********Tuesday Check In*********

Hi ladies, I'm back! Henry looked like a little deer in headlights. I hope he has a good day. It's just preschool, and it's only two days a week, but I can already tell it is going to change my life :). I went shopping to avert my mind from worrying about him. I have got to quit this retail therapy before DH takes my credit cards away. Oh how sad that would be :(...

Jen1--Glad your DS had a great day at preschool yesterday!! I also think that the remarks your ass. principal (notice the abbreviation) made was uncalled for. And why did your friend tell you that? Is there a reason she would want to make trouble between you two? Anyway, I hope that the rest of the week goes better for you! DS enjoyed his first day and didn't seem phased by his sub. So I'm guessing that I overreacted.

Kate--Have fun at Pottery Barn (one of my most FAVORITE places). Don't forget to post pictures of that sweet nursery when it's done! No, the nursery isn't a co-op. I've never heard of that, actually. It's just a little learning center where he goes two days a week 9-2:45.

Jen2--I'm sorry your DH can't go with you to your shower. But I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time once you get there. You look FANTASTIC in the pictures!! Looks like you had the best spot in class. Lucky duck!

Kristan--I'm sorry about your DH. I know it must be hard for him to quit, but sometimes it takes such wake-up calls. My father came very close to having a heart attack five years ago. They had to put in a stint, and his doc told him to stop smoking or he would die. So he did, for about a month. Now he smokes the same as always. I don't get it, but I'm hoping your DH has much better sense.

Susan--Hey! Hope your day is going well!

Mikkia--I know you must be exhausted! Try to take some time for yourself!

Candra--Hi! I think that the magnet school sounds super fun! Yes, this is Henry's first year of preschool. Oliver went to full-time daycare until he was 3 and then two days a week after Henry was born. It did WONDERS for his personality. I think Henry has suffered a bit for me not putting him in earlier. He also is behind in his learning. I'm really hoping that he blossoms this year. I think he will do well. Oliver goes to public school and we really love it. I think it just depends what school district you live in.

Maggie--You better get packing!!! I'm itching to pack and wash baby clothes, etc., but I need to get my other household chores/projects done first. Will I ever catch up???

Weight gain: Kate--I think that you know your body better than anyone. If you're eating well and often and not letting yourself get hungry, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Candra--Was it you that said you had a friend that only gained 11 pounds? I gained 12 pounds in one month this pregnancy. So, I'd definitely not be able to hang out with her!!

Maggie--How much do you average? My average is 55 pounds. I'm already getting very close to the 45 lb mark. So this may be my biggest pregnancy. I didn't think I could surpass the last one! Ugh. ...

Once we deliver, we must all make a pact that we will have a post-preg weightloss/fitness checkin. OK? I'll need ALL the motivation I can get!!

OK better get busy while I still have the house to myself. Man, it's SOOOO quiet around here. I can actually hear my dog breathing. Wow. I'm in awe...

Thanks for the input everyone, i love this forum

Ok..so if you have small breasts, do you still produce an adequate amount of milk to feed the baby? not sure if it relates to size or not, but since i'm stuck tiny i'm jstu curious. I would certainly like to try breast feeding

Jen I really think once your milk comes in your breasts will get larger and youll have plenty of milk. Thing is after I was done breastfeeding my breasts shrank!!! I was a 34C before and now when I dont have pms I am a 34 nearly b. Its sad!

Mikkia, Sounds like you’ve been busy! Oh my goodness! Sounds like so much fun! Can I come visit??!!

Candra, Enjoy your elliptical! DH and I were checking them out at Dick’s last night. He *really* wants one. I’ll likely cave and surprise him. Good to know about your runner friend. I can’t imagine only gaining 11 pounds! Crazy! Hope the school thing turns out well for Wilson. I’ve always debated public school vs./ home schooling. Still not sure….So far so good with the public schools.

Susan, Glad you’re being safe about your workouts! Yeah, I think/know nighttime nursing can goof ya up! It did with Gina anyways. With Isabel I nursed at night but only when I KNEW she was hungry. I wasn’t going down Manipulation Road again.

Maggie, Sorry about the skaters! That looks like so much fun though! Wish I could do it. I think I was a stunt double in a previous life! Too cute on Dds! I hope you get your date night.

Stephanie, Oh, my heart breaks when I see that look on Isabel when I leave her at preschool. I am dreading that next month! Being a co-op keeps the cost down. MWF from 9-11:30 is $90/month. One teacher and 2 parents for 14 kids. Pretty nice! Henry is there for a long time! This IS going to change your life! LOL on the quietness!!

JenM, Your body will make a baby that can come out of you and adequate milk for the baby too! No worries. God didn’t make our bodies wrong!

Thanks to everybody for the ## encouragement. For the last 4 years just about everyone I know gets after me about the food I eat (HEALTHY!!!). Being pg just compounds the issues for me. I know I'm eating healthy. I'll take my food journal and they'll see too!

I decided we didn't have enough food in the house so we went grocery shopping and out to lunch! DDs have not napped. Neither have I. We're leaving soon for the outlet mall a little over an hour away. Am I crayz?!?!?!

i also am confused by strollers and car seats? are they one size fits all or does it go by new born etc...sigh...so much stuff to think about. im overwhelmed!

