into doing a low impact high intensity workout for us!

Hang in there, lady! Let your knees heal and find some gentle exercises to tide you over! With your doctors's permission, I highly recommend yoga. It makes me feel good and it has the benefit of calming me down. I too take glucosamine and chondroitin. I inured my left knee crashing into a wall when I was roller skating as a teenager. For some reason the left side of my body is prone to injury. It's my left knee, my left foot. I have awesome orthotics which have really made a huge difference in keeping me going. You keep you lovely chin up and listen to your body and you'll be back in the game in no time. I know you have what it takes to get through this and end up stronger and wiser. I am so impressed with your huor and gentleness! I will never be able to look at my washing machine in the same way! Our Sunday morning "conversation" was such a joy that I felt fabulous all day and I was still chuckling when I read my son his bedtime story! You have had so much to deal with but remember that it will pass. It always does! I am praying for you speedy recovery and sending you big hugs!

The doctor is going to fit me some orthotics for my shoes and some knee braces for both my knees. they x-rayed both my knees and shows where I have worn joint. I am not too upset about it, just not real thrilled about putting ice on my knees LOL me and the cold are mortal enemies LMAO!!! I guess I will survive it LOL. I do hope Cathe will make a tape for low impact high intesity.
I laughed so hard Sunday my kids kept asking me what I am laughing at! That was such a hoot!! ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))
