Tummy War

I do weights about 3 times and week and cardio 3 days a week as well. I also do my abs after my cardio. My upper abs and obliques are getting really nice and toned, however my lower is not following along. I had my baby 18 months ago and it's still slightly flabby. I lather Clarins cream to tighten it twice a day, do my lower abs until my back can't take it anymore, and still nothing. My lower abs refuse to get toned! My diet is very good, nuts, green veggies, lean meat, legumes...I banned bread, pasta and sugary food a while back...
Any suggestions?
Thank you all!:D

Hi! Is there any chance you drink a lot of diet pop? If so, I would say cut that out as it could be the culprit. It seemed to do a good amount of good for me.

I got this from the library out of shear desperation
http://www.amazon.com/Fit-Fabulous-Minutes-Teresa-Tapp/dp/0345484045
and have been doing the 10 min DVD (in the back of the book) for the abs these last 3 weeks and have had wonderful results! For some reason after my 3rd child my stomach did not go back to what it looked like pre pregnancy. My stomach was flat and perfect after 2 kids but this 3rd one did me in. Believe me this was something that I thought would not work! I can do every ab exercise that Cathe can do (yes pikes on the ball too) but I still had stomach issues. I recommend trying it!;)

did you just do the ab workout or do you do all of the moves? The exercised (I can't see the ab dvd so I can't comment on that, but I mean the other exercises on the link given) seem like they would be nothing to a Cathe regular but the reviews make it sound very good/effective. What do you think?

I just did the ab exercises. I ordered the Total workout that T-Tapp offers, there was a 30% off coupon in the back of the book I should be getting it soon. Who knows what will happen! I thought I would give this type of workout a try. I have been working out (5-6 days a week) for over 17 years and have done the all of Cathe's tapes, Firm (before Cathe), Jari Love, Amy Bento, Fitprimes,TLTs, spinning, Turbokick and running. This seemed a bit different and I will incorporate this with my current workouts.

Look into food allergies. I discovered in the past 6 months that I've been allergic to gluten and dairy for years. As soon as I cut out gluten, my lower tummy started coming back around. And then when I cut out dairy (just recently), it flattened even more.

Gluten is in a lot more than just wheat products, so do a little research. Celiac.com is a good resource, but there are countless websites and books you can check out on the topic, too. Try searching: gluten allergy, gluten intolerance, wheat allergy, celiac disease, celiac +gluten, etc. These will give you oodle of hits and provide even more links to search.

Thanks! I saw that in my library a while ago...I do Cathe's Core workouts 3 to 4 times a week after my cardio, I don't drink soda, nor eat much dairy or bread. I just need to work harder I guess, although it gets frustrating to see my whole body toned up except the darn lower abs...can't wait to try the new workout dvds to see if that'll shock the heck out of them!
Have a great summer!
