Turbo Jam - Anyone ?

Anybody out there tried Turbo Jam ? I love Kick boxing and would love to find some new workout dvd's.:

It's OK for a light day. Not very intense though.

What do you have? Once we know what you have we can fill in the gaps. ;)

I love the fun factor of these workouts! I agree with LauraMax, not very intense if that's what you're looking for...but FUN! Can't do these and stay in a bad mood!:D

There's a definite fun factor involved! the music is a blast and I always get way into the workouts. They may not be as long as Cathe workouts, but I think there is a good intensity thrown in. My HR gets up to it's max at least a few times, and maintains a good burn rate during the whole thing. I'm always dripping at the end!

And I've been consistantly working out for 5+ years, 6 days a week.

they also work the core like no other cardio I've ever done!

I LOVE turbo jam! Chalene Johnson is a fun instructor.
I agree with the intensity. It's an intermediate cardio workout.
I personally will not add weighted gloves because the moves are a little crazy but the fun factor is way up there!
If I want a more intensity, I'll do 2 cardio parties back to back.

Turbo Jam

I don not have ANY of the Turbo Jam and was trying to decide if ANY of them are good and a long workout. Any ideas of FUN kICK BOX workouts that are easy to follow - but for the Advanced excerciser?

Yep - gotta love the fun factor with TJ!! It's because of that I'm a Turbo Kick Instructor now. The music is great and Chalene has a great personality. In fact, now that you mention it - I think I'll do that tonight AND the Ab Jam, that's a great workout for the abs. ;)

I believe I just read another post where somebody did the Turbo exercises like 5 or 6 times in a row for a great burn.

I love Turbo Jam! So much fun, and I use the weighted gloves to add intensity. Obviously not as hard as a Cathe video, but I'm dripping sweat at the end and breathing pretty heavy. It's a nice addition to mix into your other videos.

Someone else mentioned another intense kickbox video called powerstrike, I found one of them on amazon and ordered it, it has not shipped yet though.

I love Turbo Jam, the workout is not as intense as Cathe but it nice when you want to workout but not too hard. The music is off the chain. I wish Cathe would get more upbeat music in her DVD's. I also have Turbo Sculpt, Booty Sculpt, Ab Jam, Turbo Lower Body. Working out to the music makes it really fun.

I have several of the TJ's. I love them overall but I must say that Cardio Party and Cardio Party 2 are my faves. The Cardio Party remix I do not care for. Punch Kick Jam is also really good IMO. I bought the weighted gloves and it really ups the intensity! :)

I agree, lots of fun...Punch Kick Jam and the Cardio Parties are my favorites. They are a nice change every now and then.

turbo jam which dvd is the best

okay - I am encouraged to try the turbo jam - which dvd's are the best ones?

Punch Kick & Jab is my favorite. I have all of them. I get really sweaty from them---it's what you put into it. You can always jump higher, kick harder, jab faster & put weighted gloves on. They're 40-55 minutes in length, so they're great for days when your short on time.

Turbo Jams are consistently fun, you won't find a workout with better music ANYWHERE.

Good luck. :)

My favorites are Cardio Party 2, which I believe is 45 min, and Fat Blaster, which is only 30 min but it has 4 Turbos! It packs a little punch for a short workout. I use it on days I'm short on time like last night. You can really get into it and push the intensity up a bit bit but yeah more intermediate than advanced. Great for days I REALLY don't feel like working out either. It helps me get back into the swing of things.

I agree with Melanie, "You get out of it, whatyou put into it" as Cathe would say. I have several & although I haven't done one in a while I usually put two together to get my time in. Definately works the core. I don't think you'll regret getting them.