Popping back in...
Baby wasn't moving much, so I ate a few (um, well, a handful) of chocolate chips, and that did the trick. Whew. It's like Pele is trapped in my tummy.
I had a scare last night I wanted to ask you girls about. It never has happened to me before. I was asleep, and Henry woke up crying in the middle of the night. I got up to check on him, and I was too dizzy to walk, and nauseated. I woke up that way, it wasn't that I got up too quickly. It didn't subside, and I didn't feel the baby kick, so I got DH to get me some apple juice. I felt him a little bit, so I went back to sleep on my left side. I had been on my right side, but maybe had inadvertently turned onto my back. Don't know. Has this happened to anyone else? (ps Henry was fine, just couldn't pull up his blanket over himself and got frustrated.)

Jen2--As for the boobs, mine went back to normal both times. Actually, doing the chest presses in Muscle Endurance helped them to regain their perkiness after Henry. As for the carseats, I got a Cosco convertible carseat for Oliver (now Henry's), but you can't use it until the baby gets a little bigger, maybe 12 lbs or so (???), because it swallows an infant. I also got an infant carseat. The boys had a hand-me-down Evenflo one from a coworker, but this one will have a new one (old one had had it). I got another Evenflo (cheap, but great).

Hi everyone--it's just too dang hot upstairs and I don't feel like turning on the A/C.

I just got done with ds 14 and his chest/back workout. He is making incredible gains in a very short time--this is his 3rd week of weight training. I suppose this is typical of a healthy teen age boy. I told him it was great, but at some point the gains would slow down.

I have heart burn:mad:, in addition to my other woes and my mil just told me it's supposed to be over 100 this weekend. That makes me extremely cross and out of sorts.

++++
Stephanie--I think my average has been between 60 and 70 lbs. I do lose about 25-30 lbs in the first 2 weeks, because I carry an incredible amount of water....still, it's always a bit discouraging to have an extra 30-45 lbs of fat to lose, when everyone else is so much closer to thier original weight post partum. Once I gained 80 lbs and that time I did not lose it, so I started the next pregnancy about 25 overweight, but that only happened once. (That was the down syndrome/heart defect pregnancy and I was super stressed and he had medical problems the first year of life, so I didn't exercise at all or eat well).....

JenM--Breast size has nothing to do with milk production. And just wait and see what happens. Every woman is different. When my milk came in, my breast size exploded and alas my breasts will never be the same. Thank goodness for push up bras with a little padding;).

Kate--the skaters are not good skaters. It's hysterical to watch them stumble around. I do think they would make improvement if they would only go somewhere where they had more space--like away from my bedroom window. I think that if you are eating healthy--i.e. high quality calories and not many empty ones, you and baby are probably fine. Don't worry.

Hi everyone else!

Maggie:)

Autumn - Congratulations!!!!! Sorry so late, but I'm trying to slowly catch up on all the posts and I came across your post!! I'm so happy for you because I know this was so long in waiting!!!

Hi gals
Stephanie-that must of been scary. I know sometimes when I am awkaned I feel kinda out of sorts and dizzy, but that is not being pregnant. Have you felt fine all day? Could of just been one of those freakish things that happens once ya know.
Maggie- I am laughing and your drug dealers nieghbors trying to skate..too funny.
JenM-I think my shrinkage came from nursing so long. They just sort of lost their fluff. You'll do fine Im sure!
Olympics are on and dd is calling me to watch. See you guys tomorow.
Hi to everyone!!

Just a quick note---I started back to "work" today---at local pharmacy (my part-time/relief job). I was tired, so I"m glad I went back today for 8.5hr shift---I will be working 10hr shifts (plus drive).

I have tomorrow off, then will start KMart with a 8-hr shift on Thursday. I'm hoping to work Friday too so I can catch up a little on my bills. I'm salaried, so I"m not sure how all that is going to work out---do I need to work my salaried 30 hours to get my normal paycheck, or will they prorate my first check? Any rate, I will feel better when my life is back to "normal".

My body is still healing. My moods are much better though---so I think I'll be okay.

No workout today---but I've been working out about 75minutes 5-6 days/week. My clothes all fit (a itsy bitsy snug), so I'm really happy about that. FIVE days without Mountain Dew or sugary snacks!

Hi,
DH got into a silly blowout about his thinking that I do too much/push myself too much. This all started when I told him that I was having strange pains today, then followed that up with complaining about how much cleaning and stuff I need to do to get ready for P Chef show tomorrow. Well, he couldn't give me any examples:rolleyes:. Anyway, it's over, but I am still peeved b/c I do take care of myself!

Stephanie-I did get dizzy like you early in the preg. It was in the morning, when I woke up for the day. I couldn't get out of bed for fear of falling, so my DH also got me some juice and I felt better.

Jen #2-As for carseats, DO NOT get an Eddie Bauer one (I made that mistake). I will take Stephanie's advice and look for an Evenflo one. I used the Greco travel system when DS was a little baby. That included the stroller that we still use (he's almost 3 1/2)-we use it at parks mostly-, a base for the car seat and the car seat. It was so convenient when DS was a baby. You just snap the carrier into the carbase and off you go. If baby is sleeping, no problem, you just pop the carrier out of the base.

Hi Melanie-I am glad to hear you are feeling better!

Hello to everyone else! I am going to my class early to get a full day in. If we do this, and sign in/out, we get an extra paid day this year.

-Jen
